  1. I have seen yesterday another gen DSSD dial for my friend and yes, it is matte too..... (sealed like the GMT II insert, shown on the pic).....

Then you will have to check with your optician because you gen dial is gloss... :winkiss:

  2. Gen DSSD dials are all matt black incase there is any confusion.

You are wrong. They are gloss...

But because the dial is not as black as eg a sub or gmt it sometimes looks matt...

The guy who did the (gen) Jacques Piccards DSSD for Philipp Stahl told me this. He has held 87 of them... ;)

Some pictures of a gen DSSD dial

You are right about the MK1 an MK2 though...

  3. Dial is gloss.

It sometimes looks matt because it is less black and more grey than other dials (eg Sub and GMT). But it is 100% gloss.

Gen insert will never fit a rep, totally different.

Dial could well be gen. Lume color is blue but often it turns out more green on pictures.

  4. Dip in phosphoric acid for one second than rinse in (al lot of) water and repeat that process until you have the aging you want... You should be able see some aging after one dip...

What do you think al those sellers of aged inserts on VRF use to age their inserts??? They buy an insert voor approx. 30-40 USD, age them and sell them for hundreds of USD...

  5. I attach a comparison, which shows the crown difference, the one on the... oh never mind :-) you can see which is which straight away now.

    Well... Not really! LOL!

and I think the shot you added topt your comment is a gen... Just look at the pearl... I think they are two different watches...
