  1. A clip from spiked humor.. Humvee driving in Iraq
  2. HAHAH! This actually reminds me of the school assignments where you get the start of a story, and you have to finish it.. ..only this has blowjobs in it.. and replica watches (though if I was given an assignment now, it would more than likely contain some kind of reference to a watch or two).. ..and paypal.. ..and sexy women in laced bras.. ..and [censored].. ..and man gravy.. ..and shuffleboard grounds.. Come to think of it.. It's not really like the the school assignments where you get the start of a story, and you have to finish it at all..
  3. 'Obtrusive' AR on my 250.. (could just be my mediocre photoskills)
  4. I've been looking around a little, trying to find a reasonable way to ship something fairly heavy from the US, and still save some money on buying it over there. I can't really find a 'cheap' way, and some of the shipping methods will set me back around $200. USPS Airmail Parcel Post $190.. The item is 55lb / 25kg, and in a cardboard box roughly 3' x 3' x 1' (1m x 1m x 30cm) It's supposed to be sent from Maryland, USA to Bergen, Norway, area code 5000 Value of shipment is around $750 Of course, I'd like it tax free (25% in norway). Is this feasible at all? Does anybody here have any experience with something like this? Any help, calculations and such is appreciated. -Tg-
  5. Some atheist quotes I like bringing up when in a religious discussion (Because arguing is futile): "I don't see any god up here." -Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin- ..speaking from orbit, 1961. "Walk with those seeking Truth. Run from those who think they've found it." -Deepak Chopra- "If you believe in the existence of fairies at the bottom of the garden you are deemed fit for the bin. If you believe in parthenogenesis, ascension, transubstantiation and all the rest of it you are deemed fit to govern the country." -Jonathan Meades- "I read about an Eskimo hunter who asked the local missionary priest, 'If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?' 'No,' said the priest, 'not if you did not know.' 'Then why,' asked the Eskimo earnestly, 'did you tell me?' " -Annie Dillard- Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, 1974 One for our scottish friends: "In Glasgow an atheist is someone who goes to a Celtic v Rangers match to enjoy the football." -Ian Proud- in the Times Question and Answer column, June 2003. -Source-
  6. -Dating is awkward.. but so is becoming the crazy cat lady..
  7. I bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ30.. Mostly for the zoom as I take a lot of pictures at sea, and because I like to use the LCD as a viewfinder.. (I know it's not very professional) I'm very happy with this camera, but what Pugwash said about the bad high-ISO/poor light conditions performance of his FZ20 also applies to mine.. Noise all over the place. In daylight and inside, with good lighting, it does not stand back to any cheaper DSLR I've tried.
  8. Without a certified priest I've heard the only way to make Holy Water out of normal water is to boil the hell out of it! Is there any truth to this?
  9. ryyannon! I've had errosafe bug me now and then when I've accessed bittorrent sites like torrentspy and the piratebay, almost always when searching and opening a new window from their main pages. I install a lot of demos/games/applications and probably risk more than the average user.. visiting sites like seriall.com quite often(THE DEVIL!) and such. I've used spybot search and destroy, and Norton internet security/panda scan and they always helped me out.
  10. Au contraire, dear Kenberg, this was new to me! ..damned scottish trawlers!
  11. A young boy went up to his father and asked him, "Dad, what is the difference between potentially and realistically?" The father thought for a moment, then answered, "Go ask your mother if she would sleep with Robert Redford for a million dollars. Then ask your sister if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars, and then ask your brother if he'd sleep with Tom Cruise for a million dollars. Come back and tell me what you learn from that." So the boy went to his mother and asked, "Would you sleep with Robert Redford for a million dollars?" The mother replied, "Of course I would! We could really use that money to fix up the house and send you kids to a great University!" The boy then went to his sister and asked, "Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?" The sister replied, "Oh my God! I LOVE Brad Pitt! I would sleep with him in a heartbeat, are you nuts?!?!?" The boy then went to his brother and asked, "Would you sleep with Tom Cruise for a million dollars?" "Of course," the brother replied. "Do you know how much a million could buy?" The boy pondered the answers for a few days, then went back to his dad. His father asked him, "Did you find out the difference between potentially and realistically?" The boy replied, "Yes, Sir. Potentially, you and I are sitting on Three Million Dollars..........but realistically.........we're living with two Sluts and a Queer."
