  1. Later version MBW bracelets had good hollow mid-links and overall construction, but you would have to source an improved clasp, since those were still way off. I have a couple gen rivet bracelets (USA version) I'm probably going to sell soon, if you might be interested. JJ
  2. No need for gaskets on your rep... just stay out of the rain
  3. FAKE Something so obviously wrong is enough to make a reasonable person question everything else about the watch. Stay Away!
  4. Lol, if he is, he's got forty minutes in already.... ....no wonder she has that look on her face
  5. Very nice! Thanks for posting seafoam! It took me years to warm up to the GMT, but finally the hook is set and I'm waiting for my crown jewel to come home! Enjoy, and wear in good health!
  6. Wow, very nicely done! The research put into building one of these certainly makes this a fun hobby. Next, you'll be adding a gen 1570 to it!
  7. She's just in awe of the LV!
  8. Thanks for posting up Demsey. Your watch has the correct flat four insert and five tic dial. It seems that later reps somehow lost track, with some versions just a hodge podge of different Mk's, with nothing remotely close to gen. I'm glad to see you've kept it all this time. Ever think of doing further mods to it?
  9. Some truly gorgeous LV's posting up. Any others out there?
  10. Sweet! Well put together rep! But, ummm... why do you have a hang tag for a "P" series two-tone daytona?
  11. A couple of years ago, I bought one of my first good rolex reps, a 16610LV from bklm. Soon after I had the watch, I sent it up to RG for a gen triploc and superlume, and I improved the insert and pearl. Between then and now, I sold the watch, but never completely forgot it since I always did admire the uniqueness of the LV sub. Recently, I acquired the grail of LV subs. I'll admit I got super lucky in finding an untouched, and completely original early serial number "Y" LV from the original owner. One of the very first LV's offered to the public, and a true anniversary summer 2003 watch. Here's some pics, hope you enjoy. ...and for those who have LV's, please post up some pics, I'd love to see what's out there
  12. It's not even close Hunter (unless you were being facetious) That watch was not even close, with so many easy tells. If it's still up, check it out and compare it to the first pic (which is a real milgauss).
  13. Haha, glad you got my joke. Actually, the entire watch is fake, and far from being worthy of putting anything gen into it. As a matter of fact, I picked it up on Canal St. in NYC last month for forty bucks
  14. Ok, both of you guys got me! Gen Bezel Gen Insert Gen Dial Gen Bracelet Gen crystal Gen tube Gen crown Shadow onto the gen bracelet from the lug Reflection onto the 18k from the SS I wish I knew how to spot reps so easily when I was new! (jkg!)
  15. I say follow Freddy's advice. If Ubi chimes in I would take his word as gold also. For me, I gave up trying to replicate perfection and settled for buying a gen.
  16. Except for the first pic of a real milgauss (obviously lifted from someone): http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-1950s-ROLEX-MILGAUSS-6541-ANTI-MAGNETIC_W0QQitemZ150369111770QQcategoryZ31387QQcmdZViewItem
  17. It must have been the angle of the picture Vly, your crown is a definite gen
  18. x2! ...ps, I agree about the Hublots! Maybe Ubi can post up a pic of one of his 'tonas so we can pick it apart
  19. mmm... the beauty of 18k
  20. Easy fix, just pop the pearl out and install it into a Jewelry Outlet insert. Her crystals are nice, but are th older ones without the etched crowns
  21. Very nice! I especially like the 6152H
  22. Sorry B, you need to do some work to that WM9, almost everyone spotted it as an easy fake The one on the left is a very nice older sub, he should be proud to wear it
  23. Enjoy your 5512. As far as MBW subs go, the 5512 is the best! Wear it well
