  1. Sweet combination! The 82 always looks good with vintage!
  2. Beautiful watch! I've actually been thinking of buying a gen zenith movement daytona, but as Kruzer noted earlier, a lack of specific knowledge about these watches would certainly put me at the seller's mercy!
  3. Wow, absolutely beautiful! Wear it in good health
  4. Wow Bert, that dome is high! Are you sure that's not a 39 superdome?
  5. Wow, very nice! Do you have any pics of the 1030?
  6. This statement is incorrect. The "M" was a totally different animal, and ONLY available in the 'gauss
  7. Not necessarily, go back and check a couple of the other gen pics that were posted
  8. I agree with Stephane's interpretation of the PM he received. I happen to live in the US, probably in the epicenter of the busiest and rudest place in the world, just outside NYC. Shortly after I first joined this site; during the time I was beginning to have interest in vintage rolex, I PM'd some of the folks here who I thought were "in the know". I can distinctly remember starting off a couple PM's with "I know we haven't spoken before, and I hope you don't mind helping a total stranger..." I realized I was asking someone of their valuable time, and I certainly did not feel "entitled" to any of their consideration. However, I received some very polite and helpful responses. As an unexpected bonus, I ended up making some friends here, and even getting the chance to meet some of the smartest and interesting people I ever have during a GTG in NYC last year. I've received a few PM's very similar to the one Stephane quoted... hmm.. whatever happened to those PM's I received?
  9. Excellent post Rob. Thank you for taking the time to share this info with everyone. It appears that these tiny gears will probably wear to the point of non-function eventually no matter how careful one is; however, taking the care you described will hopefully prolong this from happening for a long long time!
  10. It's nice, but I think I'd rather have a gen 6541
  11. Nice MBW Cats! ...soon you'll end up like the rest of us here, buying parts that cost so much they make the watch look like a bargain!
  12. WOOHOO!!!! DAYTONA TODAY!!!! It's not Monaco, but it is all American as apple pie!!!!
  13. Carpe diem ! Enjoy your day in good health!
  14. Another great car: YES is coming to America!!! Funke&Will AG introduced the second-generation Yes! Roadster at the Auto Motor International Show in Leipzig. The new Yes! Roadster 3.2 and 3.2 Turbo keeps the same approach of an "uncompromising driving machine" which results in "pure driving pleasure". Like its predecessor, the Roadster 3.2 is being built around an aluminium spaceframe chassis with GRP panels. The whole car weighs just 900 kg. It is powered by a new Audi-sourced 3.2-liter V-6 engine, capable of 255 hp. The result is an acceleration time of 4.9 seconds for the 0-100 km/h sprint. The 3.2 Roadster Turbo has a max speed of 281 km/h, courtesy of its turbocharged 355 hp engine. Safety is a key aspect of the car. Optional equipment includes airbags and ABS. Convenience features include chrome and leather trimmed interior and a hi-fi sound system. Each car can be customized according to the buyer's wishes. Compared to the original Yes! Roadster, the new 3.2 has a longer wheelbase, more front and rear overhang.
  15. Very nice Eunomians! Is that an 850CSI?
  16. Here's my 5512. It's a meters first, so naturally it needed a gen twin-lock, folded 9315, etc etc... It's a nice looking watch; IMO the domed 19 adds a nice finishing touch
  17. Beautiful cars have always been a passion of mine.
  18. Nice collection Carl! I like what you did to the SSD, are you happy with the results? Here's a pic of my modded mbw (gen 1570, crown, tube, bracelet, insert.. beautiful work by The Zigmeister). I took this shot of it laying on my drysuit next to my aqua-lung regulator. I just picked up the parts for another one; this time it will have a functional hev courtesy a 'nam case. I recommend renewing your cert for sure. Diving has got to be one of the best things I have ever done.
  19. Simply astounding! Wear it well my friend!
  20. Just got my 5512 back from the master himself, complete with a gen twin-lock, slow beat mvmt, folded 9315, and now a superdome hope you like.. ahh..distortion
  21. 850CSI was always a favorite of mine As for me, my gens are worth way more than my everyday beater
