  1. What do you feel when you turn the crown in the first position? Resistance, noting, clicking?

Hi Rolexman, but I can feel clicking and slight resistance.

After fiddling with the crown for a long time and scoring myself a slight blister on my thumb (for real :wounded1: ), I managed to change the date but only at a very uncomfortable first position (bascially a trial and error position between the first and second position. Every time I try to change it again I need to spend another couple minutes trying to find that "position") -> is this good enough a solution or something else I can do?

Also, not sure if tis is a problem but I realized that the date changes at 2355 for each date. Is this normal?

    TIA!

  2. Hi Guys

I just received my new IWC Mark XVI V2 watch from one of the TDs here.

It looks great to me, but have a problem adjusting the date. Traditionally, the date can be adjusted by unscrewing the crown and pulling it to the first position. Mine doesn't work, and to change the date I need to pull the crown to the second position and adjust 24 hours on the hour and minute hand. :fool:

Any DIY solution to this or advice on how I can resolve this myself? i am about to get a blister on my thumb for adjust 1 to 27!

    TIA!

I will post some pictures after I clean up this little one :)

  3. Well it finally arrived.  I previously owned the MBW Nautilus in S/S a few years ago.  It simply didn't get enough wristime so I moved it on.

Since I've been on a Rosegold binge lately, I decided to pick up this RG Nautilus.

Overall the watch is very well executed.  My twp big gripes are the terribly soft lug bar screws and the stupidly soft lug bar pins.  Shaving down the lugs to fit the OEM strap with a Dremel was not hard.  It can't be done with a small file.  You really need to use a Dremel.  In my case, I used a thin cutoff disk to gently widdle away at the thickness of the lug insert until it fit into the OEM strap.  Not hard, but patience is key.  A little at a time, as they say.  The big pain was getting the lug bar pins into the strap.  Thye're quite soft and they bend easily.  In order to fit, they need to remain perfectly straight--a veritable pain in the a** that took me a tedious couple of hours grrrrrr.  Anyhow, patience won the game and I eventually got the whole thing together.  The silly lug bar screws are useless and they strip very easily.  I'm going to cut off the threads and glue the screw heads in place at some point.

    This is a nice watch.

    The finish is terrific.

It NEEDS an OEM strap.  The rep strap is garbage.

The clasp is really well done, too.

The dial is the usual Nautilus style meaning that it does change colors with the angle of the light hitting it.  Pretty neat looking at it as it goes from from dark charcoal to different hues of brownish grey.

The brushed versus shiny finishing on the watch is stunning, too.

Gorgeous! Unfortunately difficult for me to carry this off without having everyone asking me if it is a gen and wondering how I could have afforded it...

  4. Can anyone , please suggest a good source for rep IWC deployants. I'm looking for 20mm.

    Thanks

there are a few on taobao that go for cheap - you can use a taobao agent, I think it's 5% on top - I'm not an expert, would be good to hear some feedback as well

  5. you guys may want to check joy - just google fabaaa joy or  fang , fangfangbags and i heard ladyfashionsky is pretty good too :) hope that helps

just saw Petitepaula's feedback on joy - she has some hits and misses and shipping is overpriced - on the positive side she has a review function on her site and i usually base my purchases off those. fang's bags are priced on the high side but i have had no issues with all my LVs and Chanels.

  6. For an OTB rep then I would recommend the Hublot Big Bang King Black Magic from the H maker... its the most accurate of the BBKs and KPs... by a mile..

Avoid the KPs as these are very inaccurate or wait as there are a few coming soon ;)

The Blacksteel is nice too and so are some PAMs... but you need to have more of idea what you want in terms of size and design/brand..then I am sure you will get a better more detailed answer..

I personally like the Big Bang All Black II / Big Bang Black Magic II on  Joshua's site – really like the look of the leather with rubber below it (gummy?) but not sure if the watch / strap will be any good coz i haven't seen any reviews.

  7. Hi guys, I know I can search for most noob questions but looks like I really need your expertise on this one.

My dad has a gen Omega Speedmaster that comes with a bracelet but he's been looking for a leather strap for it. I went to the boutiques and authorized dealers but they told me they don't sell the leather bracelet for that model.

I've found a few strap dealers online but not sure what strap would most suit the Speedmaster and what size. HKTan also takes a long time to deliver?

Any advise would be most helpful, I would like to get one in by Christmas.

    Thanks everyone!
