yep I didnt remove crown guard and the reason its broke. I just got a set of small screwdrivers and while they fit, cant get the screws on the crown to budge.
good news is the stem is out of both the movement and the crown thanks to you!
now how do i get the crown guard screws out and when do I purchase a new stem? thanks for all of your help. this site rocks!
Thanks!
yes, the stem is broke. I was calling it a link. It is what links the crown to the movement, the stem, correct? Forgive me, Im new. I did check the repair section and see three sponsors, which all seem to be about modifying. I havent seen anything to do with repairs. Can you please point me in the right direction, have a link?
Hey guys,
I had the the minute hand come out on a Power Reserve. So I got the rubber bal off ebay and tried to fix it myself. Got the hand back on but managed to crack the link that holds the crown. Part of it is still attached the movement and part is still in the crown/ Looks like it broke right in the middle. I called the local jeweler but he wont work on reps and one that ive already had apart. Is there a sponsor of this site I can send it to for repair? Im bummed, loved this watch. Pardon the quality of pics,I just snapped some quick pics from my cell phone. Ill get better ones if you need.