  12. Thanks for SOME of your replies, guys.. Yeah.. it's the soldering part that worries me most. It'll be MONTHS without my PC if they can't get it back to me before I leave for sea again. But I guess I'll just have to bite that bullet, and ship it to them. I'm very satisfied with Dell, actually.. No problem getting parts and stuff as long as I'm inside warranty time. I still have 4 weeks of warranty left, and I guess I'll make good use of it then. The external sound card would be my option if outside warranty, but I am keeping the haul-around to a minimum, as I fly a lot and this PC is a big chunk on its own. Once again, thanks!
  13. Well, having tried a few computer forums without any luck, I might as well give this beloved diverse community a try! My PC is a Dell Inspiron 9400 lappie, the sound device is SigmaTel 9xxx-series something. My problem: I lost my sound while playing a resource hungry game. (overheat?) -No sound in my speakers, and no sound in the 3,5mm out line. -The in line works, and so does sound through USB-connected speakers. -The post in BIOS where it's supposed to say: Onboard Devices -> Integrated Audio (on/off) is gone -The SigmaTel Card is still listed in hardware I tried to fix it myself by: -Mucking about for 4 days -reinstalling all drivers -formatting my HDD and reinstalling windows XP and all drivers -Upgrading my BIOS Dell Diagnostics returned an error code for sound: 1B63:111B ..The Dell technician I was in contact with interestingly said: "I Don't know what that means.." After mailing back and forth with Dell Tech Support, they tell me it's most likely my motherboard, and I have to send them the PC to replace it. Of course, I don't want to send it to them if I don't have to, so this is me asking you if you have any kind of advice as to what I can try on my own. And if it all comes down to replacing my motherboard, can I do it myself? Is there any soldering involved? Any particular thing that's extremely hard to do for a layman? I consider myself to be over average in terms of technical compentence btw. Of course, Dell's warranty is off if I do it myself, but I am willing to accept that. I'm at sea, so sending it in is a bit difficult, and I'd rather not be without my baby for too long. Any kind of help appreciated. Regards -Ape-
  14. Brilliant! But my damned Dell decided to lose all kinds of sound, 'cept USB connected sound.
  15. Smiles and giggles, just what I was aiming for Glad you people liked it!
  16. Is this a watch you own, evildee? I've been drooling over this watch for a while, and I consider buying it. Is it worth it, you think? Do you mind telling me a little about it?
  17. Norwegian news yesterday: "Reports from the crime scene indicate that the young norwegian was murdered in a most horrific way. An Australian man was apprehended at the scene screaming: "It was MY chapstick you thieving bastard! 12 years, and I didn't forget!!!" over and over." He was said to be wearing a nice watch. BTW: Happy to help, Robbie
  18. Hehe Pugwash! At least the hair does! Get a wicked tan and that trucker's shave and you and Baboo will be like separated at birth..
  19. I frequently use this site for Premier League Games, my swedish friend. I dunno about allsvenskan though. http://livefooty.doctor-serv.com/index.html Just follow the instructions after you click a link to a game, the (EN) games have english commentary. Even though the chinese commentary is fun, it gets to me after a while.. I prefer sopcast btw. You should install that. http://rapidshare.com/files/9514746/SopCast.zip TIP: Hook your PC up to a TV, as the resolution will fit a TV better than most PC monitors. It's not perfect, but It's free and easy.
  20. So you know your way around here then I always loved sailing past the little coves with their white sandy beaches, thinking that some of them must be relatively untouched by people, as the nearest roads and houses are 10kms away or more. If it had not been so far from my home I'd take my girls boating and set up camp in one of those norwegian lagoons. The sea is rarely warmer than 12-14 degrees though. I have friends in Svolvær, and I've been to the fishing festival there a couple of times. Good Times! I decided not to talk to much to my Liverpool supporting buddies.. And they have literally been avoiding me until today. I'm not one to rub it in too much, so I'll let this one go. My own elation is more than enough, so I don't need to put people down.
  21. Good for Beckham I think.. The risk of going back to England and flopping in West Ham or wherever is not worth it IMO. Still it's a bit sad that we won't see him as much. I still consider him one of the best right wingers of 'my' generation. He'll be all the rage in LA if he can start performing again, and his sponsorship deals will go through the roof. Looks like he's setting himself up for a comfy pensions fund. Good Luck David!
