  1. HUGE F*CKING UPDATE! If you've followed my threads on RWI or RG, you would have seen these already, but I wanted to post them here as well.

Some comparison shots next to my super franken 16610 LV which is now sold and shipping out soon

I have to say, for $620 from TC, this thing looks DAMN good next to a Franken that's got gen dial, hands, date wheel, etc in a sean case.  Gen dial alone costs more than the entire TC LV.

I have to report that the bezel seems to be getting better.  I have popped it off and on multiple times, and cleaned it. I still don't have the friction ring on there, but it is getting smoother to rotate.

A couple of things I have noticed

    1) The bezel is extremely tight. Right now I have it on with just the click spring, no friction washer. When I tried to fit just the bezel on the crystal retainer without even the click spring, it was very tough to rotate back and forth. Also, pressing the insert in was EXTREMELY tough. Both the TC new insert and a gen one I have. I'm not sure if that's part of the same problem as the stiffness to rotate, if the overall dimensions of the bezel are just slightly smaller or what.

    2) I tried fitting a V3 bracelet, and the end links were VERY high on the case, like even with the tops of the lugs. So even though the v3 bracelet might be the "best", it wasn't the best on this case IMHO. What's on their now is the V5 93250 it came with.
  3. Mike, I think I wouldn't mind having lume on the hands. If I could age the hands with Super Lume to look like the hour markers, that would be pretty cool.

    Going for vintage/modern blend.

    Curt
I may have them in tritium

Hell, I'm half considering doing this as a total fantasy build and going with a stainless bezel and normal insert for a "Modern Bond" gilt submariner look.

  5. What dials and hands are everyone going to be using with these?  Is there a good rep dial that has gen feet positions?  I've got a sean 3135 dial and gen hands in my current franken build that I'm going to be replacing with a gen 16610LV gen dial and hand set...but didn't know what kind of rep options were out there.  Or are people planning to re-use their rep ETA dials and snip the feet?

  6. Got mine today, anyone else? They both flip the date one day at a time(at least the two times I set them at 11:45pm the date changed fine)

Is it just me or does the bottom one look like the date is not centered on the crown stem? Is that adjustable?

Date flipping at 11:45 isn't an issue, since those are not the final hands.  When you mount the hands, you'll move the time forward till the date flip, and then install the hours and minute hand so they align at midnight when the date changes.
