  1. Thanks Chrono903,... Very Interesting information,... I hope the reps stay true the crown screw design,.. I was surprised how they did reproduce the band link change out mech., so I do have hope..
  2. Beautiful Piece,.. what are the stats on it ? I'll take it !
  3. If you just received the watch and it's doa, notify Andrew and he will take care of you... he's a great guy !
  4. Quick, run to the nearest mall and pick up an cheap 'inspired by' watch.. wear it face down and imagine it's one of your favorites.... Then return it the next day... Or.. brave the lunch hour traffic back to your place and get that watch....
  5. Hey Arch,.. Since my whole goal is Serious Tool Watches i.e. Chronos, Gmts, Divers, Pilot, that pretty much leaves out many lines, besides Rolex, Iwc, Breitling and Panerai, obtaining two, three tops, of each. I did this to help me cure my addiction but now find it the most fascinating way to collect, twelve watches total and I am about done. Would like this however, Snagged the photo from Don's site..
  6. Silixprime has fantastic deals for those that are seeking lower priced watches non-eta, daily beaters, test watches to try for fit, style, compatibility ect. For higher line watches, silix-prime.com They are honest people with some of the highest degrees of customer service in the industry.
  7. What ? No 196 ??? Agree with you on the 029 though,.. had one and sold it the next day,.. the 063 however,..now that's a Time Piece ! For me, Panerai is too large of a watch, not to have a somewhat interesting face, {some would call busy} to fill up all that space,.. like a large flat screen tv without picture in picture or a huge orgy but then, what do I know... I'm lovin my Breit Navi,.. because when I am bored, the more I have to look at and compute,..the better !
  8. Ryyannon how did I ever miss this crack me up personality !...
  9. I never had to this point, usually got a feel of the watch upon receipt and could most times guess if it was a keeper, one to let my sons wear, or in rare cases, a send back... Even so, out of many, only one, that my teen sons have banged around for years has died to this point, and that was due to water damage and his use of a table top to remove it. However now I am sending my 7753 into The Zigmeister, not for the movement, but for misaligned parts that react with the date functions which lead to a problem with the chrono hand as well... I will also request a lube job.... If I would have done this in the beginning it would have been cheaper however...so take a risk and pay a price..and the 7753 is no watch to take chances with, in my opinion due to the investment it takes to obtain one, not to mention the beautiful watch it comes in.. In the future,.. I can't say at this point,.. as I do have another 7750 Asian coming my way.. which to this point I have had great luck with, even without servicing... as I do not use them for daily wear,.. as I feel that if you keep a decent size collection at least seven watches.. you can spead the wear around. I do recommend servicing however for those that do not put on the kid gloves that reps require, and work around stalls that could become permanent damage. Something that I have learned to do quite well over the years.
  10. Sorry to hear about your repeating problem,..Good it was from EL though.. Strange how certain problems plague certain people,.. for me it's crooked markers, but when I see photos of other members watches.. it seems that everyone is getting aligned markers but me...
  11. Thanks for showing us all what only some of us knew...
  12. Never mind Bres3000 I have learned that he loves to throw stones from the sidelines... which reminds me,.. I have one you threw at me.. saving it for a memento..
  13. Hey krustybrand, how do you compare it with the one I received from you ? Personally I can't see any differences... I do note that on some dates, the number sits low and some are perfect like the 18th and 19th for instance... By the way you should see her all dressed up in this Blue Shark Skin outfit I brought for her.. Hey By-Tor,.. Welcome to the 7750 via Asia club,.. I'm sure you will be fine ! If you have any questions... here to help !
  14. Thanks Finepics,..you are right I'm sure. I would attempt a fix, but have visions of me removing the caseback and springs & gears popping out all over the room Besides I'm the type that seems to always have a few parts left over after a fix job... I have contacted Zig & will send it off,.. it needs a lube regardness, the rotar could be heard clear across the room... Thanks for everyone's input !
  15. I was very careful,... set the time to 6pm, before I pushed the button. I noticed that the date only moved slighty,.. so I pushed a bit harder, and the date moved about half way then would not move any further. So I pulled out the crown & worked the hands past 12 which changed the date fully. I then put the hands back to 6 going for another button try,.. figuring that maybe it was somehow frozen with neglect. Same thing,.. only half changed. Repeated the hand change, then wondered about the crown date change function,..and found that it's spinning freely now,.. no connection to the date wheel. {kruzer, it used to have one I used it all the time} Also on a side note last nite I had a thought that some of the other functions may be affected, so I tried the chronograph,.. and seemed fine until the chrono hand reached the 11:58, then it stopped. I stopped it manually anyway and reset it,.. it came back dead 12,.. No more playing,... this baby is going to The Zigmeister. Funny how I have had such great luck with the Asian 7750s and now this with the Swiss 7753 ? Go figure
  16. Great though that the limited production in white has now made it rare and thus the most valuable...
  17. Don't think there's much chance for a helping post but thought I'd notify others of a possible weakness in the Pam 196 7753.... I have been eyeing that date changing button on the case,... something inside of me told me not to use it,.... well today I didn't listen to that little voice and now I can't change my date by either that button or the crown date-set function.. I have to manually wind the hands to get any response.... Oh, well now I have to send it in for servicing,.... Lesson learned..
  18. Whatever the verdict, since I don't dive anymore, or even take showers with my watch on any longer... I am excited to receive this piece.. fits a Perfect spot in my collection...
  19. * sigh... i'll write them and apologize...
  20. No ulterior motives Klink... as long as you have been around, you know that orbits at times go in opposing directions, and sometimes align.. that was my ol' salty way of saying that I felt every word.
  21. Ahh Shucks man you just popped my bubble....I had a space in my watch box all picked out...
  22. First time I have understood Klink in a long time,..well at least the important parts,.. Hey Klinkster,.. what ever it is that you did today, or didn't do.. do it again !
  23. If anyone sees Andrew's post of this watch, he will notice the photo where the crown is out, and no threads are in evidence,.. however the Gst is the same when opened,..the threads are deeper inside the case but still there...
  24. The pin is not as difficult to remove as the explanation... it only requires the right point to push it down far enough to get it under the hole. Try a thick needle, or some other such implement. However be warned,.. I did this with two of my non-deployment thick bands, and later when I removed the deployant due to comfort problems, I noticed that the band was severly creased almost to the point of a slice.
