I second TineT´s words......it is for the 5min. marker....just for underwater, dark and with bad light...you´ll see them better. I for myself pulled the trigger 10 minutes after EL´s mail.....I waited 0.5 years on that modell and I don´t care that it is stainless steel......they will NEVER EVER do a Titanium version! Hopefully the watch will hit my doorsteps end this week or early next one, will keep you posted. Theo BTW: ... the back enraving says stainless steel, better than Titanium and 220gramms in weight

Just Got An Email From Josh About The New Bell And Ross
MADRED7 replied to crystalcranium's topic in General Discussion
@ ALL Guys....there will not be a screw on the backside of the watch, the original has no backscrews and hopefully the rep will NOT have them. The case is screwed from the frontside!!!!! So the rep is all correct so far...... Theo Or am I wrong??? mmmmhhh the website shows not clear enough in the technical data sheet -
I got a lot from A&J....some shipped FedEx, some via private courier, some went the EMS way and others shipped slow boat from china (standard airmail). I prefer standard airmail, it takes around 5 workingdays to arrive and is normally not 100% cust. checked. I never had any probs with their shipment, regardless what method they used!!! Trust them, Theo

MADRED7 replied to V's topic in General Discussion

@ finepics the watch you show is..........real. But I recently saw some reps (handmade) with a good BREVET+ engraving....unfortunately on the wrong side of the case P.S.: .....these caseback of my watch shown was handmade and extremly expensive.....the maker will never do this again, he hates me now  P.P.S.: Good eyes saw the screws .... and correct, it should NOT have screws but pins! Theo

First let me say you did great on your piece. As a long time collector and a connoiseur of vintage Panny and the history I had many chances to hold the original 6152 (and others from the early 1940ies) in my hands. Let me say........the most of them differ in dial, hands and plexi! But what I never saw a round shaped/domed crystal/plexi like the FIDDY has it in saphir, all plexis I could inspect were domed and poke out of the bezel by 2-3mm. Have a look at this piece, is it real or fake????? Best wishes, Theo P.S.: This is really easy for the experts, really easy, its kindergarten!

For the new model I just see some minor flaws: - the recessed subdials should have a polished ss ring around (the rep dials are just a bit recessed. - indizees (dots) are a bit too big - case is SS and not Titanium as it should be (anyway they did put "stainless steel" on the back-engraving instead of predicting it to be Titanium ) I do like the watch and I ordered it allready.....wonder how it will look on my new WWII Ammo pouch strap, haha a 300$ strap attached to a 278$ watch, thats so lavish Theo

Guys, I am so excited.....ordered Andrew´s newly introduced PAM225 SlyTech white dial in 47mm, this watch shows large improvements to the earlier presented black dialed model! To be honest ....... when that watch was introduced by OP last year I never noticed it, when I saw it in some posts on Pa....i.com I thought: "eeeerrggh, puke, what an ugly monster!" But some weeks ago I got the chance to hold the real deal in my hands and put it on my wrist.....and I got hooked from that point. This will be a great addition to my collection......the only other white dialed PAM I have is the "old" PAM Daylight with swiss 7753 movement and new black subdial hands. So now I am unpatiently waiting for the next 1.5 weeks untill that beast hits my doorsteps, ...anyone else ordered that watch???? Best wishes, Theo
-
....your watch looks awsome, I really love it. BTW: I took your advice and waited (still waiting) for a good version of the World Theo
-
I totally agree with BigNasty...... this Breitling allways catches my interest amongst all the Navitimers and because I am now only used to BIG Watches (47mm), this 46mm beast will fit prefectly. So it has to come with AR coating and NO lense effect crystal!!!!! and of course the new 7750b1. ANDREW.......please read this.....bring it to us with a good new crystal, pleeeeeeaaaaase!!!!!! and the 7750b1 pleeeeeeeaaaaaase!!!!! Waiting is......Theo

Pam 203 8 Days Brown Dial With Strapmasters Shark
MADRED7 replied to rolli's topic in The Panerai Area
...thats right...I second rmcsherry´s words......I´d take it off your hands.....actually I am searching for this piece. Wanna sell??? Theo -
I like the crown....looks unique! The new bezel will make a huge difference on your watch, but please remember that also the back should be thicker than the standard ss backs (at least double thickness)....this will further improve the vintage look. Theo P.S.: if you need a side pic or compare pic....drop me a line!

