  1. For me the brand has changed as a result of evolution. Early on these pieces were very limited and affordable. Collectibility started for me In 2000. As the transformation to Richemont took place the brand started to change.

Prices would sky rocket for many limited run series, but for me once MSRP inflated ( for me it was the 127)over 3 years I think it doubled in MSRP and the brand suddenly became mainstream my obsession slowed. It always amazed me how many of these very very limited PREV watches all of a sudden show up unworn for huge monies. Could a secret stock of left overs be pieced together? Complete sets call me crazy

Social media( forums) helped drive the brand away from the boutique product I was so obsessed with for a period of time, and the knowledge based forums soon became commercialized and new members joined with different intentions than the founding ones.

    Just my take....

  2. Nothing wrong with the watch.

It's an infamous PAM237 AKA "The Ghost".

Made in 2005 in 400 pieces only. Not a LE per se, rather limited production.

The current price is ridiculously low, regardless of scratches/dings/dirt. In collectors circles it's worth at least 4 times that much.

Ahh the Ghost. The only one I regret selling

  3. Awesome. Did you have preV lugs drilled?

So this one has been floating around for awhile. It started with the case set that was part of a gen part-out with another member. He started to convert it to a 201a franken. He wasn't feeling a lot of love for it, so I offered to take it off his hands. He had a very good looking DSN dial in it, but the slightly smaller #'s and the slightly larger arrow logo bugged me. In with an FGD dial and slap on a correct Pre-V buckle/strap = a lot of love for me :D

    Parts rundown so far...

    gen case set

    98% 1:1 Jakob(sp) case back

hands... standard rep issue, nicely aged in coffee by the previous owner

    FGD dial

    Swiss 6497 movement from Ofrei.com

Dirk strap with Pre-V correct buckle

Next upgrade... FGD is considering doing correct Pre-V hands :thumbsupsmileyanim: :thumbsupsmileyanim: :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Some quick phone pics in the driveway (just drove back from the previous owner's house where he did the dial transplant for me).
