  1. See? This thread is why I am a cat person..
  2. http://www.equationoftime.com/forums/showthread.php?p=10618 After reading this review, I want it a little more. But which is cooler? The rubber strap or the SS bracelet?
  3. I love your optimism, nanuq! There are enough people in the world with a great life and they still whine about minute details, and make it seem and sound like they are under the whip 22 hours a day. Lately I have got a real good feel of how it is to be a positive person when people around you all expect the worst. My 28 years of life have been pretty much free of adversity and trouble. The few small walls I've had to climb or walk around are not worth mentioning, at least not when I see good people who's had so much go against them through the years. I grew up on a tiny island on the norwegian coast, surrounded by water and about 80-90 relatives and friends. I see now that it was a great community! I'd love for my daughter to grow up like that, but it can't be done as the island is all but depopulated now, and people, including my better half, will not risk being the first to go back. But to justify clicking on the "Life is great" button: I have a wonderful little daughter and a girlfriend, totally devoted to me as I am to them, we are all in good health, I have a big, loving and helpful family, my friends are many and lojal and I live in a place where I can pretty much do what I want. Watersports in the summer, skiing in the winter.. Fishing the lakes and the fjords all year 'round. I am building a home for life next year, and I can afford to get it done just like I want it. They pay me well to go to sea, and I get 6months + at home every year. Life ain't too shabby!
  4. Ok, someone go up on the rooftop, and turn off the great big searchlight with the 'T' stencil.. Electricity is more expensive than rocking horse [censored] these days. And oh, please file the stencil under 'dealers' and 'T' so we don't repeat the incident we had here last week. Thanks -Ape-
  5. Watch? No it's a $500 45mm Sector DIVER 600 CHRONO .. Or sector copies them. I actually think it looks kinda cool.. At least for when you are taking your sniper rifle for a walk..
  6. Ofrei? Didn't he win the shot put for east germany in the 1968 Summer Olympics? We could start a looooong thread about the man on the moon thing.. Watches and conspiracy theorists go hand in hand.
  7. I'm sure in 35 years that's what they'll say about some of the watches people ooh and aah about today.. Like the PAM 187.... I like 70's design a lot, they had new materials to play with and people were on acid. Great site!
  8. My 111h from Andrew.. Came with a lovely tan strap. At $158 I think it's great.
  9. Well, it's been three days... My cousin is still held in an induced coma, but they have lowered the pressure inside the skull, operated on the damage to his body and organs, and are now waiting for the swelling of the brain to go down, then they'll see what's happened to his brain.. All vital functions are reported to be ok, and things are certainly looking a bit better than they did after the crash.
  10. Let's just face it; free speech for the dumb is often abused.. The moderators and admins are doing a great job on this forum, and they have to make a few unpopular decisions now and then. I've seen a few forums gone to the shits because of small problems and big egos, and I see closing threads as an ok way to deal with problems.
  11. And where would the guy loading that thing ride?
  12. You GOTS to watch yo' mouf on this board, you never know which way the [censored] shits. An innocent question could turn into a full blown row! It's a good sign that we have multiple strong personalities on this board.. I for one used to be a schizophrenic, but the doctor said we are doing better now.
  13. The customs discussion turned into a drug-haggle thread..
  14. Look at this! http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=10979&hl
  15. http://www.club-bugatti-france.net/jaeger8jours.jpg 8-days dashboard clock for your Audi A6?
  16. Ok, I tried the cheesy wine-and-watch sunday approach. Tell me how you like it! ..the Barolo that is.
  17. "when I accidentally walked into a steam shower" I was thinking DAMN! That's pizza baking temperatures.. Then I remembered you people are stuck in the olden days, and that's really 80 degrees Celsius or something. It's still hot though. I would have thought 30-40 was enough over time. This kinda reminds me of the time I was drying my sneakers in the oven, and they came out three times bigger.
  18. Yeah, didn't Pugwash snap a pic of that genuine in Thailand? http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=13159&hl
  19. I have to agree with most people here, Slay.. Those pics are nothing special to me.. I am no expert, but I am in a learning process. The reflections in his pics look burned out, over exposed. The dark areas and the dark pics look like they are under exposed, and he's tried to brighten them in PS. He's shooting with whitebalance in automode, that's rarely a good thing, and not in his case anyway. (I checked this model out when I was buying a new camera, and several reviews stated "very average automatic white balance performance") He's using a Canon EOS 300D DIGITAL, so he's got an "entry level" SLR, and lots of settings to tinker with. I also think he crops the photos too close, cutting off parts you'd normally want to see. I myself don't bother too much with my pics, I have a camera like Pugwash', but I do not have his skills nor interest. I get a lucky keeper shot of my baby girl now and then, when she decides to stand still for a split second. Our Panasonic FZs are inexpensive cameras and Pugwash gets a LOT out of it. I'm more of a fan of direct-from-camera pics rather than the ones that's had 'artistic' manipulation in PS.
  20. Ok, I am no fan of drugs at all.. But I have to say this! ..People here pay upwards of $150 for a gram of coke. I guess they tax that [censored] too in Norway!
  21. If I owned Rolex I am not too sure I would want my trademark showing up on too many dead, mutilated and bloated bodies.. It's strange how the human mind works, so it might dissuade someone from buying my overpriced watches sometime.
  22. I like tourbillons in a light cold case, on a nice cream dial, with plain hands and a small discrete date indicator.. Nothing too fancy.. And it's supposed to show half way out of the sleeve of a dark suit, holding a glass of Gin Tonic.. But I don't want to be too specific here..
  23. No problem.. Is it a do-it-yourself PVD job? It's not smooth like you normally see, 'specially on the lug-case transition.. Might just be wear though.. That being said, I don't have the first clue about PVD-anything at all.
