I wouldn't even know where to begin to look for someone to give it a "good oiling" being that it is a rep. Bummer, it is such a great looking watch and has held up so well in all other areas.....a shame he only got a year out of it.

Where (how) do I get it serviced?

I got my hubby a Panerai last Christmas from Trusty Time (LOVE It, btw!) and it has been great except lately it has been running really fast........as in hours!!! At 400 today it said 530.....now at a little after 9 it says 12!!!! What in the world is up????? What can we do to fix it?

I would buy one too. This is THE watch hubby has been wanting (looked at the real deal a few months ago and he loved it) but I felt that the reps out there were not close enough so I skipped it and went for the Titanium chrono avenger. I would love to have been able to surprise him with the Super Avenger though.

Canuck, I like the black dial better too. I think hubby will as well. (my wrist is quite small but it will fit his perfectly )

Okay, going crazy here trying to figure out which one to get...which is closest to the gen. Here goes:

Please help! Everytime I think I've got it down I see something else or read something else about these watches and I am sooo confused.

A GEN SA case is polished, not brushed.

GEN SA bracelet has polished links with the center a matte finish.

The B-winged logo on the dial is a separate, polished emblem, not printed on the dial.

The dial print is not crisp.

Mine says Breitling then 1884 underneath that, then Chronometre in all caps, then Automatic underneath that, in italics.

Finally, the top register of the chrono is missing the red tick marks.

Date font is WAAAY off.

And that's just at a glance.

Yep, okay, thanks!! Hmmm, a little ways to go on that one yet.

Chrono Avenger rep is in a whole different league. IMHO, still the closest out of the box Breitling rep. The best part is that the gen dials are widely available inexpensiveley and make it 99% with a relume. Also if you want to frankenwatch it, you can add true Swiss 7750 and I found that the date font on the stock ETA was far closer to the gen. Then again you end up with $500-600 into a rep. But it is one hell of a rep. And to this day the only Breitling rep I own.

Thanks for the tip. I think I've decided to go ahead with the Chrono Avenger (even though it is SS not Titanium) as it does look a closer match than the SA after more looking.

Also, for those who has seen a gen SA what is it that would give it away on these??

Okay, so I'm still searching. Most of the Super Avenger models I've seen don't look enough like the gen but these 2 look very close. Am I missing something??

I am really leaning towards the PO but I also like the looks of the Speedmaster Broad Arrow he has. Although I'm thinking it may be too similiar to the Panerai I want to get him.

Hello!! I am new here (been lurking/reading/learning for a few mos though) and am going to purchase a couple of watches for my hubby for Christmas.

I have looked at all the dealers and *think* I've decided on Andrew at Trustytime for this particular purchase.

The question I have is I am undecided between these 2 models he has:

Omega Ocean(#OMG0002ASW) and Omega Ocean Chrono (#OMG0053)

Which is a better rep/watch? The Omega Ocean looks perfect to the gen as I can tell but the chrono is close also. I think he would like the chrono's better but I'm leaning towards the other at the moment.

Also, I want to get him this one as well...Panerai (#P250A01) Daylight Chrono black. I want the rubber strap and the steel. Is this a good rep? (I LOVE it!)
