  1. You'll be happy to know I 'personally' fish around 8000 tons of them every year... ..that's like 25 - 26 million herrings!
  2. A clip filmed for Moore's "Sicko", not included in the actual film, but added to the Extras DVD. Of course, these are cherry picked moments from what they taped, but still.. He makes Norway look like a mighty attractive place. I love the prison warden that goes something like: "This man was convicted for cutting two people up with a chainsaw.....his last period here he was working in the forest.. ..with a chainsaw.." and smiles.. He knows how absurd it sounds.
  3. yeah.. and it's not the bitorrent client software that's illegal.. it's the stuff you download. Use an external harddrive and put it all there if you're worried. ..I'd be more worried about being caught for the replica watches than the torrents you download.
  4. Norway's got more hills than the Netherlands.. ..but do the downhills compensate for the uphills? Not that it's something to brag about, but the actual price in my town last week was $8.50 pr us gallon or 12.49kr pr liter. The Jeep Cherokee I had did 8,7 mpg.. That hurt.
  5. I'm just old enough to have learned the art on wooden skis.. hand-me-downs from siblings born in the 60's.. Growing up on an island without ski lifts, having to prepare the slopes by stomping up sideways on heavy slalom skis, I can appreciate the modern times. My daughter is getting her first pair of skis for christmas this year, a tradition in my family after their second birthday. Can't wait to see her make her first stumbling tries, and then see her get better and finally mastering it. ..my nephew got a sled for christmas last year, took it out on the snowy flat lawn and sat down on it, grabbed onto the wheel and frowned.. after a while of sitting there he went: "Uncle.. I think this thing is broken!"
  6. I too have met our dear king two times. And the first, during a regatta he was sailing, he was wearing an orange Omega Planet Ocean. I have also seen him with an Omega Yacht timer of some sort, looked well used.
  7. "NO WAY, Peng-lo! It's YOUR turn to pluck one from uncle Huang's scrotum!"
  8. Beautiful classic muscle, predfan! I hope you find time to restore the J-code to it's former beauty. I love the Mustangs, and plan to get one to play with when I get my garage up.
  9. I sense an underlying agenda to your CR-bashing, V.. There's NOTHING wrong with a man plucking his eyebrows a little to avoid looking like the deranged Dr. Nikolas Van Helsing in Cannonball Run. The same could be said for designer jeans and a little bag for your toiletries. I hate the guy more than most people, but come.. let him live it while he can, most portuguese men look like three kinds of [censored] after they hit 35. Being a fairly coarse man of 6'2 and 200lb I still see nothing wrong with looking man-pretty!
  10. How much is this thing worth? Will it win me the respect of my peers? I'm somehow more attracted to vintage watches, and I might take a shot at this. Seriously though, how much would be within reasonable limits for this? ...and please.. no jokes about gold sequin dresses.
  11. I work at sea, and the only mechanical watch I use here is my asian Omega Seamaster Pro GMT. I'm an engineer, so it gets beaten up quite bad from time to time when I'm working on stuff, it gets dunked in salt water, oil and sometimes diesel. It lives through temperatures from 35C to -15C. Building my house, I've had it on for some tough carpenting, rock splitting and concrete work. All of the above without any trouble 'cept the usual battle scars.
  12. Cool, Doc! I'll get a big '9' to stick on my car. ..I'll need to build up some stamina at sea though, it's amazing what 5 weeks at sea with a good cook can do to your general fitness.
  13. Thankee Thankee! It's all plated up inside now, ready for wallpaper and whatnot. I go to sea tomorrow morning, so I put my faith in good helpers to keep the momentum up while I am gone. I don't really have any new pics worth showing, it's just wallboards and filler at this point. I'll snap a few when the finish starts looking like something. We've changed the plans for the bathrooms a bit, looking for a steambath/bubble bath as well as the cabinet thing I posted a pic of earlier in this thread. I'm almost relieved I'm going back to sea, it's been a lot of work, and now they are chasing me around with the garage plans!
  14. If you don't mind me telling you: Don't use 'quick reply' when you're posting. Click the youtube option and you get (youtube][/youtube). Go to your selected clip, copy the letters that are behind the '=' in the youtube link, and paste them between the brackets in "(youtube][/youtube)". in your case it would be like (youtube)07u0Oj1RhyM(youtube).
  15. Fredrik Gulsvik, 18 years old, plays for Norwegian club Odd(sic) Grenland. He's just come on as a sub, and stepped up to the kick. -Instant fame-
  16. Thank God! I thought this was some kinda sick alaskan S & M! "Bring out the moose-gimp!"
  17. I'm fortunate enough to have several places I can call home. But my true home will always be our house on the island where I grew up. My parents still live there, and my father has made the old boat house into a little condo by the sea. This is where us kids go in summer to relax. You can fish from the seaside windows and lobster and crab are easily had 50-100 meters from the door. There's a little beach right next to it, and a floating pier where we start when we dive and watersport. No cars, everybody is related and it's 15 minutes from the city by boat. No better place for a kid to grow up. Picture taken from my cousin's FIB (Flying Inflatable Boat)
  18. In norwegian we mostly say "klokke" whether it's a wristwatch or a clock, "klokke" is also used for bells. The 'correct' term for the wrist-worn variety is "armb
  19. Nothing fancy today, just some Seiko-luv. The Seiko Samurai Titanium SBDA003 A great watch, not a fan of the titanium though..
  20. No, not the same car.. That's the BMW 5-series.. (Women!) ..the 550i is actually the same price as the S5 though, $216,000. I'd trade a little oil, some of the better football, one or two of the prettier girls and our worse weather for the swedish car prices any day.
  21. Yes sir, beautiful cars.. Been for sale in Norway since late september I think. My Audi-importing friend is expecting one for himself before christmas. ..unfortunately they start out at $75,000 for the base model here.. ..and end at $215,000 for the 354hp V8..
