  1. I purchased a submariner watch from Andrew a couple of years back and love it. The other day I went to wind it up and the dial broke off or the small shaft broke because the peice came out of the watch. It piece consists of the wind up dial [censored] and shaft with the gasket.

Is there anyone from the boards that work on these????

  2. Don't laugh but about two years ago I was with my wife in a Coach store because she has a couple of them and I mentioned I needed to replace my wallet and wouldn't you know it but they had mens stuff there too soI picked up a nice brown leather Coach wallet with matching money clip. Best thing is every year I replace it for free. I just did this for the second time. Gotta love those warranties!!! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  3. Alright, I have decided on the Superocean Steelfish, but I wanted to know what is the purpose of purchasing the Breitling box and papers? I did not buy these when I purchased my Blackbird and I just wanted to hear from others why they chose to buy these added extras.

Thanks everyone for your advice, it is really appreciated, and I truly consider your input when making a decision.

  5. I am really liking the blue face SS Rolex submariner rep watch. I do not own any and question is in regards to the movement. Here is what thew ad says for the movement;

MOVEMENT: Nickle Plated Asian Clone (Rolex 3135) Automatic Movement, 25J, 28800bph

Option Avail for Swiss Eta 2836-2 Movt

So what is the best to get for movement? what normally comes with it or the Swiss ETA 2836-2?

    Thank you for your time,

  6. Alright, I am ready to order watch #2 and I have decided on the black Skyland Avenger PVD V2. I wanted to know if you think it would look wrong to swap out the band to a nice general black leather band with red stitching?

Where are you guys purchasing your bands from? I would like to buy some different bands for my watches but I do not see the type of bands I am looking for.

  7. Well, I searched for any pervious posts but could not find out the info I was looking for so I am starting this one.

I need to send my rep back to the dealer because of a loose part inside. No worries as the dealer has always been quick to respond and he wants me to send

it back. My question is in the USA what service has others used to mail this? The way I am understanding it, I am to mail it to China using airmail registered only. It goes on as saying not to use Fedex, UPS, DHL, or TNT. So I guess I use the USPS then huh?

I know this is going to be expensive to mail it but I can hear a part sliding around as if it came loose or broke off. The watch works fine other then that noise it makes but it does leave a big black mark on my wrist after wearing it.

    thanks for your time,

    Mike

  8. Hey Mike, I guess you're not very good with the search button, eh? :D

LOL I did see it posted and read it too. I just didn't know if there was a better rep out there that addressed the second at 6 problem is all. It seems my brain has turned to mush with all the reading I have done lately but for a newbie like me the articles y'all have written is invaluable and really helps out.

  9. I found the Daytona I seen in a and in a magazine and it is;

    Daytona 2006 Black/Red Limited - Asia 7750

MOVEMENT: New Asia 7750 Valjoux (28,800bph)

    CASE DIAMETER: 40mm

    THICKNESS: 14mm

DIAL COLOR: Black Dial with red subdials

    CASE MATERIAL: Stainless Steel 316L

    BRACELET: Stainless Steel 316L

    FRONT GLASS: Sapphire

    BACK GLASS: Solid Case Back

    BEZEL: Solid SS with Tachymeter

My question is does this mimic gen movement? and do you know of any better rep out there.

Hey, I figure since I own two real limited edition Daytona's (car and truck in my sig) I might as well own the watch, lol

    thanks,

  10. I do not have any Rolex reps at all but yesterday when I was sitting at the doctors office, I was looking through a golf magazine and seen a full page ad for a Rolex Daytona that was black and orange or maybe black and red depending on how well the page was printed. Anyhow, I have a friend that owns a gen Rolex and he says that the real ones have a sweeping second hand and reps all have ticking second hands.

Are there any reps with gen like second hand movement and is there anyone that knows what watch I was looking at, I can not find it and I KNEW I should have swiped that page out of that mag! LOL

    Thanks,

    Mike

  11. Megalodon teeth ? so that's what those rocks are ... haha

so hey does your wifey have a sista ?

LOL, yup, and sometimes those rocks are still sharp and can cut you, I found out the hard way, lol. It is getting warmer out and I will soon be diving again. Last year I actually had to wrestle an alligator, no lie, my buddy got pics of it and we ran into another gator at the bottom of the river. Oh well, I like to live on the edge I guess because viability at best is about 2 feet. Here is a video of diving in the Edisto River(

). This is not me but this is exactly what it is like to dive here.

Now, does she have a sista huh? well, yea she does, three of them and let me just say this, the only one available now is a 6 foot tall blonde, never married, no kids, 40 yrs old and DD's. She is not bad on the eyes but you didn't hear that from me, lol she says she is waiting for that special guy that can take care of her.....let me translate [i am looking for that guy with money] LOL

Anyhow, my wife is very special and I hit the lotto when it come to a wife. She is a tall redhead (German decent) DD's herself (oh yea! giggaty giggaty giggaty) she is into muscle cars (we had a 68 Firebird 400 restored) and asks when am I getting another one (who knows, I want a 70-72 Challenger). She pretty much lets me do whatever I want and here is the cool part....we have been married 15 years this December and we have never, I mean NEVER had a fight. SHe is my best friend and people think that we are newly weds because we still goof off like we are dating. What can I say fellas, I found my soulmate.

