  1. If I look at that picture I can't help thinking "... oh my God, they are all driving on the wrong side of the street....."
  2. That's not a country in Europe - famous for Banks, Cheese and Watches - but the sound of the watch when you wind it....
  3. Thank you Admin.... that was a good one... I almost got by April 1st without a praktical joke... then I logged in to my favorite site and viola!
  4. This one arrived yesterday, so it's kinda glued to my wrist.....
  5. Great watch Tourbi... I have one just like it... I also prefer the engraved bridge Movement to the CDG one. Panerai should build that watch.
  6. SS, black dial, black insert is a gen color option.
  7. Have a safe trip.... by the way... what do you do without a net connection for two weeks? (aaah, just kiddin')
  8. ME too love the GMT... while one might argue about the pricing or Rolex, I for one think you can't argue the fact that Rolex has given the watch world some great, timeless designs, one of the being the GMT. I rate this (and the Submariner / Seadweller) up there with the best of designs (like a 911 Porsche, a VW Beatle, the Coca Cola Bottle etc.) - stuff you recognize in an instant, because the basic design was so good that over the years, there was never a need for a radical change. On another note, the GMT is a very comfortable watch to wear...
  9. @JTB... since you're no. 10, you guys were sitting next to each other
  10. RESPECT, member no.9 .... looks like you and a couple of buddies sat with Admin for a beer deciding to open this site.. Welcome back...
  11. Sten, I don't know your level of movement-expertise so what I am saying might sound ridiculous to you...if so, sorry! The rotor is secured by one central screw... remove the case-back, locate the screw, put it back in position, tighten carefully and voila... If for some reason it unscrews easily, you can use a tiny amount of loctite (Threadlocker) but be carefull not to get any of that in the ball-bearing.
  12. Agreed, this one ain't real. By the way, if anyone wants such an ugly aftermarket PAM rep rubber strap.... I have exactly the same - from a 30$ fake, bought in Spain ;-) I don't think Paypal's 2.000$ protection plan is going to help in this case....
  13. Currently this one (stock shot)... by now on a leather strap with gen Rolx buckle... - but waiting for a PO Chrono to arrive....
  14. Neil, after finishing your review, I felt, the only downside of this watch is: it's pictures do not have the distinctive three numbers in the upper left corner ;-) Great review and mouth-watering, if I may say so...
  15. I voted "other"... as was said before... I think they should be give a sensible period to comply with a list of changes as compiled from a poll of the membership. Then, unless they comply, "tar and feather".... only this time, it should be made clear to them that we're serious about the consequences... A poll, because like Pug's and Edge's threads clearly showed, there are issues we all agree on (like misrepresentation / false advertising) and there are others, where it will be much more difficult to get a majority vote. I for one would not rate the pricing cartel (does not mean I like it, though) a reason for the death sentence, because the price you always know upfront and even as a noob, you can make an informed descision to say: No, thank you, too expensive. But when price is charged for features promised and not delivered.... that's a whole different issue...
  16. ... well RWI admins are reading this already, welcome Daytona4me
  17. I don't think so Richard... this is just an example in the truth-lies-trust saga everybody knows...
  18. 58 members....It's gettin' crowded in here....
  19. But unless you share such information, nobody will understand. On the other hand, that is not an excuse for sticking an ETA label on a crap movement. I am sure that none of the buyers would have objected to pay an additional 10$ on top of the B&R for a decent CN movement. Just look at the way the SFSO sells... it is not about 10 bucks back or forth... it's about getting what you paid for and decided upon...
  20. Andrew, my advice would always be to communicate with the members. While certainly everybody will agree that it is great if you guys come up with new watches (like the B&R et al) and even better, if you are open to input from experienced members on how to tweak reps to become even better, it is the lack of communication that allows for conspiraciy theories to grow. If the general concensus is that something is not ok, stand up to the criticism, correct the problem and move on. Noone gets beaten because they make mistakes. It's the way you deal with your mistakes that makes the difference...
  21. @The Zigmeister... thanks for posting this... this is the kind of stuff we need to put in front of "the cartel" and demand a change in business practice. This is hard evidence on the table....
  22. that was the reason why I did not really post too much on Pug's thread. My dealings with one of the "cartel" guys have been nothing but pleasant and we communicated quite a bit and the person on the other end of email "sounded" nothing like some of the stuff I've read recently... So in essence, I had no first hand "bad" expertise and felt, I was not for me to be on the bashing front. On the other hand, there is general points like pricing cartels... of which I can state that I strongly oppose them...
