  1. Carrera Racing Chronograph with silver screws + ETA Dial (very cheap fixes) basically gets you a 1:1 gen inexception of the rotor.

Link Automatic (non-chrono) looks to me (i'm getting one) the most accurate rep I've ever encountered OOB.

Aquaracer 500M New ones from trevor has the correct kerning of the letters in 500M and has the correct Tag Heuer Logo.

    My top 3 :)

  2. Now, with Trevor's offering; you can get one that has the correct tracking/kerning of the type in 500M and the correct logo (less toy-ish / cheap looking with sharp arrows)!!

I'll probably get this in the SW movement later on when I have more money.

Other problem with this rep was that the hour markers were not centered... on the new one from Trevor it is aligned!

  3. With that attitude you're sure to get a whole lot of help.

If you want the most accurate sub $200 rep you can get, buy a PAM or Omega, not a Rolex. Rolex's use of in-house everything means that most Rolex reps have serious flaws until you get into the $500+ price point (DJ and DD excluded).

    Apologies for such behavior.

Regarding to PAMs though, I have considered it and I really don't like their designs at all. I was looking more into a sports watch.

I was thinking of getting the SMP 300, Submariner / Submariner-C, Tag Link, or a Breitling SoH..

I also thought about other Breitlings, and POs... I do not like the design of the PO to be honest with you, and the time + date simple Breitlings cost a lot.

Tag Heuer Link, I can't find anywhere really that has an Asian movement, only "Swiss" ETA and costs $250 (and with shipping and CC fees, it's a lot)

Breitling SoH, is just as pricey if not more than the Link.

So the choices were the SMP 300 or the Sub

SMP 300, I have found a asian movement one (25J) with the correct 10 o'clock HE Valve position from a TD.

Sub, I find them everywhere obviously but I see that TS has the RWI Promotion and has Ceramic, and non-ceramic in asian ETA for $140 (non-ceramic) or $168 (ceramic) shipped via EMS. And it's the Noob factory one, which I think is the best one out of the box except modded ones like BK, etc.

so that's why I decided to go with the Sub. Price (I was looking to buy a budget one) and I heard a lot of good things about it.

I was just looking for a list of major tells of that watch (but no avail).

    Anyway, thanks for your time

*BTW, I'm looking at the black not LV Subs.

  4. Hey guys... so I am thinking of getting a simple date rep.

I'm in the market for Breitling SoH, Tag Heuer Link, Omega SMP 300 or the Rolex Sub...

Is the TimeShops RWI Promotion <$120 reps similar quality as the ones sold by say... Andrew or Josh?

Can anyone chime and list couple things that are major tells? I believe the crown or crown guard or something is a major tell?

    Thank you.

  5. hey guys I might get another tag watch later... upon research, basically that Tags without the "metal" Tag Heuer Logo badge looks better because the arrows on the metal badge doesn't seem defined at all, and it looks very cheap...

so I narrowed it down to 3 models, Link ETA, Link Chrono with Tachy bezel, and smooth Link Chrono.

I am leaning towards the smooth Link Chrono.

    because:

The tachy bezel chrono has two tells, the date font, and the sub-dial "sticks" are wrong length in some departments.

and hte Link, i don't know, it seems very accurate... but the crown is bugging the hell out of me.

I don't know if there are any problems with the smooth bezel Link Chrono (updated)...

    any suggestions??

    thank you.

  6. I've been meaning to post this for awhile but here are things i noticed:

    1. No arrows on the G on the TAG logo

    2. Tag Logo is just low quality in general. The logo is glossy and looks like cheap molded metal while the gen looks like CNCd or something XD

    3. The rubber + how it's "glued" on to the bezel is lower quality on the rep but it isn't really noticeable it's not really aesthetic but the quality/precision of assembly

    4. orange hue on the carlibre and the second hand is off. it's brighter on the gen

    5. the spacing on the letters 500 on the 500M is more condensed in the gen, it's rather more spaced out on the rep

    6. this [censored] me off, the lume markers are not aligned in the bezel... take a close look and you'll see what i mean

so if you make this watch a franken with a gen dial, especially with the decorated movement is impossible to tell if it's a gen or rep...

  7. If I wanted to nitpick on almost all details of the Aquaracer 500m...

    1. The Tag logo on the crown isn't "glossy" enough (you could do it yourself easily), and it's "pointed" on the center

    2. Tag Heuer Logo is brushed on the gen, while it's glossy/polished on the rep

    3. 500M spacing is incorrect

    4. Rubber isn't flush on rep, while it is on gen.

DISGUSTINGLY though, the hour markers do not line up with the second/minute marks. it's one off.
