  1. this may answer some of your questions my seatimer modded a bit
  2. and here is pauls at wo-marts with a few mods for comparison my seatimer modded a bit
  3. sry i just read , the answer is the case width is 40.63 mm and genuine is 40.5 i believe,(also the thicknes is 13mm from tip of rehaut to the caseback, but i beleive center of the crystal to center of caseback would be more like 12.3 or 12.5 mm ) so it is pretty darn correct this is pauls, and i installed my own bolder font black datewheel and i superlumed the hands and did some polishing on the case and bezel to make it feel and look more silky joe
  4. just wondering what u all think of this piece? big size po
  5. just to help u rob, u should drill the lugholes out with a mini drill press machine like i showed u about a year ago, it is very difficult to drill out those lugholes with a drill because it can bend the tiny bits too easily then get them in a bind and boom u broke bits off and if they break off evenly u have a mess and have to drill the broken bit out from the rear so u dont mess up the case outside or scar it (that is why i said that isnt my work on that one piece u tried to say was mine, my bit doesnt walk around cause i use a drill press it is a straight shot only deal not a guesstimate) now on the bezel, this is not new , it just depends on where it came from , the gmtII with the correct stacked hands r different than the chinese ones , hence they r smaller as well in dimensions verses the new submariner being a bit bigger, u have to pry them up from four corners straight up to prevent bending the bezel , u may bend the spring on the inside a bit but not the bezel , it is almost impossible to straighten because it causes it to oval when bend it back, and they r reps and some r way harder than others(then more than likely it will not turn or get hung up in one area but for the lugholes they usually all do about the same on a drill press unless the outside hole is only a dummy hole in a funky angle, which is how the chinese vintage gmt cases r made i have done many and they r all different and some take much more fanagleing than others , i guess it depends on how the guy who threw that particular watch together felt that day, lol hope this helped joe
  6. great looking watch dec, and yep i think i got it all worked out now, lol thanks joe
  7. thanks guys, but u know me i cant stand that loose feeling bezel , after some work i finally got it off, and it is one of the hardest ones ive ever taken off, will show u later on but it is a great watch and runs smooth, the only other hangup i have is the cheaply done black around the bezel , it appears to chip easy and came with some little miss hit spots, another project , lol joe
  8. heres what i got so far and quickly so i can wear it this weekend , enjoy (also sry for the fingerprints on the bezel in the pics, i took them quick for u) also the first pics is so u can see how amazing it looks while wearing it side view for u btw it is one of the most comfortable watches to wear i own to date, (that says alot) this bracelet is awesome and light feeling but mainly wears to the contour of your wrist , yes i saw the tiny rubber stickking out on the link in the picture and yes it is fixed now , lol a pic of the hands superlumed for u (i just came inside and it is a rainy day here and it lumes like a torch)
  9. my newest modded seatimer side view for u btw it is one of the most comfortable watches to wear i own to date, (that says alot) this bracelet is awesome and light feeling but mainly wears to the contour of your wrist , yes i saw the tiny rubber stickking out on the link in the picture and yes it is fixed now , lol a pic of the hands superlumed for u (i just came inside and it is a rainy day here and it lumes like a torch)
  10. lol rek , trick or treat, lol however a friend showed me this and it appears that the only super lume is the hands or do u read it differently , lol cartier seatimer
  11. well great that answers that question, now how about the hour markers, do they light up like torches? and thanks for your help, it is always comforting to know someone that has the genuine , can u take us some pics of your watch pretty please mainly of the side of the crown and the dial ? thanks joe
  12. i have been fine since it started a few days ago, but from what i read , there r more experiencing your problems and it will be like that till they r finished upgrading or fixing it but for me nothing is wrong yet joe
  13. Well i recieved me a new piece a day ago and i was so pleased to get me a new watch, lol most know i was away for a spell so i didnt have any buying fun in a while actually, and all the work i have been doing on watches was geared towards my friend only and no fun for me, till now, lol many asked me some stuff about this piece and now i can answer i suppose. The watch is awesome looking but as we know there r a few flaws and questions i need help on, first my questions and then i will give u the warnings for the do it yourself guys ok 1-does anyone know if the 12,3,6,9 and the little hour line markers in between r superlumed ? 2-do u know if the little catcher that holds the crown protector on is supposed to be a little loose when u tighten the cap down? on the genuine is it like that ok now warnings for the DIY 1-those screws that hold the caseback on have a different threading than the screw does so half of them had to be drilled out, i show u a pic of it and it is not that fun, the screw heads strip easily sort of like those screws holding the wire lugs on a 183 2-im working on the bezel assembly and so far i have noticed the black stuff on those teeth comes off really easily , so be careful when removing all and all it is a solid watch and nicely done and i feel it will stay in my collection so im modding it to be close as it can get, the things that bother me immediately r , the bezel is too loose as usual, lol the font on the datewheel is not bold enough and aligned , and the things i asked about r my only hangups on what to do to it this is things i have already done and am showing u before and after 1-the datewheel , the black one im using is very bold font and has the little arabics well sort of close i guess but as good as it gets, lol BEFORE After the dials r glued on and do not use the feet like most , i like the feet better but if glued right should last pretty long , but as u can see this one was barely hanging on , lol what can happen if not glued down properly is the dial will seperate from the movment and slightly move and also can lift just a bit if bumped and push up on the hands and scar your dial, that's one case scenario . now the caseback was a bastard , lol i got four out with the head of the screw holding up ok and then four of them appeared to show some slippage from the good guys, lol i had to drill the heads off in order to get the case off, for some reason the last screw was a bit smaller or the hole was a bit bigger and it pused down in the threaded hole almost flush, and that was no fun but i got it finally , lol i held my chin just right , lol this is the warning picture and remember im really carefull with watches so that means the screws suck that bad , or it could have just been this watch but i really doubt it , lol the fix for that to me was i drilled the holes out a bit bigger in order to use a longer and bigger headed screw to secure that baby down with no problems like i just experienced, u would think they would have done this , appearance is not much difference but it is much more solid for sure (yes those tumbs have been working overtime lately, so dont pick , lol) heres the screw difference , the one on the left is going to be the new ones see it is a little bit longer and the threads actually fit the watch holes smoother oh yeah here is the movment that came with mine , eta 2836 with day and date function , im still looking for my date window, they must have forgotten to cut it out , lol now all im waitng for is help from u guys on letting me know about the lume and the crown cap lever thingy majiggy , lol joe
  14. i only find it hard that he said brand new knowing that it looked like that, r u sure he said brand new? especially if it is who i think it is but at any rate i will say it sucks for u if that is the case at least u emailed him and got his attention here so he has to comment or run joe

the 42.5 is plenty big imho, to me it is bigger looking than the rolex subs and slightly smaller than a 44 mm pam, but not realy small, and your welcome amk , when u said thank u , lol joe
  19. glad u love it my friend, something u forgot was i refinished your case , here is a pic of it when recieved, it had some deep scratches where i suppose happened when u removed your bezel ,lol but i also put the finer satinny finish on it that is more appropriate for this piece in its era , enjoy it , its a nice piece in deed
