thanks for the cool comments, much appreciated!

First off I would like to thank WakoBirdKeeper for this stunner of a watch! His service is second to none, his shipping is lightning fast and his prices are phenomenal. This particular watch is the best of two worlds... a combination if a 7750 case set paired with a quartz movt that doesn't have a running sec as per Gen. Needless to say I'm a fan!
You don't have to like Hublot, hell I don't like Hublot...but the color combo is to die for! I was a bit hesitant to try a Hublot but now I'm glad that I did...on to the pics!
thanks for letting me share

A little back story... blah blah blah... on to the pics!!!
btw: It's a V2 purchased from Mary @ WatchInternational, the mesh is from http://www.suppaparts.com/

thanks for letting me share

Congratulations - you got me - where do I find this watch to purchase please?
It came from Mary @ WatchInternational, but I'm sure if you have a prefered dealer they can source it for you.
btw: To contact Mary send her an e-mail with a pic of the watch (you can use mine if you like) watchinternational@gmail.com

This is the watch I won in the VIP prize draw, a huge thank you to GBOGH & RWG (the other RWG) for allowing me to win this phenominal beauty! Funny because when i saw the comp for this watch i kept telling myself "wait till the exact day your VIP status expires", than up grade. I was so close to upgrading before my actual 1 year to the day anniversary, needless to say I'm super happy patience is my forte... i guess it was meant to be.

Thanx mastrmindalliance...
After owning a V1, which suffered from the xtal issue, I am super happy to see the V2
and all the fixes!!! Now after reading your impressions of the V2 I can order one with confidence!
Because it's my grail watch, I couldn't go through the heartbreak & frustration like with the V1.
Thanx again brother!

Bravo FDG!!!
I know you have just made a lot of Ploprof owners very happy!
I sent mine back to China, so I wouldn't be needing a xtal now...
but it's great to know they would be available.
thanks for stepping up mate!

none of the crystals is domed. I have a genuine ploprof 600 crystal here. totally flat.
Thanks, i was just about to dig up a photo of the original Ploprof 600's xtal showing it is also flat.
You just saved me some time, much appreciated!
-
In your second photo, the ploprof UNDER the first one has a recessed, domed crystal. I assume we're looking at 2 different generations of watch in that picture.
Absolutely! In the second pic the Ploprof 1200 is being compared to the original Ploprof 600, which can also be determined by the difference in crown guards design.

I'm thinking about getting a sample crystal made this week to the spec in my picture above. Do you guys know if the AR coat should be clear or purple-ish (like the planet ocean)?
Mikey, I came across these photos of a Gen Ploprof. If I'm not wrong the xtal is completely flat and not domed at all.
this is the best pic I came across, i believe the AR is only on the underside of the xtal

I am now becoming more persuaded, that Nanug's theory, of excessive loadings on a 2 part crystal, during temperature changes , may have some validity. The extremely tight fit of the MG portion of the crystal and the variation in diameters is what leads me back to this idea..
I can only give my experience with the delamination on my crystal. There was no temp change greater than +/- 2 or 3 degrees when this happened. This is purely the result of humidity as I knew not to get it wet or bring it in direct contact with water from sfa's post. IMO it is a failure of the adhesive between the two crystals and not due to temp changes. BTW: the delamination started at the left of the crystal and worked it's way to the right. As can be seen from the pics it did not complete it's course completely. The rainbow effect at the ridge of where it stopped advancing imo shows that the culprit is water/humidity and a failure of the adhesive between the two crystals.

Does anyone notice those engravings on the back of the RG ROO? Is that normal? Those look like cartoon characters. What is it.
They are hallmarks, an official mark or series of marks struck on items made of precious metals

Can you please share your setup and settings?
Settings: Manual Mode, ISO 80, Auto White Balance, Resolution on Superfine, Size 1600x1200 (I down size them to 1024x786 after they are on my computer)
Setup: A watch, a tripod, lots of light (I only use natural light i.e. daylight/the sun), and finally "The Secret" ... practice, practice & more practice.

That is a real STUNNER! And I think it looks really good on the mesh!!!
enjoy it often

OSRep,
Not trying to put you off purchasing a DSLR camera but just wanted to offer an alternative regarding the camera you already have. I shoot with a Canon SD1000 P&S 7.1mp (very similar to yours) and have found that just really getting to know the camera and using the correct settings can produce very very sharp and beautiful results even in macro shots. If you need any feedback/advice/suggestions regarding some settings let me know, I'd be happy share...
here are a few shots i have taken with said camera:
AP ROO
Breitling AS
PAM 249

I just wanted to say it's fantastic that you finally received it, and I can tell you are
as happy with it as I am with mine. Sure we got them from different places but who cares,
main importance is we get to enjoy them!!!
A big congrats and enjoy it often brother!

@ By-Tor, through your superb photos & write-up on the SA,
I have finally decided to treat myself to one!
and here she is...(thanks By-Tor for pushing me over the edge to get one!)
-
This is the first time I have come across your thread, although first posted in 2008
it is still considered up to date and a phenomenal read/comparison.
Thank you for all the info and very entertaining read!

Is this the beginning of a cross town rivalry with different fora's.. or has it been that way all along..
RWG.. (the RWG.. us guy's) has the best Mod team east-west-north-south of the Mississippi..and all points beyond..
I think DL was just kidding..
ummm...cross town rivalry...?...I thought you guys were next door?
But in all truth, I'm a member of all 4 fora (RWG,RWG,RWI,& RG), I'm a newbie & a nobody and I just call it the way I see it. If someone were to speak badly about you, from what I've read and learned from your posts, I would just as easily say you are a stand up guy and give you the benifit of the doubt even though we don't "know" each other. But that's just me, easy like sunday morning...
All the best always

I know Dingleberry, he is a stand up fella, I bet it just slip'd his mind about crediting Dave Barry.

Well I've only been a member here for a short while but in that time I've meet some really cool people, learned a whole lot about the rep world and what a great hobby it can be... yes, I think I'm hooked!
So I guess it's time to share my humble collection (most are homages but I have a few reps too): on to the pics!
First off, my newest...I luv it!!!
and my first lume shot... (I'm really happy with the way it came out!)
Second, my first homage of a PAM217, I bought it about 2 years ago (I still luv it!)
and another pic on a black strap...
This one was a gift from a great mate of mine, one of my all time favs!!! It might be a rep or a homage (nowhere does it say OP, so I guess it's a homage. Or maybe it's a rep of the original 1936 model which also wasn't branded)
I call this one a Radiomir Phantom Seal... kind of a spin off of the Black Seal. Totaly sterile dial which I find super interesting and everyone comments on it too!
and another shot just of the dial...
Here is my first rep, it was a gift from another great mate. When I saw this watch I knew the reps & the rep world had changed since last I saw one circa 20yrs ago...
And lastly my Pilot/Flieger homage
the sunray pewter dial color is to die for!...
Well that's it, thanks for let'n me share

hmmm...
the dial was intentionally made to replicate a dial it is not, even if it is made using a gen dial, it is considered a replica. If the dial would have been black it would be considered a franken.
Let's not split hairs...the watch in question is a replica, because it replicates something it is not, hence the word fake.
