He was removed from as trusted dealer from RWI since he has a lot of unfinished projects and ARs. He was MIA for quite some months, the phones were switches off and no email replys.

Now he is back and according to him, he is willing to sort out all the pending issues, but only time will tell.

Well i am sorry to tell you guys but i have seen this problem long before and i can assure you that IWC 3717 comes ONLY with silver center hands, there isn't and as far as i know wont be any version of 3717-01 made with black center hands.

As far as factories is concerned i can also tell you there are several factories making hands for IWC and you probably just got from a sloppy one. This being said i saw a set of hands with black center parts in the past and yes they seem to be good quality as well but for some reason they have painted the center pin, i guess its easier for them, not sure why it happen that way or if it was just a mistake.

This being said if you like them that's the important thing, you will have a custom one.

Ps: I find it funny modelizer that you say that getting a damage hand (or one from each color) is a faulty from factory and not from the one who supplied you the parts. i would never, ever ship something like that to any of the members that get them from me. And if i got them from factory like that, they would be shipped back straight away or i would take the cost myself.

As Mike said they are very hard to source since its an expensive watch and IWC is very picky on BP parts. Not to mention the fact they dont really like to sell parts, but rather get your original watches fixed by themselves.

This being said with enough patience "almost" every part can be sourced.... waiting time can be big.

I saw video of the 3799 posted by josh.

3799 has two chrono second needles. Frm what I see on the video posted, if u reset the chrono second needles, its not as smooth as the gen. Maybe you guys can judge for yourself when they compare the rep to the gen in the video. Pay attention when they reset the chrono second needles. You'll notice there is a difference.

independent of which version you pick, there will always be a difference from the performance of the replica movement to the genuine one (specially the chrono function), thats also why there is a significant price difference between them. You cant expect a cheappy Chinese replica movement perform as good as the genuine....

This is my absolute favorite of all the IWCs. As far as I know, Concepta doesn't even offer these.

Its not possible to make a franken since subdial spacing is wrong in all 5001 rep versions. They would have to make a fauz power reserve version to allow that.

Its a good looking one nevertheless. wear it well.

crowns are relatively easy to obtain but it not possible to get genuine cases for 3714 so far.

so for now, modding the rep case is the only option...

indeed fish crown was used until 2004, models during/after 2004 are with probus scafusia crown. Same for double AR.

Also many of the 3714 models we currently see are post-2004 so therefore come with the new crown.

indeed, its possible to obtain 3717 genuine cases but not 3714 cases.

Genuine tubes for the 3714 are almost indistinguishable from the rep ones, so everybody is good with the rep ones. Genuine crowns are nicer (probus scafusia vs. fish ones).

With double AR and brushed caseback, it looks pretty accurate as per gen, some minor tells, but pretty good already.

Apart from the quality of the materials, for day/datewheel change it should pretty much the same...

if you follow that tutorial and do it carefully, you wont have any problems...

strange, measured 2 gen dials from 3717 and 3714 and both measure the same 3,43cm

Are you 100% sure that the one you have is a genuine one? and its a 3717?

Nobody measures their dials? I've seen so many Spitfire chronos that have been taken apart, yet none have measured the dials?

Dont have a digital caliper but i have just measured it on a gen dial especially for you