  12. btw - here's a link of my Blackbird - blue lumed applied...and now i'm waiting on the crystal which is getting double AR coating...

the Blackbird is a fantastic watch...one of my absolute favorites...so i decided to customize it...cool...cool blue!...

    R-

That sure is a nice touch with the blue. I wonder if I could have it done in orange?

  13. Well, as promised, here are some pics of my Blackbird Big Date. I really like the brushed look over the shiny look. I love the heavy feel of this so far only the bracelet is the only down fall. Why you ask? well, my wrist is too big for it but my dealer said he will send me an extra link, no problem. That is the reason I am ordering the Skyland Avenger PVD V2. My wife likes that one and said I should get that one as my second watch.

I decided to take some pics with some other things in my life. One is I collect fossilized sharks teeth. I dive and also dig and shift dirt to find them. as you can see, I sometimes get lucky and find the big Megalodon teeth. Also, I took some pics with deer antlers. I have the antlers because they were my grandpa's and he has since passed but to me these remind me most of him. Lastly, I took some pics dealing with airplanes/Boeing since I work for them.

Please enjoy and share any comments or questions.

Also, please excuse me on my photos' this is a new camera I just bought to take on the cruise next week and I am still trying to learn it.

  14. Andrew is top shelf...he'll make it right...it'll be frustrating to you to send it back - as its your first one...but that's sometimes how it goes...better to get it right than have it die quickly on you...

good luck and let us know how the process goes...feedback is always good...

    R-

Yea, Andrew has already replied to my email. I am going to see if I can capture the sound on video for him. I will post it tomorrow if I can.

  15. ummmm...that unwinding isn't right...you probably should send it back to the dealer...contact him and explain the problem...i wouldn't wait on it...sometimes this happens - but better to deal with your dealer now...it'll be frustrating to wait for the return and back...but it's all part of this hobby...but definitely isn't right...sounds like an unwinding of a winding gear - that should not slip like that...

thanks on the blue lume...sexy on the BB...and btw - you can't go wrong with the Blacksteel...its a sharp piece!...

    R-

Ok, email sent to the dealer. I can only imagine what the cost is going to be to send this back, ouch! and to think, when I told him that the band was too snug on my wrist, he said he was sending out an extra link for me no problems, I thought that was awesome!

  16. is the sound a buzzing like something unwinding?...or is it a loose part/clinking sound?...sometimes the rotors can come loose and you here that rattling around...a simply small screwdriver fix...if you want to "investigate", wad up some packing/duct tape into a small ball - sticky side out...and then press down on the case back to unscrew it...it should come off fairly easily - at least most of my Breits do...then take a look carefully...btw - the rotor spins with hand motion to wind your watch...sometimes you do here then spin...if loud, a watchsmith can fix it with some watch oil/lube...

regarding your next Breitling - i would suggest this one :whistling: :

    R-

It sounds more like something unwinding. Did you ever have a toy car that you would wind up and set down and it would go? remember that unwinding sound? that is the noise I hear, not too loud and only lasting maybe a second or two.

The wifey says she likes the Skyland Avenger PVD Ult V2, so it looks like I am getting that one next. It would've been super-cool to get serial number 787/2000 since I am an aerospace engineer for Boeing on the 787 Dreamliner.

BTW, that blue lum is just KILLER!

  17. Well, I got in my first watch and I will post pics tomorrow. It is a Blackbird big date :thumbsupsmileyanim: . Over all I like the watch, Andrew is even sending me an extra link because apparently I have a large wrist and it fits snug and that is with it set to maximum width.

On to my question, I was wearing the watch today and I shook my wrist to move the watch off of the angle it was sitting on my wrist. Immediately, it started making a sound. I did it again and listened to it and it sounded like a spring that was unraveling. The watch works fine and nothing stops when this happens AND.........since I have NEVER owned a watch that I needed to wind (always batteries) I wonder if I did not wind it up enough :g: . I made a few turns with it and didn't press my luck since I didn't want to break it.

Also, the wifey loves the watch and asked me today when am I ordering my next one and which one will it be (DANG WOMAN! I just got this first watch Wednesday, lol....I LOVE YOU! ) I was thinking about the Ult V2 Skyland Avenger, or the Chronomatic SS with black face, white sub-dials and a black leather band (jsut like the one on the header at Andrews site trustytime). I wonder if the band would fit my wrist??? or even a Chronomat B01. I can not decide, what can you suggest?

As always, thanks for your time,
