  1. Top photo shows a Fiddy (127) rep with the latest ultimate E-series Swiss ETA 6497 movement. The photo shows the latest Davidsen's Fiddy with that mov't. Bottom photo shows Davidsen's 177H. Which exact mov't (Swiss or Asian) is shown here is hard to speculate without seeing the blowout photos of the movement first. babola
  2. I AM a Cro, bro ! Keep up the good work mate, speak to you soon babola
  3. Not if I decide to return...LOL! Great collection Dado, nevertheless babola
  4. I can talk about the blue dial rep version SFSO...so read on: - rounded dial numerals (12, 6, 9 o'clock), they're flat on a gen - blue dial color is slightly lighter than current blue gen SFSO which comes with deep electric blue dial - white dial txt is crisp white on a gen, slightly subdued on a rep - lume missing on quarter markers on chapter ring - 15, 30, 45 min bezel markers are wider on a gen - small Breitling logo engraved on a bezel side is placed closer to the 12 o'clock marker on a gen, it's centred between 11 and 12 o'clock on a rep - gen bezel is more 'flat top' and the edge forms sharp corner between the top and the edge, rep one is more 'rounded'. (This is not visible from the photos, you have to realy hold them both in your hand to notice the diference) - bezel retaining screws are slightly recessed on the rep - case lug ends are rounded on a gen, sharp on the rep - bracelet solid end links are somewhat protruding from the top of the lugs on a rep, they're just ever so slightly recessed on a gen - bracelet clasp is inferior to the gen one, fit and finish is simply not there yet ...plus the things you mention... I'm sure there will be more 'faults' to pinpoint by others, but the fact remains - it's the BEST rep I ever owned ! cheers, babola
  5. You're not far from the truth Alan, the SFSO rep was copied from the early production gen SFSO X-Plus, that came with a slightly diferent dial compared to the latest gen SFSO. The rep is EXTREMELY close to that particular early gen batch, however thare are still small 'faults' and tells just like with any other rep...they don't bug me much, though. cheers, babola
  6. Mov't while aesteticaly not bad, it's crappy modified single-barel Asian 6497 with fancy bridges, that's all. It ain't 8-days either ;-) I'd stay away from it for now. cheers, babola
  7. Paid on 8th Aug...not heard from him ever since :-( Not cool... babola
  8. @Rolexman Exactly my thoughts! Even the variations of details and finishes on the single Breitling GEN model (SFSO- XL size) is mind numbing... - thick date window on first batch of SFSO X-Plus (just check some of those eBay photos of gens for sale) - straight letter 'S' line - on the early batch, again. - rounder 12, 6 and 9 o'clock numerals (old batch) - lighter blue dial like the SFSO rep (the latest genuine SFSO comes with a highly pronounced deep-blue metalic dial effect on blue and black models - rep blue and black dials are not quite there yet) - the very latest 07 gen SFSO comes with slightly thicker hour/minute hands and arrow tipped second hand which is IMO so wrong for a Superocean - the squared second hand should have stayed, the arrow tipped one looks more like a GMT hand to me Anyway, all things considered, I still stand by what I said some time ago - IMO, the SFSO is THE BEST and THE CLOSEST rep watch ever made (so far anyway) cheers, babola
  9. Slightly different watch this time, though. The previous one was listed @298 + P&P, and came in e0581/1950 (slightly "off" case), had Hybrid Swiss/Asian 6497-1 mov't in it (mostly Asian bits, yet still advertised as Swiss), 'exploding' mineral glass (good A/R and distorsion, though) good thick black superlumed sandwich dial and hands, although the hands were inferior to DSN ones since they came with sexagonal tube, not a nice look at all since even if you fixed the short pin issue, the sexagonal tube shape was still visible, even without the loupe. The only plus in that watch was the dial, with nice off-white/cream dial txt. I had that Fiddy as well, I was initially attracted to it's reasonably low price for a "swiss" Fiddy, since then - xtal exploded, sent the dial & case to DSN for new "implants" and unfortunately sold it :-( in anticipation of the Ultimate...had I only known back then how prized and elusive the thick (and matte black) Fiddy rep dial will become these days ...I really should have kept the dial alone... The latest Andrew's Fiddy is quite diferent from that one, and the only bit worth the $$ in it is the movement and the case without xtal, that's all, IMO. I'd give it a miss if I were you, especially at that rediculously inflated price. cheers, babola
  10. The spare dial is pretty good mate, I'd definitely re-lume it and swap the existing one. Here's another photo of a gen for reference, as you can see, your spare dial is quite close. Link cheers, babola
