The keyless works is essentially like a clutch mechanism that works with the crown stem to set the different modes on the watch. You pull out the crown to the first position, and the crown stem moves the keyless works into position to set the date. Then you pull it out one more click and the keyless works moves to allow you to set the time. When removing the crown from the movement, a lot of times, when trying to replace it, you can mis-align it and mess up the keyless works (especially on the A7750 movement which your watch has). It is quite common and it is a very finicky thing to work on.
Seen justasgoods post on the the Align 7750 thread will start by giving that a try, thanks for your detailed reply it's given me a bit more understanding of timepieces and of my limitations

I would suggest buying a new one and then using this one to "practice" on. There's no time like the present to start learning to do basic movement repairs

Not sure what the price of the rep is, but the repairs may cost just as much as the rep or even more.

when you say winder, do you mean the big rotor in the back?
I think its called the crown stem
Sound like the stem won't stay in. Keyless works issue.
If it's a 7750 chrono movement, it would probably be worthwhile to have fixed.
It would appear according to the description on the attached link that I have dislocated the castle wheel
Shame as I've only had the watch a few months

Dropped my Tag Carrera Calibre16 day date and the bit on the dial round the day date fell off. I looked up on the internet how to remove the "winder" and went about dismantling the watch.
Unfortunately I seem to have done something wrong when replacing the "winder" and it wouldn't stay in. watch was still functioning apart from the "winder" staying in, Tried again but then the watch stopped and the "winder" still wouldn't stay in
Is it worth repairing and any idea how much
Stay in UK if that makes a difference

Dropped my Tag Carrera Calibre16 day date and the bit on the dial round the day date fell off. I looked up on the internet how to remove the winder and went about dismantling the watch.

Is it possible that it could be repaired at a cost that is less than replacement ($320)

Getting the loose part out of your movement is far more important (to the health of your watch) than replacing the pusher. If the watch hacks (stops running when you pull the stem out to the time-setting position), I would hack it (not let it run) until you get that loose part out of there. Having a loose part inside your movement is a ticking

Congratulations on making the repair yourself. You are going to have to get the spare washer out of the movement though. Also if this does happen again with another watch you should consider returning it to the dealer. With most dealers it is not as difficult as you think. I have always done it and it has always worked out. At some level that is why we use the dealers we do.
Cogratz on the fix but you definately want to get that part out of the watch,this Is also good experence

I don't know how to remove the winder to allow the workings to be removed from the case but from what I can see the original clip is not there. When the pusher fell out I pulled the winder out fully to stop the movement in case the clip entered the movement. I have shaken the watch quite vigorously but with the size of the broken part you wouldn't see it if it fell out
The first "watchmaker" I visited when he opened it up had a good look inside with his eye piece and said that he couldn't see anything, I left it with the second one who when I went to collect it said that after he had had a look at it he couldn't fix it so I have to assume the broken clip has fallen out.
I contacted my dealer as soon as it happened nearly two weeks ago but I haven't had a reply.
This is my fist rep and to have this happen so soon after receiving it(4 weeks)has left me doubting if I should purchase another one.

Stripped a small and when a say small I mean small rubber band from the pusher from an old Seiko digital chrono and put it on to the Tag's pusher. All functions are operational and hopefully it will stay on, at least I have another three available if it goes again.

Took the watch to two places today, first one said that he wouldn't touch it as he has had problems with replicas with screws and other bits breaking, said you get what you pay for and less.
Second place told me to leave the watch with them and they would see what they could do, probably Thursday before they would be finished with it, Even he didn't sound confident about repairing it

If I pull out the crown will it stop the watch in case the clip gets jammed in the workings and causes more damage.
Not sure how to open it so will check out who's available to fix it

I purchased a Tag Carrera 43mm Automatic Day/Date Chronograph from a very trusted dealer on here recently and this morning when putting the watch on my wrist the reset pusher fell to the floor, can't recall catching it on anything at any time.
Apart from returning it to the dealer with all the carry on that goes with it is there a simple solution to repair it

Watch arrived Thursday, Really pleased with it. When I took it out of its excellent protective wrapping I just sat and stared and stared and stared at it. A beautiful piece of engineering and design with nothing in its detail lost by the rep producers.
Thank you Mary for making an old man very very happy.

Pardon my ignorance on this but I'll make the excuse that I'm a newbie
I have read some very detailed reviews on here and was wondering do all the dealers obtain their watches from the same source?
The reason I'm asking is that another dealer may provide a watch of differing quality. maybe worse, maybe better.

OK, make excuses for me being my first purchase. Told that watch has just been ordered by dealer what is the average time scale between now and delivery to UK.

Came across your Forum by chance the other day and spent a while going through it
I read the review on the Tag Carrera Automatic Day/Date Chronograph and I had to have it so I took the recommendations and have been in contact with Mary
I know I won't regret it but I still feel guilty

Update for what its worth
Got the stem to stay in by pressing the small button to its side. Pull out one stop I can change day and date , pull out two stops can change time. Unfortunately everything else has stopped
Best leaving it alone as I seem to be doing more damage every time I touch it
