  1. I had purchased 3 watches through George. The first being the Yachtmaster and it was great work, fantastic. the next was the two tone submariner, waited along time, it was not so great. 3 different shades of gold on it. Looked worse than the cheapest knock off.

The last watch, is the SeaDweller, and I have waited since february 2009, and have had no response to any communications since January or February of this year. I have pretty much accepted that I have lost my money, and will never see this watch. I hope I am wrong, but there is nothing leading me to believe otherwise.

If anyone has heard other wise, would like to know.

My BK TT sub is great. Received it last July. Gorgeous. One nice shade of gold. Well made, keeps great time, feels excellent. Right up there with the many other great comments the watch received back at that time.

Sounds like sometime the parts became scarce and different pieces were substituted in attempt to finish deliveries. That's a shame. Now this watch will have a pre-WM9 problems version and a post-WM9 problems version. A shame for such a great watch.

  2. It is certainly looking like there will be satisfactory resolutions, so once more, I would just like to say kudos to those who have made these resolutions possible, as that truly is the spirit of the community :good::victory:

+1 TeeJay. No place for anyone trying to claim credit. The forum is all about community, and not personal issues/needs. Let's hope the remaining buyer gets sorted out too!

  3. You pretty much got it, Lanikai. When we all start piling on, nothing meaningful occurs other than some venting. However, if we take a reasoned approach based on experience with and understanding of human nature (both the good and bad sides of it, cultural differences, the need to save face, etc, etc), and approach resolution of problems such as this as efforts in negotiation and mediation (which we know are professional fields of endeavor), then positive things may happen. That was all...sort of a commentary on our little "community herd".

    Best wishes to all parties,

  4. It's up to us. We can run the seller off, or make it easier for the buyers to be taken care of. Sometimes we can't have everything we want when we want it. This seller has gone from "screw you" to, at least, promising to refund and making good on one refund. Personally, I feel good for the buyer/member who got some money. And I'll feel better if all the others get their due, and worse if impatient members with no horse in the race screw up the works. ;-)

  5. Great Suchecracks. Solid proof it was worth working with the guy, and giving him some time and patience rather than constant bashing, just as you sought.

But that's just one of the sales problems, so now let's see how Xslyyx does with the others.

Xslyyx - if you sort out and refund the others, you can put this problem behind you and move ahead on the forums.

  6. Ok!

If the watches hasent appear at end of Feb....I will refound money back....That is a promise

But what if they appear after that?

    xslyyx

This is likely your only chance to keep your reputation on the forums. You have made a promise. Now you just need to keep it. You should stop any attempt to sell any watch on any of the forums between now and the end of February. If, in two and a half weeks, the buyers come here and tell you they haven't received watch, you make a full refund to them.

If you make this promise in good faith, and if you follow-through when the time comes, I am sure you can rely on the buyers to act in good faith also. They have already promised to send the money back to you if the watch arrives. They have already proved they are not scammers. They committed to buy a watch from you and sent you the money upfront.

You will have to check in with the guys who run RG (sfa???) to see about your status there. I would hope that if you keep this commitment, everyone can just hang loose for a couple weeks as long as they don't feel you are making this promise just to be able to keep selling watches in the meantime. So you have to stop selling. Then let the situation play out, make refunds if you have to, and then recover your reputation in the community.

It's a win-win! Too bad for the buyers that they have to wait a couple more weeks, but it is a lot better than not getting their money back with no watch in sight!

  7. If u do not recive watches by end of Feb, contact me then. Untill then......f off

Since you told these buyers who have yet to receive their watches to screw off until the end of February, and then contact you if not received, is that your commitment to give 100% refund to all these buyers at that time if watches not received?

Robert Deniro (your avatar) is an actor. Sometimes he portrays a crook or con artist, but he doesn't live his life that away. Get real.

  8. Just call it the way I see it, Lani, like everyone else here is encouraged to do. Trying to fit in without stirring things up. :clapping:

But I thought someone might have been confused by TT's post 'bout censorship following mine, so glad to be able to clear it up.

