  1. A sub I got from RWG member Turkey on this black strap... Trying to decide if I like the strap or not.
  2. I really like the submariner on a bracelet, but I guess my wrist is too small because I just can't find a comfortable compromise with the links. So, I took the black strap that came with my Archimede Pilot watch and threw it on the sub. How do you think it looks? Sorry about he quick and dirty pics... Thanks for the input, -- m
  3. I bought the cheaper asian 21j sub from Trusty recently, not the "best" one. I think that the "best" on is based on the one I bought though. Nevertheless, the dial had great lume and the hands had virtually none. I just got a swiss sub from a forum member yesterday. It was originally from Josh. The lume on the hands is much better but the dial is a lot weaker. Hope that helps. I think I might take some pics to compare the two and post them in the pictures section. -- m
  4. I'm sorry. I generally don't comment, but that is just hilarious.
  5. I'm in Jacksonville, but maybe could make it to Orlando.
  6. Here's a few shots of the Tag Alter Ego I bought from Trusty for my girlfriend. She loves it. Looks great on her. I'll post some wrist shots later.
  7. Crappy cell phone pic, but the best I can do at work...
  8. FYI...I just ordered a new 6497 stem from Davidsen last night. Drop him an email.
  9. Very nice! Your post makes me wish my 000 was in working condition.
  10. Anybody notice the mispelling of "Officine" on the case back?
  11. Thanks. I worked on the lever a bit more this morning, but I still have a little less than a mm to file off and I think it will be pretty flush. I thnk it's turning out pretty well considering though. -- M
  12. Thanks! Opps...I meant ajoesmith. He's a forum member that was selling some parts. I happened to get two logo dials and some hands from him. -- M
  13. I think I have a bit more work to do on the crown guard lever. It seems to stick out just a bit too much. Then again I think I have seen gens doing the same thing. What do you guys think? Originally a case from River with a Jimmy Fu crown guard, Lello crown, new dial from forum member ajoesmith, and hands from davidsen. -- M
  14. Yeah, I just got thru filing the lever a bit. I think I might have a bit more to do, but I'm a little wary about doing too much due to the same reason as you. Here are some pics of the semi-finished product... (BTW, it's was originally a case from River with a Jimmy Fu crown guard, Lello crown, new dial from joeasmith, and hands from davidsen) -- M
  15. I received two pair of these from River yesterday ($15 for the set). They work great and look just as good as screws. -- M
  16. I got up the nerve last night to mess around with my lello crown and a stem. I measured the stem screwed into the Lello crown and then measured the difference when it was screwed into the regular crown. It then snipped the stem and filed it down gently until it was the right length. I fit into the case after some trial and error. The jimmy fu crown guard lever was a bit too snug so I filed it down a bit too. The crown doesn't function now as my other manual wind watches. You have to pull it out one step to wind (it won't move at all when pressed against the case) and then pull it out another step to set the time. Overall, it looks great to me. A lot better than standard skinny crown that came with the case. -- M
  17. Archibald, Did you ever figure out how to modify the lello crown to fit? Thanks, -- M
  18. Hmmm...I hadn't thought about that. I'll give that a shot. If anyone else know of another source, please let me know.
  19. Where can I source some of the small screws that are used in holding the movement in place on the PAM reps? These are the screws that hold the clamp in place and screw into the movement itself. I seem to have lost a few of them recently while messing with my watches. Thanks, -- M
  20. Well, I picked up a link removal tool at a local jewerly tool supply store. sssurfer was right...the pin came out easily pushed from the front side. Thanks, -- M
  21. Thanks, but I found it on mywatchmaker.net with only $2.50 shipping. I've ordered from there a couple of times and have always been happy. -- M
  22. Thanks for all the tips guys. I tried several of the recommendations last night with no luck. Guess I'll order a link remover soon and see if that works. At least if it doesn't I'll be able to size my own bracelets. -- M
  23. I'm having problems removing the pin of one of my CG's. I want to swap out it's lever with one from another CG. The older one popped out easily using a paper clip that was straigthened out a bit but this one won't budge. Anyway, what do you guys recommend to remove the CG Lever Pin? Would a link removal tool work? Thanks, -- M
  24. Looks really nice!! Do you have any shots of the Super Lume? Thanks, -- M
