  1. You need to have it built. I believe Vac may have one for sale at his section.

    Some recipe:

    - Cartel Case

    - DSN Dial & Hands

    - After market lume

    - Shortened and polished crown tube

    - Polished & flush Canon Pinion

    - After market AR single side (Chief, Taka, etc.)

    - I'd go and get an OEM strap and ditch the rep strap. With a Rad, this makes or breaks the watch.

  2. Reps use stamped calf to mimic a gator/croco grain.

The one you've purchased through eBay seems to be Croco leather, which is nice, but is still inaccurate for PAMs since they use Gator, which is smoother and more expensive. I'd raid Paneristi trade forum and pick up an OEM gator for less than $200 instead for these new daylights, or just use the rubber strat that they came with which I think is excellent.

My Question, are the new A7753 PAMs coming with Straps made of genuine alligator leather, or is it just some imitation looking like alligator leather?

I am asking because I am waiting for my A7753 PAM and I just ordered a "genuine croco leather aftermarket strap" from eBay (Seller: pstrapusa).

Any input on this? Are these straps good?

Looking forward to hearing from you guys

  3. Exactly how I would do it. Except that DSN is now shipping them with the correct 6mm cyclops.

Be careful not to transplant the crystal from a cartel ultimate PAM 199 because the magnification is just too much it blows up the date fonts out of proportion, esp. when you install Taka's DW.

Spot on again on A CG, but HiJack at RG apparently have successfully modded a few ToroBravo/WholesaleOutlet Historic CGs into a good looking enough A CG.

    I have ordered both 24A and 25D :)

I think I will mod them like this:

-change date wheel for the new 2Geek one

-change crown for T48 spring loaded

-and change crystal as soon as I will be able to get a good one with the right size cyclop...

I don't think I will change the CG as it is pretty difficult to find a good A-Serie CG...

    What do you think?

  4. There's a gen with exactly that dark brown tone and off-white stitching, I used to have one. But that strap came in 24X22 size, the one pictured looks like a 24X24 and I know only one guy does a gator belly strap with that rich dark tone, thickness, cutting, and similarly cut holes. Lookup HKTan.

  5. The silver sub-dial does bother some people and with gen sub-dial color being anywhere between DSN's and cartel's it's not a straightforward pick for some people.

The problem with 089 is the CG, without any viable option out there that's close enough to gen except by going gen (DSN's cg is closest in thickness but shape still falls short).

I'd pick a 088 based on the ultimate from van. It's damn classy as hell for a GMT watch and is more formal looking than the 089. I had my 088 from vac and my friend literally begged me to sell it to him, so I did and am raising fund again to have vac rebuild another one for me :thumbsupsmileyanim:

If you need an 089, get both :clapping:

  6. Here's your recipe of success:

    1. Contact vaccum.

    2. Cartel case (normally available for H series).

    3. A6497 H movement with swan neck.

    4. DSN Dials & Hands --> vaclume.

    5. Tall H3 canon pinion mod.

    6. Shortened crown tube.

    7. Chief AR.

I have exactly that except with a G series movement and never regret anything.

  7. I had his ultimate 111H and I changed the crown there with a normal rep crown (from the cartel I think) which are similar in build to T's crowns, with no issue. I know others have done so for DSN's auto PAMs with no issue as well. Unless he has different tube builds for his PreV offerring...

  8. Yes, it would fit just fine. The problem would be if you get a gen crown, you need to fabricate a different tube for it. But if it's T's crown, it's plug and play. You will find that the stem screws in further with a T crown though, so you would probably need a new longer stem.
