It's a genuine MKI 1.6mil series to mod 2mil series
I have the same dial in my Franken.
about the lume markers, it's hard to say.
It's not so much the colour that puts me off, but the wobbling outline.
But since the hands are way darker, I'd say refinished dial!
Looks absolutely perfect.
Personally I'd get rid of that jubil on the old one and buy a nice 7206
Jubi is great on the new on, but not as much on the aged IMHO
Well, not my weak point.
I'm just saying, there is no need for wild speculation.
What I do know, it was Rolexaddict who first tried the 1655 to 1675 conversion...back when he was still posting at RWG.
Very nice build mate,
about your Q.
Depending on what you want your watch to be.
Really well taken care off? Only worn a couple of times over the years? Then I'd say fat front...it's in remarkable shape.
I it recently serviced, plexi exchanged, service dial, service insert!
Since yours has a service dial, I'd say thin front insert
Careful Frank.
You are implying something, you actually have no evidence of.
You have no idea how much Andygt or I have paid for our builds.
You don't know the price of Zeleni's either.
I think it's best we keep concentrating on the facts we are all aware of.
Like I said before, the WSO bezel is a gen style bezel.
The question is, if it fits historically to your dial and case.
The shallow cut bezel would never be seen on a PCG gilt chapter dial, except for a replacement bezel.
That's all I wanted to point out with my post
Very nice, it's the same MKI I have installed in my Cartel 1655
So it must be your case or your dial is damaged.
My dial fitted exactly inside the case, not much room for movement though.
DW is perfectly centered with the gen dials
Not more correct, but a different production model.
The gilt dial 1675 without "chapter ring exclamation" is a rare piece.
I've seen it PCG and square
With small GMT hand as well as normal
All 1960-1965

Ingod will have dials soon. You can contact him outside ebay anyways

He replied to me via this email a couple of times.
Anyways you also got PM from me
Zeleni, you are a great guy. I'd help you anytime again
I'm getting [censored] swamped with pictures of JJ's gorgeous 1675 builts tho' ....yours, Andy's, Eiders...
Yours has lovely patina! Looks just awesome!
Enjoy it
Much obliged RA & Scope
Naturally, since l only had this bezel to try out the technique, the finish could be a little bit better.
The post was more ment to be a guide for those with actual skills and tools like RA, Scope and Andy as well as Donerix
I'm just a kid who likes to experiment
Roning, it's safe to say :
The only thing consistent with the 1675, is the inconsistancy
Your bezel is a genuine post 1975 bezel...very late issue I'd say.
It's too evenly defined to be an aftermarket.
Thanks for the kind words.
The thing is, I'm always unafraid to mod my own watches...I broke a few tho'
I have done small modding jobs in the past for RWG friends, but I'd never take any money for it....
However I can't cover if anything goes wrong either.
Little difficult, but modding those supposed to be "gen-like" bezel to match your dial and case is possible.
I took the insert off for modding the bezel and just put it back in for the pics.
I didn't push it in hard enough obviously...it sits flush and thight now
@Andy
I had a dremel as well, but it's pretty hard to work exact with it.
Using a jewelers file, having the right shape is easier and more exact.
So what had I learned?
I wanted my watch to simulate a 1969 MKI 2.4 Million Serial
The bezel I got had kinda flat cuts, which weren't deep enough to actually be from 1969.
They looked more like the ones from 1978 or later.
Moreover the cuts were uneven, some deeper, some flatter.
So I started to plan the recut:
I used a goldsmith's file and the hand polishing machine. (I'm related to a goldsmith)
This is the final result:
I hope you too think this is an improvement
Please share your thoughts and feedback
Cheers
Akira