V, you can turn the CG upside down.....and if you don´t like the pin look.....just get the pin out and attach it the other way around......it´s quite easy I did it. And on my 6452 projects I just decide if up or down.......it was allways possible and I don´t care about the pin Keep me posted, Theo

Pam 187 - Different Dial And Index Colours?
MADRED7 replied to seanschris's topic in General Discussion
I have 2 of those 187 ....the 2nd generation.....and some days ago I realised that the greenish numbers and indizees start to darken, they loose their color, very weird. It seems just like those original Pre-Vendomes with the bad varnish on the dial. I had the watch for 4 weeks in the sun, some days in bright sunlight at the seaside. I am not really sure if I like it or not. Theo -
I want to see those rocket-pics....lounge-ing beauty with some nice vintage pieces on some new pieces Theo
-
Have this piece for 5 days now and it is amazing, never thought I would ever buy/wear a PANNY with blue dial ANSWERS: 1) to be honest I have no idea, it sits flush to the case and it is thick like it should 2) the dial is blue and should be blue, if the color meets the real specs??? I have not had a real deal in my hands but will prove it this month 3) the lume is a little bit better compared to the PAM187 e.g. but still the crappy 30-minutes-fading type All in all this is an absolute MUST HAVE, with 44mm it looks bigger than other PANNYs cause the bezel is thicker and the watch is higher. So go ahead, you´ll love it. BTW I attached the "old" Kevlar velcro diver strap and this makes it even more tool-like. Best, Theo
-
Nice one me like a lot The blue of the strap is not that obvious and makes the whole watch a stunning tuna! Mine should arrive early next week........have to go and search in my strap drawer for a nice fit. Theo

Hi shultz, the whole 202 rep is a dead giveaway....the case is totally wrong and should be the same like the 187.....wait and maybe time brings us a new, updated 202 version. Theo
-
...ohoh, I can clearly understand your problem....I was in the same boat but I managed to live with it.....right now my problem has even reached a new stage......I think my 44mm Pannies are all too small since I have some 47mm Pannies (FIDDY, MM-Destro, 6452, 3646, 187....). I can only wear ...lets say the Bentley 49mm or the new Breit World with 46mm..........but hey I can stop easy, any time I want I can come back to smaller watches, reduce my dosis, no problem.......ohoh the doorbell....I have to go....my dealer

...another 13 days w/o any notice on the bezel markers. Has anybody out there got their spare markers or bezels?? I know it is hard to get the spare parts, but a good service should cover this. I believe EL will take care, I strongly believe. best wishes, Theo

New Project ~ From 217 To Vintage Pam ~ Update!
MADRED7 replied to Bignasty's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
@ BigNasty... I like your attempt of building a vintage Panny, here are my thoughts on your shown watch: 1) the dial is very nice, good old patina to the numbers and the black color is faded too.....as finepics mentioned, the numbers should be filled with a clear varnish ...... if you want to do that in a low budget style, get the dial out again, seperate the cutoutdial and the lumi-plate, apply a bit of clear varnish (the gals use for their fingernails ), over the luminous numbers and markers, wait some minutes (not too long cause this varnish drys fast) and but both dial parts back together, DONE! 2) the hands are a mixture of vintage and new.....not my cup of tea, I would sandpaper the shiny gold color down to a nice brushed surface, when doing that with very sandpaper the luminova will also get a bit older (ok, yours is old enough). 3) unfortunately your dial enscription Marina Militare has gone......, next time try to just get rid of the PANERAI or using the fiddy dial....get rid of the 1950, also the little markers from the small seconds are missing, but you can engrave those markers with a dremel and fill them with white color. 4) the crystal looks like mineral......try to get a plexi or plastic glas to install 5) the solid screwed caseback will be a very nice addition and upgrades your watch by 50% (I exchanged all my see-through backs by solid ones, except for an watch with an old Cortebert that looks nice). 6) if you have any chance....try to get push-pins for the strap lugs....in the 1950ies Panerai did not use screw type but kind of push-through pins (some guy on the BWF offers thick push-pins in 26mm!). 7) if you really want to improve the look of your watch you need to get another dial......the modern numbers are way smaller than the old ones.....Davidsen carries those RXW-MM20 dials with orange vintage lume in BAse style.....get rid of the small seconds from the movement (grind it down).....than you´ll have a wonderfull Marina Militare Destro ..and btw...I have the above mentioned project on my table right now, waiting for some Davidsen parts to build a wonderful MM Destro Cheers and don´t forget....TGWHD (ThanksGodWeHaveDavidsen) Theo -
......I still wait for my replacement markers. But EDDIE promised me that they were allready shipped......and of course we know EL´s service Will keep you updated, Theo

Thx guys...so we can come back to the original thread! Theo

DID I SAY CLOSE THE THREAD??????? NOOOOO, the story continues and will hopefully have a happy ending.....ANGUS / PureTime showed up again on the other forum Will keep you updated, Theo (aka Thorsten)

Guys, c´mon calm down please! ´My post was not to start some blackmailing on a dealer or start any action of self-judgment. I just want an information, that´s all. OK, lost 500$ but this will not keep me from buying reps and post on this forum. So I believe we can close this book and get on with our 2nd life (the rep hobby) Thank you all for your kind words and help, I will still hope that Angus will appear once again. Best wishes, Theo
