  1. wojco build with a bit of case tweaking on timebandit ammo today..
  2. I am sure most of us here have a pita with post costs- no matter what size the package is the cost for registered mail is around $10 etc....for EU UPS and FEDEX incurs import duty etc. however, this one really puts it all in perspective: I purchased a set of spring bars from a member in Southern Australia: he posted bars in a letter (normal post) on last Friday (3rd aug). The bars arrived here in Ireland today Tuesday 7th August. And it was a public holiday yesterday. 10,311 miles in 3 working days (- 1 day holiday)- that is impressive.
  3. What are these humans doing? Dancing. Many humans on Earth exhibit periods of happiness, and one method of displaying happiness is dancing. Happiness and dancing transcend political boundaries and occur in practically every human society. Matt Harding traveled through many nations on Earth, planned on dancing, and filmed the result. The video, the latest in a series of similar videos by Harding, is perhaps a dramatic example that humans from all over planet Earth feel a common bond as part of a single species. AN ADVISORY: Happiness is frequently contagious -- few people are able to watch this video without smiling. http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap120710.html
  4. wristies slim 62154 build
  5. I have gotten a few queries from forum members regarding aspects of the athaya 6154 case reshape recently posted, so I have decided to post a log of the reshape here. This was one of the most nervous reshapes I have done as the stock case from athaya is so good to start off with. This log suggests some mods to the case- some may not be to people's tastes and I know from other members' input (oyang case etc.) there are several interpretations of the gen shape. For the gen shape there are numerous variants, as with the 6152/1 the originals were hand done so there will be some variety. Only today I saw some new images of a gen 6154 that made me re-asses the lug end of the athaya case: previous to this I thought oyang's was the more accurate- these new images suggest the opposite- go figure! In any event this log is not definitive and if other have achieved better shapes more easily please post! For those who wanted to do some minor tweaking but were reluctant to do so (as I was) this may give you some pointers. The first time I did a reshape on this case I took off too much material- on reflection I think less should be taken off to achieve the same result (particularly on lugs). In the A6154 there is not a lot of material to play with, so the chance of accidentally removing too much is always there. In addition I believe (from the one gen image i have) that there was a crease between the lugs. I have not attempted that here as it is a lot of work and it is not necessary: this area is not visible and there is some argument as to whether all the 6154 cases had a crease. First step: roughly mark out areas to be reshaped with indelible marker. Keep bezel and caseback on for this. Notice crease lines will be softened slightly Crease needs to be removed around caseback on underside. Most material to be removed is between lugs on the underside to get pillow shape Corners to be taken down slightly (to individual taste) STAGE 2- hand files (i would suggest hand files only) The initial filework is done with significant material off lug area underside (rounded junction with caseback), lugs underside made more rounded, slight tip taken off lugs also, and corners taken down slighty. Crease lines softened slightly also. Singel piece bezel is still on the case. The lug shape is further defined by material removed from the lug underside to get more rounded. Crease line around the caseback should be nearly completely removed. Notice curvature on underside of area between lugs. lug shape has gotten a little more defined. Small amount taken off end and curve to underside accentuated. Be careful with junction of underside of case: too much material off here and curve will "arch under" case. Tops of lugs have not been touched so far. Stage 3: to follow....

  11. both sections clamp plexi in place here is a nightwatch build of a 6152/1 with one... http://www.vintagewatchparts.co.uk/index.php?id=107
  12. well spotted- sorry should have mentioned that: the bezel on the stock (unmodded) one is a single piece bezel from athaya also with a cut down dsn plexi (lower), the bezel in teh modded case is a two part one- there is an inner piece that goes into the case that the plexi sits on, then an outer ring (the visible bezel) sits over that: both look similar but the two piece is closer to gen construction and a tropic plexi will fit. The single piece bezel is easier to take on/off and is less delicate, also suits solid plexis or crystals etc. tropic clone plexis need to be modded to fit.
  13. quick comparison between reshaped athaya 6154 case (LHS) and stock athaya 6154 (RHS) lowered corners rounded area underside between lugs: before after
