  1. I would jump right on that bandwagon, if it were only true. A Google search reveals the story that prompted this article's creation was incorrect and was pulled quickly. Even the Puma PAC have now rejected it. Sorry!
  2. Oh, come on! It's better to carry a man-purse just for a cellphone?
  3. P4GTR, I shot the 2007 Single Stack Nationals (presented by Springfield Armory) and shot with Robbie Latham. He's an incredible shooter and a heck of a sportsman. Nice guy. He's won that event for, I think, 14 years straight? I was no threat, I can assure you of that.
  4. I have been wanting one but they typos are killing me. Do they ALL say "Nexico" con the back?
  5. Yeah, the site is down due to an emergency server move. For now we're staying in RWG's garage, and we're not allowed to use the good bathrooms. Here's the door: http://www.rwgforum.com/forum/254-rwi-play-pen/
  6. Ok, as to the original topic of this thread, here's all the stuff I carry daily. Man, I didn't realize I carry so much junk all the time! Wilson Combat CQB Josh Bulman custom sharkskin holster Applegate-Fairbairn Combat Folder iPhone Wallet Car key LED tac light and of course, the watch... Breitling Avenger Skyland v3 I suppose I got in the habit of carrying the light and stuff when my gunstore was still open. Closing up at night and walking out the door into the dark with a large deposit makes you a little uneasy. (Clickable)
  7. The grip safety on my IPSC Limited racegun gun is pinned, but I have large hands so it's not really necessary. To your other statements, let me say this as to why I carry a .45: There were a handful of times when someone would come in to my store and after talking a bit they would show me a scar and say something like "Here's where I was shot with a .380ACP". No one EVER told me they had been shot with a .45; do you know why? Because those people are no longer around to talk about it! A customer of mine was a bouncer at a club 20 years ago, and carried a S&W .357 Mag. He tossed a wild drunk out one night and the patron waited in the parking lot until my friend got off work, and when he came out of the door the assailant shot him with a .22LR pistol. At that point my friend drew his Smith and dispatched his attacker. He was treated and released for the .22 wound. True, we Americans like big things. Big cars with big engines, big guns, big boobs - wait, I guess that one is universal.
  8. Man, I should've come over here sooner. I've been building custom 1911s for years. Per your quoted comment above: (Clickable) Gallery here: http://photobucket.com/anopsis_commander Colt with parts from Wilson except for Ed Brown barrel. It's on an Essex frame because FedEx _lost_ the original. Looong story.
  9. is wondering what this box is for.

  10. Just like greg_r said, it's unbalanced. I like large, heavy watches because I like the feel of something substantial on my wrist, but a properly sized, weighted, and balanced watch/strap combo feels like your wrist/hand is heavy; this felt like all the weight was sitting on the top, wanting to twist your wrist to accomodate gravity's demands. It just didn't feel... right. I LOVE looking at it and just handling it though. I wore it around the house and only outside a couple of times. I wear watches for me and no one else, but hey, there's a limit. FYI, that's it in my avatar. The blue light is the power LED on my desktop computer.
  11. WOW guys... I must say, as a newbie here I'm *very* impressed. You really take care of your own. Congrats MOP!
  12. I have an 8" wrist and this watch makes it look small. Here's a few of my pics for reference: Wrist shot Wrist shot Wrist shot Yes, that IS a hockey puck I have it wrapped around Comparison with a 111H Comparison with a 111H Pig buckle Pig buckle Forgot to add this one. Hope I didn't post too many pics. Still learning the ropes here.
  13. Are those "subdials" DRAWN on the face with a marker?? Sheesh.
  14. Words to live by! My Breitling Skyland (fortunately) fell in my lap because of this. It's worth noting that there are various types of LocTite (threadlocker) and they are identified by color. Blue (shown above) is what I would recommend, as it's just about the tightest-locking but still removable. Use red and those screws will NEVER come out, even if you want them to. Blue leaves you the option.
  15. I've been going through withdrawals. It's too bad it took major downtime to get me to peruse another forum!
