  1. however we are only speaking of cheap replicas here,..

not the real deal,.. which, imo, makes perfect sense, not only in a situation such as this but,

in the majority of purchases we take on via dealers.

Mind you, that I am not speaking of any major work here,... I've not the time, or as you say,

the inclination,.. no,.. just the simple things, the easy adjustments that are almost

so grade school, that an expert would look at you sideways if you were to bring it to him, but be glad

that you did, so he can spend a minute and make a pocket full, all the while laughing inside....

My main point however is what seems like a growing mall mentality that spreads unrealistic expectations

I would argue that $180 for a used watch is not cheap. It may be far less than a genuine daytona, but it is still a fair amount of money to spend.

What you are suggesting is that the buyer (who bought a watch advertised as working) spend an additional $50 on tools, so that he can attempt to fix a watch(with no experience) that he was told was in working order. What you consider easy, others may find difficult.

He payed for a working watch, he should get a working watch. If he had bought a watch that was advertised as needing a minor repair, he would be responsible for fixing it.

I do not think it is unrealistic to expect a working watch, when you are told you are buying a working watch. He is not complaining about a scratch or the lume not being bright enough, he is complaining about receiving a watch that is not working(that was advertised as working).

I think the seller will make it right. :)

  2. Ahh i was once in the same dilema.

I came to a conclusion that it may be the same watch or it may not. It varies greatly with paul's stock. Also some photos shown are stolen from other dealers, and he may send you a different watch.

Also you are paying a premium on the service. If the watch arrives scatched, broken, missing, wrong watch, most of the trusted dealers here will gladly offer you support.

For Paul, he sends watch, that is it.....

The extra you are paying is for a piece of mind. With Paul its a gamble. You may win and save 125 bucks or you may lose and have a 200 paper weight.

Paul is listed as a trusted dealer on this forum.

While it is not a good idea to use other dealers pics. The pic he "stole" was a generic factory pic. It just had trusty's watermark on it. Not the most moral thing to do. But not misleading, as they get some items from the same factory.

The watch I ordered from paul came exactly as described. I have read many reviews praising paul's after the sale sevice. I have also seen a couple of complaints.

I think you are safe ordering from any of the trusted dealers here. Including Paul.

As far as whether the watch is the same, e-mail paul, and josh and ask them. They will tell you the truth.

  3. Did you read the listing? He makes it quite clear that he does not accept paypal. By bidding and winning that auction you have entered into a contractual agreement with the seller. You are obligated to pay him in the manner that he lists on the auction.

Payment must be received within 10 days after auction has ended. WE ACCEPT MONEY ORDERS & CHECKS! (7 days to clear) (Sorry Pay Pal is not accepted) Attention overseas buyers: International money order in U.S. funds Only~

    Payment

I accept the following forms of payment:

    Money Order

    Personal Check

I am guessing this is the item in question.

By bidding on his item, you agreed to use his payment methods. None of those methods are safe for you. But they are very safe for him. If you refuse to pay, the seller can file a complaint with ebay calling you a non paying bidder. Ebay can close your ebay account for this type of activity.

I hope you and the seller can come to a mutual agreement.

  4. You'll have to take my word for it that it had an ETA IWC Aquatimer picture and a low price (I seem to remember it being $79 or so) printed on it. When you tried to buy the $79 watch, it jumped to $149.

    I believe you.

That would be deceptive if it was intentional. I would like to point out, that is a common mistake. I tried to order some marketing merchandise that was marked on special once for $.59 per piece. It turned out that the special was "supposed" to be $.59 off of the regular $6.99 price. So the fact that he had a watch marked with the wrong price does not bother me much. Now if he was charging peoples credit cards for a larger amount than they agreed to, or sent a different watch than was ordered that would show that he was scamming people.

As for my being ripped off, I've never bought anything off Paul. My passionate crusade comes from the number of people that have been ripped off that get forgotten. This forum can be too forgiving at times, and I don't want to see Paul get away with his cheating tricks. We're supposed to be protecting people from being scammed here, and that's what I believe I'm doing. :D

Oh, and let's not forget his ETA-2892 movements that turned out to be Seagull movements.

Are there any posts about this? Do you know how he handled this?

I would be upset if this happened to me and the dealer would not correct the problem. But in all fairness this may not have been Paul's mistake. It may have been a mistake from his manufacturer. I am pretty sure that he does not take apart each watch and inspect it. For the prices he charges, I don't expect him to. But I would expect a replacement if I recieved a product that did not match what I ordered.

FWIW. The watch I got from wo-mart did contain a 2836-2 eta movement. :)

  5. He's the Walmartisation of the rep market. He left here saying how he didn't need us and wrote some very harsh posts about how many sales he had away from the replica sites and that we were nobody. Then he comes crawling back, insulting Precious Time, Josh, TTK, Trusty, etc., and runs a free-watch-for-a-review scam (did anyone get the watch?) and runs another carsy sale after the disaster that was the first one, including a picture of a watch with a price that was a price for a completely different watch.

You can go through and see the edited posts if you look hard enough.

All in all, if you want a cheap watch and are willing to write it off if it has any problems, then sure, use Paulmart. Just make sure you're using the right one of his four websites as they all have different prices.

Oh, let's not forget the "Hi, I'm [censored]" [censored] he foisted upon us, pretending to be a new dealer:

    http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=8284

Come on, his business methods are despicable, and if I don't keep harping on about it, maybe we'll forget, and one day, we'll look for a friendly trusted dealer and they'll all be gone, like the local grocery store put out of business by Walmart.

Could you provide a link to those edited posts. I have searched and read multiple pages of topics and posts and have not found the posts you describe. I can not afford to spend any more time trying to find them.

Could you also describe in what way paul ripped you off. I assume he wronged you personally( because of your passionate crusade to inform us of his misdealings ).

I am also curious how he was able to get approved to be listed as a dealer here if he is so unreliable. Once this forum starts letting scam artists sell here, then it is no better than the replicascam.com sites.

I am not trying to defend paul personally. I have only been here a short while. But I have read many more good things about him than bad. His business practices may be questionable, but every dealer here operates a "questionable" business.

I would like to see the harsh posts he left here. I have already seen the "[censored] post" and the "free watch for review posts" and the "trusty pic post". I would also like to add that in my business it is common to reward customers who recommend us.

I do not think it is good business to use other sites pictures or to pretend to be someone you are not. But I can not be that critical, I am buying counterfeit merchandise. To me the most important things are price, quality, fast delivery. And I must say that wo-mart exceeded my expectations.

  6. I finally talked a friend of mine into letting me open up his "genuine italian replica" that he purchased from global replica a few months ago. I have told him that I did not believe that his watch was a Genuine Italian replica with a genuine italian 27 jewel movement.

Let me say that this is one of the poorest quality reps I have seen. It is a gmt 2. The cyclops does not appear to have any magnification(maybe 1.5, and the glue is visible around the edges), the cg's are huge, there is no markings between the lugs, center links are solid, etc. All this for only $329.

    Here are some pics

    136601-18079.jpg136601-18080.jpg

If any of the experts here know who makes this movement, I would like to know. There are no markings on it. Obviously it is a really cheap asian movement.

    Robert

  7. I would like to start by thanking everyone here.

This site has been a tremendous help to me in my quest to find good quality reps. I have learned more about replica watches(and watches in general) than I thought possible. My biggest problem now is trying to decide witch dealer here to purchase from. :g:

Hopefully, at some point, I will be able to contribute some useful information.

    Robert
