If it has pins on the back then it is a 1675 dial. If it has a ring around the back and no pins then it is a 6542 dial.

Check this one out:

I had been watching this one from the beginning. It started at $150 with no reserve!! you cant blame the seller for that one.

can we know what kind of case you used as a starting point?
tnk
M
Non mbw 1680. Mine was from aBay however other dealers sold the same watch.

Case Is almost finished:
-
Another prototype datewheel, getting closer but still not satisfied:
Changing the angle of the case back edge and overall size:
Adjusting the bevel of the step up on the back of the case:
Thinning the case a bit more:
I still need to open up the rehaut a bit. (a gmt dial is a bit larger than a sub one) However I am going to have to make a special bit to get in there.

how are you doing the datewheel, what software? Care to share?
The software is called Flexi. http://www.scanvecamiable.com/
It is design software mainly for the sign making industry however it is measurement based so it works great for designing anything that need to be precise in size.

Working on refining the alternating red/black datewheel in flexi.

Isn't that my red/black datewheel?
The all black one I used in your 1675 is more correct for that model.
-
Yes, The base is a older aBay red sub case. Then I took almost a full mm off the front to make it thin enough, Knocked the CGs off and took a little off the sides. Tonight I will be working on finishing out the shaping of it and hopefully start in on the polishing & finishing.

WHERE DID YOU GET THAT BEZEL AND INSERT??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CWP, Cost me a nut too.
Here is one more teaser shot, then I am going to bed.

A genuine crystal will fit. I have done it. The problem you will run into is that once a genuine crystal is fitted the fact that your bezel is too thin will really become apparent.
As an alternative you can fit a tropic 19 which has the same inner and outer dimensions but is not as tall.

The dealers are pretty good at slipping them through. I have ordered dozens of reps and never had a customs issue.
Edit: I am on the west coast of the US
