  1. ..but wait! It's got the "rare" lumi dial!
  2. Why would you think it bothered me??? Just trying to enlighten you what has been discussed before, no need to apologize.
  3. I found this after about forty five seconds of using the existing search function.
  4. http://www.network54.com/Forum/207673/message/1291424552/FS.+1680+Red+sub+with+rare+Red+sub+Luminova+dial+and+hands
  5. The same subjects keep coming up over and over and over...
  6. This has been discussed multiple times. Do a quick search and I'm sure you'll find the posts
  7. WooHoo! TOP BIDDER! big crown here we come
  8. I like it, but this is getting close to four line territory
  9. If you're interested, I've got a 1675 vietnam case & bezel complete with a genuine 1675 caseback (among a ton of other gen parts!)
  10. These things should be crushed. We were better off when the rep bracelets looked close enough for absolute beginners but were easy tells for anyone else. I can just imagine how many people have been scammed already.
  11. Thanks for the heads up regarding the messages attached to the auction. A dealer outright lied in a message to this senior seller. I think it's an outright disgrace, and in my opinion is no different than knocking down an old lady and stealing her purse. This certainly has made me lose any respect I had for this dealer. Thanks again for posting the link. JJ
  12. That bracelet would look great on that big crown currently on the bay
  13. Tropicals are nice, and original dealer options back in the day. Here's a pic of my ultra franken bond on a gen swiss tropic:
  14. An ultra rare gem. IMO, the hammer price is good news, and shows a recovery of collectors pieces.
  15. Had my gen A series TT serviced on 5th ave, I kept the flat 4 insert and popped it back in after the service, so not really non-existent
  16. Now there's some good advice!
  17. Haha! Good research Chief! I wasn't aware that the F also came with the flat S.... although, since the new gen crystal is indeed an "S" service crystal, it is still very plausible that the case can also be a service replacement. Believe it or not, those bastages on 5th avenue wanted to replace the case on my oysterquartz when I took it in for servicing because of slight pitting near the caseback. I politely informed them "no thanks", and then took my watch to a very qualified watchmaker who completely serviced the electronic movement and successfully pressure tested the watch.
  18. Diz, I think because of the lighting it gave that appearance to the hands. In order to photograph a gen etching on the crystal, you need to shine a flashlight along the edge of the crystal (in this case, I had a light shining down from the 12:00 position). Super macro (100x mag or more?) will do some strange stuff. Lol, I once saw a thread on a gen forum that said essentially that "beauty is in the amount of magnification!" Haha, just think what hi-def TV did to newscasters!
  19. Did the Zigmeister not relume these good enough? You didn't say why you would change the hands?
  20. PS: I'll be selling the new WM9 "flat S" dial and the 2836-2 movement if anyone may be interested (+ the crystal too!)