  11. I know mate, I've got latest DSN Fiddy as well It appears that the latest batch of Fiddy dials as used on 'ultimate' versions by diferent dealers, has the same issue - light brown dial txt. They seem to be made by the same dial factory. The dial also seem to have a thinner top sandwich layer, and slightly wrong number 1 tip in 12 o'clock. Cream/off-white dial print on original EL from last year and older Andrew's Fiddy that came in e0581/1950 case was the best print I've seen on rep Fiddy dials so far, and I've owned 4 diferent ones in the last two years. I'm in a process of sourcing a spare 'old' Fiddy dial with lighter dial print soon from another member, for a swap on my DSN Fiddy, fingers crossed babola
  12. Honestly, I'm loosing my patience with having to pay thru your nose for something so substandard, and it's not only the latest Fiddy these dealers offer, it's just about every other 'half-decent' rep. Just as I believe many others from these forums, I did bring this many times to the likes of Andrew, Joshua etc...where I basically told them they can't expect much business from us in the future while expecting us to pay exorbirant and grossly inflated prices they advertise on the Internet for general public. It all fell on deaf ears...of course... Not to worry, we all know better anyway, there are many others we could/should deal with...like DSN, King, Trevor, Ruby... etc. just my two cents, babola
  13. - Non existent lume - Dial indices too yellow - Long cannon pin but minute hand tube needs shortening - Dial txt (Luminor Panerai, 1950) too dark - Xtal of questionable material and quality...anyone still remembers Andrew's exploding Fiddy xtals ? LOL! - Price tag of $410+ delivered ...which begs the question - why would you even consider this one over DSN's latest Fiddy... babola
  14. Actually, just had a look at the dial once again - no need for re-lume for whiter look, it's good as is ! cheers, babola
  15. Hiya Rick, well as a Luminor nut...here's few quick thoughts. If I were you, I wouldn't do either ...I'd actually build a 002B-L. 2B is one of Panerai's 'transitional' models, with first few hundred of the B-series being made with Tritium 'T Swiss T' dials, and the rest with Luminova 'L Swiss L' dials. Considering all the kit you already own, 2B-L would be IMO a perfect fit (bar aged dial), base L Swiss dial, polished CG, Sapphire xtal without A/R, and the B-series solid S/S caseback which is easy to find these days. In this case, I'd send the dial to The Zigmeister for another re-lume, this time in C3/C1 mix (close to 2/3-C3 and 1/3-C1). He's done one of sausage dials of mine in this mix and it simply rocks, yellow-ish color is still dominantm but diluted with a hint of white, and glows like a torch. If you decide to keep the Base "tritium-look" dial as is, and go for 2A or 2B-T (both actualy come with T-dials), I'd still send the dial to The Zigmeister to "fix" the letter 'L' into a 'T' under 6 o'clock. He's done this for another forumer here on his 029 dial, just check with him first, of course . 112G wouldn't be a good choice IMO, simply because it comes with a display back (and you don't exactly have a OPXI G-series mov't to show ) and the crown is thicker and brushed. 02B-L would be my favourite choice for another reason - when strapped to your wrist - it is 002B, 112E and 112F at the same time - all in the one watch !!! Happy modding ! cheers, babola

Wow, nice MM, and definitely nice GEN Zero Base...here's some of mine: 000G, 002B, 112F cheers, babola

  20. Vic, I know you know this already...but here's a little statistical fun for ya: 754 posts 59 straps 10 watches ...all this in LESS THAN 2 MONTHS ! Gee girl, wonder how's your boyfriend coping so far does all this leave any time for a poor fella, his patience must be running out by now, no ? Or is he part of all this madness too ? Anyway, good on ya girl, your collection is impressive, to say the least ! cheers, babola
  21. Wow, who would have said, eh ?! Thanks for this myth buster, mate. That JymmyFu CG on your 029 certainly rounds up the whole watch appearance rather nicely cheers, babola
  22. The same info on 000 & 005 that I've received from a reliable source I was also told that the same maker will soon begin work on a new updated 005 dial, so guys - let's sit and wait ! Vicky, as far as the 'info' on destros - it's just a load of bull you've been told (for not finding a better word, sorry ), the 44mm destro rep cases are simply the same standard cases, it's the CG that needs to be made in 180 degrees mirror, since the lever should always point up, whether if it's right-hand model or left-hand model. So far rep makers have been making destro versions as "pseudo-destro", using the same standard-case CG (which is wrong since the lever now points downward) and by twisting the mov't and dial by 180 degrees. 217MM is a diferent story, as there is a proper and correct CG made for destro 47mm 217 case, with lever pointing downwards, as it should. just my 2 cents, babola
  23. No sarcasm intended, whatsoever. Mineral glass can be A/R coated without problems. babola
  24. LOL, I agree...dates normaly look a bit more 'dehydrated' and wrinkled :-)
  25. LOL! Joe man, you rock ! ...unfortunatelly not everybody gets jokes babola
