  1. I know its not watch related but I was bidding on ebay for an MB Ballpoint last night and missed out by a couple of pounds. I was willing to drop £150 on it.

Today I saw a client (insurance Broker) who was using a MB Pen. I had a close look at it and he was showing me all the lovely features. It was perfectly finished and very well weighted for writing. After me extolling all the virtues of the Marque he then told me he paid £10 for it from a market stall in Honk Kong!!!

It was so well finished that Im unwilling now to pay for the real thing, also the couple on Ebay that I saw looked pretty much the same and were advertised as no box or papers... Now, if I had bought a gen MB I would make sure I kept all the boxes and paperwork (wouldn't you??). So I have huge suspicions now about those pens.

Then I thought perhaps someone here knows were I may get a replica one?? Pretty please???!!! :0)

  2. Thanks for your comments and advice guys. I didn't realise that they were of different thickness. I can see that would make a difference to the case as well. I'm going to have to look more closely in future!!!

I havent had any Reps for a few years now, but did buy a couple from PT about 5 years ago. Both had swiss movements and I enjoyed them very much. I must get back in to the collecting :)

  3. I'm desperate now for a Swiss powered Rolesium looking YM. I've seen a couple on Kings site but noitice that they have a couple of different ETA movements to pick form. ETA 2836-2 or ETA 2892...

Anyone know the difference between these, and which do you think I should go for please??

  4. Davidsen's is more accurate, but both versions represent blown opportunities to make what could have easily been one of the most accurate PAMs of all time--all of the needed parts already existed, even most of the dial: all they needed to do was get the l-swiss-l right and cleanly engrave the correct digits on the caseback. Both makers screwed up both things.

which rather bears out the thought the manufactures are perposely not making them look too accurate...

  5. I live in the UK and I've never used a UK dealer - not because they're not any good - they are very good! I will get round to it in good time...

Have you had a look at the dealer section here?

    Thanks for your reply.

I have bought watches from outside the EU (not replicas) and always end up getting hit with VAT/Customs etc. How about you??
