Comparing the gen 39mm abd the rep 39mm is not a big difference. It is true, about the Shaff.... writing, but you have more or less the same issue in the Ingy. What I have looked for is a gen dial, and this rep will be perfect (excep AR). I do not know why this rep is not a best seller, with all the people criying for the Big Pilot (A super watch, but I could not have in my wirst, tooooooo big!!!!)

I have the 39 mm and I have in my hand also the original: the dial is verz accurated!!! Totally. The only big difference is the inner circles, but in the gen is not so noticiable like in the photos. The big issue for me is the AR. Not itself: because you can not enjoy the dial

Not necessary. Plexiglass will be perfect. I do not expect to have many problems in the back of the watch. And plexiglass is use in many good reps, and old gens. If it is cheapo plastic, it will be more inconvenient. But, lets wait what comes. In the photos, I see nothing wrong.

No, is not a problem to be popular or not. Is to be correct or not. And you have been totally correct. And it is if the USA has more GPD or not. Rolex is the most selling mark in USA, but IWC is more know in EU. For example. And yes, a lot of americans come to Spain, to buy mexican hats. Most of the reps in the world are buyied in south asia. But I think (just my opinion), that a bigger % of the high end reps, than 20% are sell into specializated webs like this forum. May be I am wrong.

I can say that Turkey, is one of the ports of goods to EU: goods or bads, from Heroin to textils. They distribute to markets in south EU (Italy and Spain specially). It is not that USA is not first world: is that the first world buy these goods (bags, gold, watchs) in the turistic travels, in Turkey, India, etc. You can not go to Texas, Stuttgart or Oslo, and have the open markets of reps like in Bangcok. Even in Spain you use to see a lot of watches in the streets, but within the EU rules, you can see it less. Now you see some balck people or chinese with CDs, DVDs, and some small things. Not stores. I am also afraid about the price. A lot. But one thing: a lot of people say that our reps can go with most of gens. They improve. Also the price. I like to have it for 250 dolars, but I think we are gona see it between the 350 and 400. Lets see.

The only problem is not the price itself: it is that the maker fixes the price, so no group buy and no deal. That makes everything a little bit complicate.

I said sometiem ago, that the reps boards are in real danger. With all the stupits making apology of reps in the gen forums, going to ADs and so on.. @Tim: your argument is for my understanding wrong: a luxus watch is a luxus, so they can charge what ever they want. It is not bread or water or eneergy. It is a luxus, so what is the thing with "I obviously delude myself by thinking that there should be some reasonable correspondence between the price it costs to make something and the actual list price." There is no reasonable correspondance in luxus items.

Soory Pix, but what is that? it is "not lethal". It is a bit strange. We are not talking abouit if the penalty for buying reps is death or just a fine. Yes, purchasing reps is not legal. It is nice, and I like it. But we can not say that is not stealling. I download music, films and software. Just because it is easy, and I started to download music back in the midd-90s, with out napster and with finding the codecs in warez webs. But I know that I buy less music, I buy no DVD, and I buy less watches. Ahhh that is the question: I did not buyed gens because they were to expensive for me. But I still do not buy gens, because, the ones I can pay, I find them most here, with our dealers. It is the same with music: at the school, I must thing a lot to buy an album. Know I have the money to buy some cds, but I look in emule. But I really know what I am doing. I do not like the RIA (o what ever is in USA) (in spain SGAE), and I do not like this people. But I know that I am not paying. More, when I download a film or music, I pay just for the conexion (at least is in my country, and they pay taxes here). But when I buy a rep, I pay for guys in Asia, that produce in Asia, and sells most from Asia, and do not pay a dime, in EU (were all the watches are branded), and I do not think (I am sure) they pay taxes for the reps bussiness in Asia (china or whatever). I do it. I buy reps, but I do not fool myself or someone saying "the thing is that the gens are too expensive, they are overprice". If you think it, buy a casio for 10 dolars. Was for everyone I like more the Sea as the Sub (but it will be very funny all the people saying "it is a fake!, It do not have the lens" I know about the issues in the Sea cases, but I could not clrify if the MBW Seas has a better case or not (in modern). It is clear in vintage. I hope someone could avice me... thanks!
