  1. I think you might be right about the updated model, with regards to the hands issue. I know that everyone on TRC was on Angus to tell his factory guy to change the font of 'automatic' from the red that he'd used for his prototype to the white that is more common....only to discover that there's another (I believe more recent) model that actually DOES have the red lettering...but no one had yet seen it cause it was just released.

  2. there was a post somewhere by Andrew (Trustytime.com) regarding to tt solid 14k gold. He indicated in the post that there was no such thing as 14k solid midlinks regardless of how you prove it.

What to you guy think about it?

We are dealing with products supplied by an industy that is based on lies.

Why should we be surprised when what is described by these factories as "solid gold" turns out to be "solid replica gold"?

  3. Try watchprince.com (in Oregon). They have a wide selection of croc and alligator straps and, I think, can put a deployment buckle on any of them. Then there's also banda.com.

I'm also wanting a black, top quality, crock/alli strap for my iwc (must have "IWC" on the buckle)!

Do I have to go gen to get this?

    Cheers.

(sorry to butt in on your thread ;) )

  4. I dont think its a big deal...the genuine date wheel will be pricey and may not fit...mine looks great as is.

Mine looks great too - only my eyesight is not good enough to properly see the day or date (I can see the day date on the gen though - saw one at an AD)

  5. Hi there,

I am just wondering how people over here balance their bracelet while adjusting it. By balance I mean the way links are deleted or added on both sites of the bracelet. I don't know, does it look strange if one site of the bracelet is a lot longer than the other site? I guess the clasp should be in the middle or not?

Please let me know the etiquette...

I always take the links off the 6 o'clock side - it sits better on my wrist this way. The bracelet is sometimes much longer on the 12 o'clock side, but it looks and feels correct when I am wearing it.

  6. nice watch.... *sign*... I knew a rep was coming out for this sooner or later.

the only flaw i can phsically see is the blue chronograph hand's are way too light. it almost looks turquiose. The gen is really dark metallic blue.

And are the numerals applied? it looks like it from the photos. the gen numerals are raised from the dial.

Other than the rose gold hands/numerals and the strap, the rep doesn't look that bad. Chrono hand could be a little darker though, but just nit picking :)

  8. I've been researching all the available case openers and my brain is spinning - there are SO many varieties!

    I have the following reps:

    Breitling (Bentley GT)

Omega (Speedmaster, PO, SMP, Double Eagle)

    Pam (192 Tantalium)

    Rolex (YM, Sub LV)

    Tag (Link chrono)

I now want to adjust the acuracy of each of them. I need case openers of course.

Can anyone advise me of the best to get (within reasonable cost)?

    Thanks for your help :victory:
