I already have the Ti plated screws .. You can check out the pics at the start of this thread. Cheers mate
leave the plating for the silverware You need the real McCoy for that watch.
-
Get the full Ti RB screw set to replace the cheap metal.

Jordanf1. Nice! That can't be rep lume? Think I gotta save for the black and white dial versions for the set. Hmmmm Rbt1680, the rosegold tv is very nice and also 57th street. sent using my fat thumbs.
*rosegold rc sent using my fat thumbs.

re-glue the rubber parts! Someone on the geek did a tutorial where he removed the crown rubber and sanded down the height so it sits more flush inside the crown.
use loctite 222 (or low strangth threadlock) on all the screws! Out of box a lot of screws are loose and will drop out!
The v1 bezels will fit the V6.
Enjoy your nice watch.

Loving the rubberclads!! Orchard road and Gstaad colour combos are a winner for me.

I'm curious other than the usual flaws what are your additional concerns? And are you speaking of Toros rep?
- the 'ring' that surrounds the date window.
- the circular rings at the center of the dial.
The first few qc pics posted had crooked numerals and badly inserted bezel screws.

If you're still after a aftermarket strap, PM Toro for his new hornback straps.

good advice from Jure already.
You should start with a superb v1 base watch. Movement mods are not high priority and too many guys starting out focus on this too much. Its nice to have the engraved rotor with ETA bearing but if you can't get one there's always Francisco to consider.
Definitely swap the crystal to something thicker. Taka datewheel is also a good upgrade depending which watch you buy. (i think if you have the $700 allblack then its not worth the upgrade).
Good watch to start:
v1 Tuiga: swap crystal and DW, maybe relume. No mvt mods required as its closed back.
Icebang: Crystal, DW, stealth lume.
Allblack: Crystal, Marker mod. *DW if wrong colour
Black magic: Crystal, DW, relume?
additional upgrades like Ti screws and Ti casebacks make it more personal.
Here's some of mine... {the one in the center is the v1-lite, *watch to right has rep crystal}

Too bad they don't reply to me, lay lists the cheapo's now but only the 700$ version has the V2 rotor option:(
Mary (watchinternational) has the rotor upgrade option. $30 extra and worth it if you're considering other mods.

I got a couple of Veyron straps....but had trouble installing them due to the size issue.
Jacob is making these straps now....another member got the gummy croc strap from him and it fit just like the rubber strap...no issues. I have ordered one from him as well....takes about 3-4 weeks to make....so should be with me sometime early next month. Will report my findings here.
The straps from Jacob are full leather. He doesn't make a gummy croc.
I started a project to get custom gummy bands made, but the rep band I sent for size duplication has gone AWOL. I'm now looking for someone to sell me a cheap rubber rep to get this project back on track.

buy a V1 then get your hands on a thick crystal. regulators, rotors and engrave bridges are something you can work on when you find your feet.
good v1 pieces to start for most gen-like features: Ice-Bang, All-black, Tuiga, black magics.
here's a pic of the thick crystals (TXcollector & Mine)

FYI: Just a update and offering advice to anyone looking to make a thick sapphire crystal.
The crystals I made were size 28.85mm X 4.5mm; One of my buyers informs me that the crystal supplied is too loose for his watch. He measured the crystal and confirms it was size 28.85mm dia.
There seems to be some variation in the crystal tension ring, so its probably safer to go with 28.90mm X 4.5mm in the future.

I was ordering samples for a crystal project I have running, so decided to get some additional sapphires made to fit the v1 ploprof.
I got 2x full sapphire samples coming inbound from the manufacturer.
Specs: 28.85+ mm x 4.5mm
Finish: Double-AR (it has a blue/green hue)
*I should have them in next 10-14days.
I will post pics when they arrive, then 2 people can buy them here or over at RG. I don't have a ploprof to test fit, so no returns if they're too tight/loose. I will put them up for cost price ($37) + ship.

Deniz, Snap
here's mine with Ti bezel screws and thicker blue-ar crystal
-
FDG, you should ask the manufacturer about their engineering tolerance. The company I use for sapphire glass has a 0.005mm tolerance, so 28.85mm could be achievable.
I would follow the advice of 'offshore' and try source lenses from rep dealers. If you're not in this to make any profit why risk creating a solution that can be fixed with parts from the factory?
-
got the Gen tension rings' from cousinsuk. *pic attached so you get a better understanding of the product. Its pretty rigid.
crystal is pressed down and the ring will keep it in place and keep moisture out.
I tried glue and it doesn't work. May aswell do it properly!!

little brother 'all-black'. King power too big for me
-
Wimpie, I'm going to get myself a 'narikaa po' when he next has them in stock and will do a orange bezel version using black zinc. The guy that does the coating tells me black zinc is pretty durable. I guess it will be like a PVD finish but at 1/3 of the cost.
-
Guys, some pics of my UPO (partially completed). I destroyed the crystal tension ring and have ordered a few from CousinsUK. Item will be with me in 2 weeks as its on back order.
*The crystal loose and bezel will be glued after i press the crystal.

watcher, looks fab.
I may get my GMT IIc done in the near future if Uwe has any cyclops left. There's very little flaws on the IIc, with the cyclops being the obvious tell. Less obvious, the rehault at 9, hand stacking and polished links?
Thanks for the pictures
Enjoy in good health!!
-
Lani,
thanks for the parts list.
I had to order a glass gasket from cousinsuk, so here's some of their part numbers for the UPO:

I just had my watch DLC coated, so gen crown and tube is not an option now. I'll probably get a spare gen crown coated next time round.

You have 2 choices and both guys based in Germany
- Domi, the best watch modder perform a LWO283 install with CdG finish.
- Slaughterer is working on a budget plate for the A7750 with fake gear and screws. He is testing the CdG finish at the moment.
The following mods are good; dial plate, Ti screws, AR and no holes clasp. Purchase the watch from Intime, Puretime or Toro
