Hi DVNE
Welcome ! the bezel pops off with ease by inserting carefully a pen knife between the case and the bezel
raffles items takes about 3 weeks to arrive
Thanks freddy ! yes i have been thinking about enhanced patination i never go for the factory fresh look ! i have been in contact with helenarou and his is working on a black bay project using this case which includes a rose engraved crown actually he will adapt the black bay parts to fit on this case although it will still be custom instead of exact replication,
i would like to matt the glossy dial and find a correct colour insert !
Still can not make my mind up with the inserts Red or brown ! so i have asked helenarou to supply me with a spare bezel so that i can altenate between both colours without riskiing any damage to the inserts !
Looking Great ! love the chocolate dial very authentic ageing And the leather strap makes it more so ! I doubt there are many gens with those spring stretch riveted bracelets mose were thrown away years ago ! these builds show no need for expensive cases and movements ! after spending 2500 usd on my first franken , and at the end of the day with a bit more cash i could get a gen sub or tudor !
Wait and see how it turns out first ! even if the guilt type colour is not exact and i believe you can not tell by photos alone manufacturer photos always make the watches look better than in the flesh with studio lighting, and colours are never exact the black bay is supposed to be based on the vintage tudor subs and these were guilt dials for me if they get the case shape and printing and finish correct and crisp then im in !
Do we have any supplier for tudor shield clasps not the short raffles ones, the full sized ones i ordered the raffles short one but the clasp is stamped GENEVR I i thought about cutting splicening the tudor shield logo and fitting it onto a sterile buckle with the tudor flat extensions clasps as they are full sized, but there is no point now that the clasps are wrongly stamped gens go for 300usd and are rare !
If the blemish at 4 oclock is a little bit of lume that is out of the dot/curcle you could try to remove it carefully with a tooth pick (no guaranties mind you) i have removed excess lume this way as the tooth pick is softer than the matt black dial surface try to blunt the end down a bit !try it a bit at a time with a lobe and stop if you think it may damage your dial !
