  1. I totally agree, send it back & if u get someone to service your watch, there could be damage to threads on screws, scratches...etc. At least if you send it back, when he returns it, he'd have to send you pic's of his QC

I guarantee you'd have to pay for the shipping fees & no, I've never heard of anyone getting a refund on their shipping unfortunately !!!

  2. Warner, copy and paste one of my comments allows me to see your level of creativity.

It's clear for me now that you don't understand the difference between a design problem anda QC issue. Let me explain you the difference.

Short or larger hands, no space between the datewheel and inner bezel are examples ofdesign problems. OK? Now when the paint goes over the surface supposed to be cover, dust in the dial (or traces of painting) or fingerprints are examples of QC issues.

Basicly you can't solve a design problem (you can but you need to re design the part) but a QC issue can be solved.

My friend, if you think your comment about the "Rep" costing only a fraction of the "Gen" is creative....then I have no idea what the word "creative" means to you. We're having this conversation on a "Rep" forum...and that's the whole reason we're here !

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" - what may seem to be at fault to you, may not be an issue with others. For example, the AP ROO grey them, I have an issue with the minute & hour hand being too thick, someone else may have an issue with the grey dial colour, others may care that it's not made in Ti? As for this silver theme, you may care about the printing on the sec@12 (as mentioned above)...for me, I think it's a great watch and the tiny printing issue with the sec@12 is not any issue for me. It's all based on personal tolerance level.

I would suggest you check this link, there are pictures of the silver theme which was taken by a memeber when it was 1st launched...it's clear form the picture & also on the trusted dealers site, that they all seem to have the same issue as you have mentioned above - I don't believe it's a QC issue ! http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=88940&page=2&highlight=silver+theme

We may have our differences in opinion, but I wish you luck with your silver theme :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  3. eeehh... then I think you will never can buy an AP ROO (all of them uses the same hour and minute hand). The difference is so miminal, that only an expert with a magnifier would be able to see it. Are you asking a 1 to 1 rep (I never saw one) for only 3% of gen value? ...mmmmh...

Sorry my friend...but you are wrong...!!! I own 4 AP ROO (All ultimate versions) - Montoya RG / AP ROO RG / Survivor / AP ROO on SS (Black dial) - Their hands are just perfect compared with the Gen. If you actually own anyone of them, I'm sure you'd know right away they don't use the same hour & minute hand.

  4. The last 3 watches I brought from Josh had some quality issues as well. They claim to have QC'd the watch before shipment, but I doubt it. I think they just send the package off once they received it from the manufacturer in bubble wraps, and don't even bother to look inside the wraps. They have far too many orders to process each day.

The ultimate AP survivor I brought ($700) - Crown fell of after a day (it was sent back for a replacement & Josh sent me another one - it is in good condition, but the rubber gasket beneath the bezel was installed wrong way round - another quality issue) it's not so noticeable, so can't be bothered to send it back again for replacement.

Hublot Big Bang King chocolate ultimate V1 ($650) - it was sent to UK, and I left UK for asia, so my sister collected it for me from UK and brought back to asian for me (almost 3 motnhs). When I opened it (brand new & unworn), the brown rubber straps had green spots - seems like chemical splashes (quite a few spots) can only be seen under light. Unfortunately, Josh told me it was temperature or something, but because I did not notify him right away, I had to pay for the strap & tools ($85)

My Franck Muller King SS- The watch was brand new & did not wear it for a week after it arrived, when I unwrap the plastic film on the watch face, I saw a 2 cm scratch carved into the side of the metal watch (pretty deep actually). I did not notify him, because he's gonna say I scratched it, because I didnt notify him earlier as soon as I received it. Anyway, can't be bothered to be sending things backwards & forwards.

I brought 5 watches within last 3 months, and the last 3 described above had problems. I might have to resort to a new dealer soon (since they have too many customers, I don't think they would care if they lose me as a customer). I heard Mrs King is pretty good.

  5. Yea...who is the dealer ? The good thing about being on this forum is that we're all able to share information. We realize that being in the rep game, there will be times when u get the few odd watches arriving from reputable dealers with quality not being up to a standard, and it happens...even to some of the best dealers, and I am sure they will try an resolve issues such as this.

However, it would be nice if we knew who the dealer is....so that the next time the dealers sends the watch out..he is in a conscious state & being quality conscious, and as for the buyer (we all are)....protecting the interest of all RWG members, as we do not want another casualty....I am sure u wouldn't want this happen to any of our members right ??? Paying $600 for a high end watch & waiting for months on end and to receive something like is...!! totally unacceptable !

So..without pressure..who's the dealer again ? sometime it is good to send out warning signs to dealers...just a wake up call u know..!!! After all..without RWG...the respected dealers wouldn't be here..!! your contribution is highly appreciated.... initials would be fine ! :clapping:

  6. It's like buying a car...then you spend the money on the alloy wheels & the exhausts or the engine...etc. Then 6 months or a year down the line...you see something better..or new or more exciting car...that's when it's time to sell the car. However, your car might have depreciated a bit...but you cannot charge the extra you've spent on the wheels...engine...etc. This is the same principle as collection rep watches...it's a little costly...but absolutely worth the thrills.

On the other hand people don't really want to sell their reps...but for financial reasons, it may leave them without much choice !
