Hi there, i was wondering if anyone could give a detailed tutorial on removing the datewheel function on an ETA 2846. To make the movement click to only 2 positions instead of 3? Also an inclusion of how it could be altered to non-hack would be awesome. I searched the forum for this and found that a member by the name Repaustria did a turorial, however i can't seem to find him as a member or a post by him. Did he get bannned? cheers!! PS: If you gurus have an extra few mins you could also maybe help chime in on: 1. i have a yuki pearl, it's hollow in the middle: what's the best thing for me to do to make it look like a vintage 5513 pearl? Must i put some stuff inside the hole? Should i toast it? Also i prefer the project to be non-lume just like authentic 5513. 2. i have a 5513 mbw dial coming in apparently with the lume in green, what should i do to kill the lume to make it authentic? Would popping it under some hot lights or toaster for a few secs do it? 3. I also have some tudor clark hands coming in. these apparently have a white lume? How do i kill the lume on that, toaster?

i have all my gen / aftermarket / 2846 etc parts ready just need the correct mbw case, it's either the 5513 or the 1680, a member from the RG boards brought to light that the mbw 5513 case has a slightly higher bezel than the gen 5513, the 1680 case however is also marked as 5513 on the lugs of the case but comes with a close to gen lower bezel, just comes with a cyclops crystal that can be easily swapped with my clarks t19. Just would like confirmation from some senior vintage modders that can chime in on which case 5513 or 1680 has the closest bezel replication of the gen 5513 so i can alter my order asap. Here is his beautiful 5512 made from a 1680 case, as you can see the bezel seems nice and low like the gen 5513, on mbw 5513 cases used for a 5513 project tend to have the higher bezel... http://repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=81107

Def using mbw old case, just need to know which case has the closer bezel, 1680 or 5513? From pics the 5513 bezel seems a lil high.. Close to a drsd bezel. Any vinty masters care to shed some wisdom on this matter?

I've noticed on another forum someone pointed out that the mbw old 5513 case had a higher bezel (drsd like) and would opt to use an old mbw 1680 case with a closer height lower bezel to begin a 5513 project. How accurate is this advise? Vintage rollie gods please chime in. Any help is most appreciated! I have everything ready now just need to confirm the case to bring my frankenstein to life... :-)

thanks alligoat! I have a 2486 i'm looking to swap with my a21j, Will i have problems with hand interchangeability? Also would it be possible to swap over the datewheel from a21j to eta 2846? simple one for one swap or must i do an overlay? you've been of great help alligoat!! thank you very much!!

If the 702 tube comes without the gaskets inside, is it possible to swap the 703 tube gaskets into the 702 tube? or are there aftermarket gaskets i could get off clark etc? for anyone else interested in this topic i found a good source: http://www.horologist.com/rolex_crown.htm