  9. For me, I can't say I have seen anything expressed that would arise from fear. I have seen feelings of disappointment, disrespect, and concerns over motivations. Perhaps those are the overarching reasons that have led to the posts herein.

I started my rep "involvement" here at RWG. Since then, I've found and joined all the other forums. I've read with keen interest, and sometimes fascination, about the knowledge and skill sharing that goes on. I've read the many keen perspectives offered. I checked out the old TTK threads. I waded through the "cartel" debacle. I bought a watch from Josh (don't kill me RWI'ers :thumbsupsmileyanim:) and I liked it. I'm on Bk's list for another watch.

I am a member everywhere and looking for a "home base" from which to foray. Drama is for the insecure and I don't have much use for it except in the theatre.

With heartfelt honesty, I don't see how this thread on this site could have gone anywhere other than where it has. And the people who run this place know these things much better than I. It's a shame to see the sense of support and comraderie between the forums harmed in this manner.

As for me - I'd much prefer seeing pics of a midget dragging a 50mm Uboat around on his arm! :clap2:

PS: I did not say one word about a midget in drag! :bangin:

  10. Yep. A very useful thread, full of innuendo, suspicion and opinion: few truly objective facts that I can discern, but perhaps those present are useful.

Someone, somewhere, had a clear motivation for this thread. If it was to give LoS an opportunity to speak, that has happened. If it was to badmouth RWI, that has happened. If it was to attract RWI members to RWG, that has happened. If it was to cause animosity, that has happened. If it was to claim self-righteous non-censorship, that has happened.

Whatever the reason, it seems the purpose is served.

    :tease: Trainwreck a comin'?

  11. I have difficulty seeing a thread in an internet forum as a fact-finding investigation. No one is under oath or subject to penalty. Posters have personal motivations. Emotions and rumors run rampant. This will not lead to truth, but rather many opinions and lots of hearsay ("X" told me he saw it or "X" told "Y" who told me). Nothing wrong with that, as long as we don't lose sight of it.

"Chase after truth like hell and you'll free yourself,

even though you never touch its coat-tails."

  12. Lanikai had a question and I answered it...

and now that an answer has been made, we can move on...

What effects the community matters to everyone...

I would agree that discussion of how a staff of another board treated a situation should not be tolerated out of respect for that which may not be known... but this was not the case here...

Great class on both your parts, Lanikai and LoS.

  13. As a neutral forum, and with several members from RWI visiting while their home is being rebuilt, I don't see any reason why this sort of topic can't be discussed here?

I hear you. And I don't suggest that it "can't" be discussed, just that it might not be the best place for it (especially while RWI is down for a bit). I've gained a sense, from reading all 4 forums, that the leadership of each maintains a mutual respect and trust for the others and maintains a hands-off approach to internal issues and policies of the others. But that is just a sense I have gained, and I haven't been around very long at all so I could be way off.

One thing is for sure, there is a lot to learn here.

  14. Ok Jack, no harm no foul. It's just that there Is always two sides to a story, always. I guess my point Is that Josh and Andrew might have made some poor choices In the past, OK fair enough, who hasn't? Tony could have also made some better decisions as far as the pics are concerned. Maybe this thread will be a wake up call. :g: I purchase from both of these dealers. I just dont think It's fair to call Tony a scam artist. That may suggest that he rips members off, he's a good guy who sell's a good product. This has been my experence :) Mike

The Machiavellian twists from the past are fascinating. Interesting.

Just for the record - I never called Tony a scam artist: that was a different poster. I only pointed out that I don't like his practice, established in this thread, of sometimes using another's pics. Is there no honor among...counterfeiters?

But the fact that Tony takes PayPal does say something positive for him. In fact, a PayPal dispute is what started this whole thread. So...back to whatever the hell that was all about.

  15. think it's funny to complain about stealing photos when you are talking about counterfeit watches

I hear you. It is definitely funny for me to holler...

"I expect my counterfeit dealer to have good business ethics."

It's a bit (hell, a lot) counter-intuitive . But that is the reason I joined here, to find some honesty in this business. Lol. I know - sounds strange, but I am glad there is a "RWG". And I am glad there are great members like you and Lanikai who have built this place for newbie's to find.
