  1. More information here: http://www.ablogtoread.com/hyt-watch-teaser-video-who-are-the-hydro-mechanical-horologists/ http://www.ablogtoread.com/hyt-h1-hydro-mechanical-watch/ I have to say the technology involved is pretty cool. Just hope it's not vaporware. I'm not even going to ask how much it'll cost...
  2. I hope it works out with the JLC date wheel alignment. From your photos, it looks like the standard ETA date wheel is reasonably well-aligned in the radial direction, but off in terms of the angular alignment. This would suggest to me that any date wheel designed for a date window at 3 o'clock would have the same alignment issues with the gen dial. Given that Vacheron doesn't use the standard JLC date wheel, it's certainly possible that they created a date wheel for precisely that strange date window location asymmetrical about the 4 and 5 o'clock markers. Who knows, I hope I'm wrong, and that it works out.
  3. Did I read somewhere that you had an extra franken black dial VCO you were thinking of letting go? Let me know if you ever put it up for sale.
  4. If you're willing to do the leg work to sell directly to another collector in London, you should have no problems making your money back.
  5. Yeah, Nikki is a real pain, but the last time I discussed this with Angus (late October), he said he was replacing Nikki with Lalai as the front end person.
  6. You're more likely to get a good price if you sold it directly, since the dealers would pad their offer to give them a healthy profit. Also, if you meant that you paid GBP 1300, then that sounds like a fair price, since that's about the $2000 that most people try to sell theirs for.
  7. Yeah, that's a typo. The new casebacks for the VC Overseas are crappy, which is why I was considering buying the quartz VCO just for a donor caseback.
  8. I'm tempted to get this cheap quartz replica as a caseback donor. The caseback is excellent. http://www.timesshop.net/vach-constantine/2440-vc3564---vc-overseas-white-dial-ss---japan-quartz.html
  9. That is a fantasy watch, Rolex doesn't make watches with open heart complications.
  10. This is a good price, since they're over $4k new. If you get tired of it, I would be happy to buy it for what you paid.
  11. Yes, please. I would love to get a high-quality Patek Calatrava based on the new Seagull microrotor movement. Although there appears to be some issues with power reserve (and I guess winding efficiency) on this movement that they're trying to sort out.
  12. Because, if you look carefully, the subdial at 6 is smaller than the other two. Sneaky...
  13. A JLC Reverso with functional dual faces, and only own crown.
  14. These watches are on the small side, the vintage Paul Newman Daytonas measure about 37mm. Since the bezel takes up some space, the dial is quite small, which makes it look smaller on the wrist than even the 37mm would suggest.
  15. Another wrist shot, but higher resolution. And some of the original QC photos.
  16. Is it marked as a SW200-1, but have the brass gears associated with the SW200? The two I have are marked SW200-1, but I haven't taken them apart to check that the brass gears have been replaced with steel gears.
  17. I don't know about the AP diver, but the cartel 1:1 Nautilus comes with the SW200-1 movements.
  18. This is from Mary (watchinternational), but the cartel dealers also carry it.
  19. Hmm, I need to remember to get in touch with you about a Rolex GMT IIC early next year.
  20. It's from Tony (asian7750). The gen doesn't have the shiny bevel around the date window, and the change in the date font is due to the use of a clone 2836-2 instead of a Swiss ETA, and is not an improvement over the ETA date font.
  21. These are QC photos of a Vacheron Overseas Deep Stream. Any comments or observations would be greatly appreciated.
  22. I just received this Paul Newman Daytona with asymmetric pushers, panda dial, and Seagull ST19 manual wind movement in the mail, and wanted to share a wrist shot.
  23. Just tried out the new 42mm Rolex Explorer II at my nearby AD, and I wanted to share some wrist shots. The bezel still had the protective plastic on it but some of it detached at the 24 hour location, which is why it seems like a blemish at that location.
