  1. I think you are just having a string of bad luck. Having personally having purchased over a hundred, I have had less than 1% of them ever fail.. and those were due to moisture from I think was the sweat of the assembler... Also gave many to my young sons who played sports in them, dropped, banged, beat them to hell.. and besides a few hands falling off, bezels ect,... the vast majority of the movements worked like charms,.. To be frank, I have had more problems with Eta than Asian,....
  2. I think many of us do this unconsciously, which is not always a judgment, but an attempt to categorize not the type of person, but their taste in or dept of knowledge of watches in general. Many people, most, I would venture to say have little interest in watches beyond time keeping,.. however I still can't help but to feel a bit of disappointment when I see a watch that at first glance could be a classy or rare piece, turns out to be a legal clone, i.e. Invictah or any of the Swiss sounding copies that I seem to have grown a strong distaste for. Which I
  3. Hey, My favorite area of San Fran,... I go to eat sushi at that place near the book store,.. Very inexpensive but still good. Funny though that I don't seem to watch for watches while there.... too many other things to look at.. like the women for one....
  4. That I can't now afford to buy all the great ones that are coming out these days.... Especially the new Briet..
  5. Wish I knew Manuel,.... One of the mods should be able to clear it up though...
  6. Cornerstone & Yellomen,..thanks for the well wishes... I have been wanting to start my own business for years,... now, though I don't have the funds.. I think I will go for it regardless,.. Anyone want to invest in a multi-million dollar business plan ?
  7. Glad things are good for you....! I just lost my job today because I refused to fire someone else... Thanks for the welcome though I have been lurking,.. just not posting much... I hope that since some of us are not buying as much as we were,... maybe the prices will come down ? That is unless the European members are keeping the flow steady...
  8. I agree,.. one of the best reviews ever ! I find also this Breitling one of the most handsome in their line..
  9. I'm noticing that most of the business in the trading forum is now from European members... when before we Americans were the bulk of the business everywhere... I know I'm not buying replicas these days,.. they seem so far from my priorities that I can only browse and dream of better days ahead... I wonder how much of the void that we yanks have left is being filled with the Euro, and how this will affect prices ?
  10. Great Review ! I had an Omega Moon a long while back & wished it had a date function.... This one would be perfect ! Now to make some money again....
  11. If anyone recalls the past, they would know how serious to take this thread,..though on 2nd thought, maybe we would have hoped that some positive growth would have occurred over a years span....
  12. Agreed, in at least that voicing differing opinions should not dredge up arguments.... I will however watch in amusement as these watches start to show up in the member's trading forum...
  13. Not the same issue,.. I was referring to physical features, not internal capabilities. Like wearing a rubber dive suit in the rain...
  14. The amount of times one views a watch will eventually make the most indigestible fare in time if not desirable, as least palatable. Viewing the chronofighter however, hundreds of times over the years, has not made the slightest dent in my original opinion that I personally find it ridiculous. The history and function of the 'trigger' makes no difference to the reasons why one would wear it outside of the cockpit and without the gloves. Much the same as the gigantic cold water diver crown guards that the Russians came out with that are 100% logical for the use for which they were designed, however look silly at the mall or on streets & offices, and moreso in replicas... IMO,.....
  15. Does look Great ! Surprised the heck out of me when I read the title and expected a monstrosity ....
  16. Thanks.. ! I guess I'll send away for one... as I really miss selling my old model,.. that watch was one of the few that stood the test of time with regards to looks and wardrobe matching,...
  17. Are You ? Yes you are,.... With all that could go wrong,.. you have hit the jackpot,.. appreciate it or forever lose the good graces of not only the dealers but the lucky fairy you have watching over you...
  18. Has anyone requested to one of our dealers to pick this watch up ? I would rather buy from someone I know... and we could probably get it cheaper....
  19. Great article Swdivad,... I agree,.. Smp all the way ! There is also something more serious about Smp, that the Sub has lost, with it's emphasis on the illusion of the 'Status Symbol'..which has made it the most replicated, or worn by dorks with cash but no sense of style, individuality and diving experience only as deep as their hot tub,..
  20. Now that is a collection to aspire to one day own ! The Best of the Best !
  21. Yes,.. I have had several,.. and still found the metal skin indentation not to my liking.. Nothing compares to a buckle imo.. pure leather, no metal, besides the watch itself..
  22. That's why I tend to buy straps that are between brown & black in color.. Also another reason some prefer metal bands,.. Wish I didn't value comfort over all, otherwise metal would be my choice as well...
  23. Yes,.Deployants are better for your strap, and easier for mounting & removing your watch... That said However,... for comfort,.. Nothing is better than a buckle,.. Having that piece of metal pressing into your wrist all day and seeing that indentation when you remove your strap, turned me away from deploys long ago...
  24. I always look forward to the Christmas Theme like the season doesn't officially start until it's here !!!
