  1. a work of art! beautifully done!
  2. you armhair looks like each individual strand could turn into a serpent at any moment.
  3. fantastic shots of a fantastic watch...wore mine the other day!
  4. plus some people want to take that extra step to make the watches that much nicer. sometimes it is the attention to the details that make for something special. i really don't care about it all that much TBH.
  5. looks like an easy way to get a hold of the content although these aren't much more than flash re-encodes of scene releases. an easy button for getting the movies if you will.
  6. YES! the hated/loved christmas theme. where's that animated gif that says i know jetmid showing some greaseball with gold chains on...i used to love that one!
  7. well we have at least one known member that has read the rules. who will be next?
  8. take the time you need...hopefully i'll get around to sending you some watches that are in need of some tlc. merry christmas
  9. while we're getting all nostalgic, i'll just send a shout out to those that made the original looney bin what it was. i was just reading over #2000 which reminded me of all of the post salvaging that was going on during the transition. people didn't know if all of the information would be transferred and were running amok to preserve the posts. how funny to go back through and re-read a post from almost 2 years ago - some of the people on the roll call are still active, sadly some are not, and i guess fortunately others are not. i guess if you really want to get old school you'd have to get the likes of ttk to tell you stories of pre-RWG1. anyone else remember the photogalleryforum or watchtrader? at one time there went from two main boards to like 6 in the span of a few short months. how many active boards do we even have now? (i'm asking since i've kind of been on the sidelines for a bit). this board alone is coming up on 10k registered members...do any of the old timers remember the thread about member 10k on RWG?

kinda odd that you'd pick that one for your 1st, but you certainly didn't go wrong. it's a stunner on the wrist, especially when fitted with a proper strap!
  11. boy these guys must be getting hammered with traffic from RWG members - the site's down!!! i've heard of the slashdot or engadget effect, but never the RWG effect!
  12. it's the real deal, light as a feather
  13. honestly though throughout the years there have been so many dial variations that you'd be hard pressed for someone to call you out for that, and if they did you're on the right track - just tell them that rolex beverly hills just sent it back to you refreshed and ready to go. looks great btw!
  14. first or last! 231 today, no pics as they all are terrible per usual. when's the next signup for the ttk school of watch photography?
  15. http://cgi.ebay.com/SEIKO-SKX781K3-SKX781-...VQQcmdZViewItem that's only a little cheaper...looks like prices have gone up since these were easy to get for 125 to 130 SHIPPED on ebay.
  16. he said "omg there's no TRL, how can you sell this junk" to which the thai gang of street thug rep watch purveyors took as the ultimate superduper 1:1 MBW (literally) 5th gen final version perfect insult and damn near killed him. thank god we can talk smack from the comfort of our own homes via the series of tubes known as teh internets
  17. alas the ttk crew will be loyal to ttk and the josh/andrew crew will be loyal to them. the world will keep spinning, and the white lies will keep coming. this continues to be an area where you have to ask yourself where exactly is that line where white lies turn into something much uglier. how appropriate is the phrase fool me once, fool me twice...in some cases people will allow themselves to be fooled over and over and over again. either way, i'm sure there will be dissection and photo reviews and comparisons, so those will be threads almost as interesting as this one.
  18. I will sponsor Raymond for the ehtolcad gold star of the month, which is much more valuable than any silly replica watch. Congrats, Raymond, you've got all kinds of street cred now.
  19. so have we concluded that these are indeed available from ruby?
  20. i wonder if that one has a funky jump movement a la franck muller to compensate for the 3 and the 2
  21. and just as a fyi, that one is a 47mm model, so it will be massive on the wrist. massive in a good way, that is!
  22. i own a number of them and the one that i always come back to is the 192. to me it is perfect, but unfortunately, i don't believe that they are readily available. other than that maybe a 212 or a 187. a goood starter is the 111, the 005 is great with the logo and the 127 is a monster. 092 is also sweet, but how could i forget about the pvd's or the ti's. a little birdie told me that the ti's are going the way of the dodo, so it might be a good idea to pick them up now while you still can. the 231 is all class and so stunning in person. the lefty 217 is a oddball, but beloved amongst collectors. i have always coveted the 063 and 027 (maybe someday) and (stupidly) let a 196 walk out of my life. anyways, i could go on all day about this stuff, but really outside of the purdey line, you can't go wrong, they are all so sweet and the more you get into them, the more you'll appreciate the subtle differences.
