Wow. Just wow. Does anyone actually believe that? Lol

Clark’s has a Tropic 39 that I used on my build all those years ago... to me it looked pretty good - not sure how close to gen but it was definitely not the top hat/flat dome style that’s for the newer replacements...

Hmmm... now that I look at it the 12 marker doesn’t quite line up with the crown - is that normal?
Also, do they make a no rehaut engraving in black or just LV

Would help if I attached pics... lol

These look ok to everyone? It’s been awhile since I’ve ordered a new watch, so was hoping everybody could help me out with the QC pics...
Only thing I could see right off is the bezel insert doesn’t seem to be 100% aligned right, but that can be fixed. Mainly looking for stuff with the dial or DW.
Thanks so much!

So does this have the right movement? I hate the confusion over SA vs SH...

Ah, cool! Might have to get one myself

Beautiful! Gen? If not, where'd you get it? I was looking for one a few years ago and only saw the dual faced ones powered by a quartz movement...

Jewelers Mutual online is the way to go! Cheap and easy to insure your pieces.
+1 - I have my gens and my fiancée and my engagement/wedding rings insured through them. Great service and reasonable prices.

What the heck - I'm in too.

I'll take 20 of the 20mm and 5 of the 19mm...

What's the price? I couldn't see it... :/

Same!

@freddy333 - Do you mean that they sought the Asian market, and the styles popular there, rather than sticking with their "tool watch" origins? Curious as to the increase in case sizes - is that actually popular there? When do you suppose the shift happened?
(Please don't take this as political/trollish/etc - actually curious about this idea, as I'd never really considered it before)

Cool - thanks for the advice. It's a gen watch and a gen dial so no issues there. Point taken about messing up an expensive watch/ dial though...
Maybe I'll see what there is in my area and worst case give it a go myself.

So I just bought a gen luminova dial on here and wondered if it is in the realm of possibility to switch it out oneself... I'm pretty handy with watch tools and am comfortable working with reps but wanted a more expert opinion with regard to gens. Are they that different?

Heck, why not.

Lol - same goes for a lot of my stuff!
That sounds cool... At the risk of derailing who were some of the artists?

Nanuq, I think I speak for a majority of the music community when I say we hate you right now...
Also, sweet Fender... Too bad I was born in the '90s!

I'll definitely take both, and I might be interested in the 6538 too, depending on how it turns out.

What did you use to relume the hands? Looks good!

Tonny watches 6542 dials are snap on... They are a cheap but imperfect option for a gen watch like yours ... They can be had around 200 on the "bay" ... And after that I'll start saving up for gen hands and dial ...
Good luck

Snap on is how the original dials mounted.

The hands don't look too bad. Lume is a little orange but I've seen that before... Overall nice work - not bad for a build it yourself.

Meadowsweet - do you have pics of the process?
