  1. Need a little help from Sub-heads here...I've been communicating with DSN re few things, oversized cyclop included. He would like to know what is the gen 24/25 cyclop size so that he can make the correct one on his second run? His current cyclop is 7.5mm, I believe gen 24/25 before G-series had 6mm cyclops? Gen and franken Sub owners, could you provide your input here, please? Thanks! BTW, the CG, crown and DW will stay, they won't change as it's been confirmed by DSN himself. The missing 1860 CB engraving will also be fixed in the second run. cheers, b
  2. They're both true to gens, mate :-) Actually that was the very reason DSN delayed his Sub release, the first batch of 24A had 60 clicks by mistake. All good...:-)
  3. Nope mate, 100% A/R first made it's inroads on some C-series models and from then on, D-series onwards, all the models had it. cheers, b
  4. Some bits are so close to 1:1 it's actually scary, IMO. The dial looks great so do hands and polished cannon pin. Bezel is great on both models. What isn't good are the standard DSN 'signature' bits like thin DW font, thin CG and crown with over-beveled teeth, chunky mis-shapen lugs and roughly engraved caseback. Most of these bits can be fixed, unfortunately not without extra $$ added to the mix. The DW mag is slightly larger than it should be, and there's missing 1860 on the 24A caseback. Both of these are minor, and shouldn't be hard to fix in his second production run. All in all, a nice product IMO...with few bits to be addressed by modding and replacing
  5. Looks very nice as is, really does. However it appears that Rolli doesn't believe you yet ...so you better post few more pics - LOL! The 27A caseback from Jakob's latest CB run would complement it even more, IMO. cheers, b
  6. Must admit I've never seen a better done 'matching dial' 201/A in its rep form. Big thumbs up on dial and hands finish, mate!
  7. Top-notch stuff H...I'd expect nothing less from you Good to see you back...
  8. Very nice...love the cannon pinion on that PR
  9. Drule, again...Andrew has responded that the pictures aren't of the new models, but old ones that aren't available anymore. The pictures are still remnant in the database and appear under under random "new products for July" screen in Panerai section if you keep refreshing the screen long enough. He apologized for a confusion. The $888.00 isn't generic pricing, that was the retail price of Andrew's ETA7750 powered 188 and 196 models before got discontinued in early '09. Not sure why is this so hard for you to savor, best to contact Andrew directly, like I did few days ago.
  10. Funny, you seem to know more about them than the dealers working with rep factories on these models...
  11. Good looking watch, mate! It's actually a PAM061... brown dial, L-Swiss-L, etc ;-) Enjoy!
  12. I've ordered a bunch of case back gaskets for 44mm Pam case few weeks ago from JacksonTse. These are going for abouut dollar each + $2 for shipping worldwide. He also lubes them with silicon grease before shipping. Basically all other watch parts dealers are out of these gaskets, even watchmakers like Zig-gy has been unable to source them in recent times...so grab them while you can ;-) 44mm Pam case gasket As for the good Ti CG these days nothing really beats the new-style DSN Ti CGs, slightly incorrect but definitely the best of the bad bunch at this moment. It also features rubber shims installed on top and bottom of the lever holes to prevent the 'floppy lever' effect. DSN Ti CG Have fun! b
  13. Unfortunately nothing more than a rumor at this stage New Daylights
  14. Nah, just received a confirmation email from Andrew...not even close :-) He didn't have an approximate release date, either. Let's just hope these rumored models will actually come out before this Christmas ;-)
  15. My bet is the lugs are chunky DSN-type Judging by the look and feel of the CG it's one of the recent Ti case-sets from DSN, but let's see the photos first ;-) Eddie you're right, this is one of those DSN watches you sometimes get really nicely surprised with, out-of-the-box. Wear it well! b
  16. W, I've bought one of the early JFZu casesets including Sapphire xtal and gasket from him as soon as they apperared on eBay. The Sapphire xtal 'snapped' into the bezel perfectly. I believe the case maker changed the bezel xtal 'bed' diameter once the Sapphire xtals were replaced by mineral xtals, or something similar. We'll never know exactly what happened along the way, I guess. cheers, b
  17. Whoever's thinking this will sell for less than 2.5k because it was bead-blasted must be dreaming. I haven't seen this particular watch for sale, but if the rest of the bits are still in gen form and unless the seller is desperate to offload it, IMO this should sell closer to 3k than 2k as suggested by some. Would you mind sharing the sale ad link with us, BB? Anyway, let's wait and see...
  18. Not an expert, but depending on the price (and I'd use the fact it was b/blasted as a bargaining chip here, if I were you) I'd get it and send it too to Avitt or Zigg-y for DLC/PVD treatment. The PVD Base Logo is slowly establishing itself amongst the gen collectors as a classic hand-wind Panerai piece. IMO you can't go wrong with that decision. cheers, b
  19. Two beauties, for sure!
  20. Yes they do mate, the pre-V 201/A for example was a spring-load type, as well as all the others that followed until this day. These were the type with two rubber o-ring seals installed on the crown nexk, rather than inside the crown tube, and came in that config on pre-V, pre-A and some A-series crowns. cheers, b
  21. Wow, just look at that case finish! The wrong bezel that used to come on recent 196/250 reps has finally been fixed...so who's the dealer, do you or Pete know? If this is a sign of things to come (the new 188/196/250/250 reps from "Hublot" factory as promised by cartel dealers few months back) I better start saving now :-) cheers, babola
  22. Very nice result...pre-V and PVD - what's not to like! I wish Jakob starts using a little more 'believeble' serials on the casebacks, though 200 isn't that bad at all.
  23. Wow, just look at that dial texture...great look!
