  1. You said you have been waiting for this rep for very long time ... Can I ask you how long and who is the collector?

I have waited a long time before purchase, always something else came up, but finally I bought it from the latest batch from Andrew. If you meant shipping time, it was quite nomal, about 10 days. Actually I bought two, one for a friend. As a good friend, I am now the owner of an excellent rep with a slightly inaccurate bezel. :D Looking for a gen/rep bezel or tab, anyone?

  2. No the screws actually do hold the tabs on. I had a BCE that had screws that were too short and you could yank the tabs right off. I now have a gen bezel and the screws are longer and more secure when screwed down.

Seems like the gen bezel is the way to go then. Appreciate all input, thx.

  3. In the meantime, take the other tabs off, clean up any dirt under them and use some loctite when you put them back on. Contact Eurotimez and see if he can source you just a bezel. He's been very helpful to me.

Thank you - will do. These screws are only pressed in, right? I was thinking I could swap rider from the SOFS (which is sent away for repair), but from what I have read that will not work.

  4. Wow you realy dont have a serial number, aparet from that it looks fine, but can any one explane the yelowing around the markers and number s, is it just a reflection? a reflection with that AR???

I have seen this on a few other pictures here on RWG too. Seems like the golden rings around the hour markers reflects on the white dial. On other members watches this phenomenon is not present. I always fooled myself thinking the other pic's were Photoshopped but now I'm worried. It should be a swiss from the information I was given, have no reason to believe anything else, AR seems fine to me, but no expert I am...

Here are a few pictures that I recieved before purchase, is this a 'normal' SOSF or is it a freak-watch?

  5. Can you give me details on how to get the parts and do the operation?

    Many thanks!

Jupp, sure. Must say first that I'm no watchsmith at all, and this is about the most I've done on my watches except for regulating speed..

    1. Sent dealer, in this case Andrew, one email, requesting bezel insert, color black

    2. Got the insert free in no time (thank you very much, btw)

    3. Thinking what the h... do I do next

    4. Searching the forum

    5. Finding different post describing the procedure

Fetched a hair-dryer, heated the bezel for about 20-30 secs and the bezel insert was loose in the groove. It's actually cheap, two-sided tape that is holding the insert, looks disappointing actually. Mine had scratches so I didn't bother to be careful when ripping it off.

Then use double-sided tape, or super-glue to reinstall your new insert. Be careful, if you use to much glue here, the bezel could be VERY hard to turn afterwards. It happended to me, clumsy as I am, and I stayed up all night just turning the bezel so that it shouldn't freeze... kiddin.

    Good luck

  6. I have the 4th gen PO, and there are a few light dings/scratches that somehow found their way into my bezel. Does anyone know if you can polish these out?

Otherwise, anyone know how hard it is to swap bezels?

For some reason this watch doesn't thrill me anymore, and the cosmetic dings aren't helping :(

    Thanks in advance,

    M

I got somehow tired of my PO 4gen Orange myself, but I swapped to a black bezel insert. That made the watch all new and fresh to me. A very easy operation, and my supplier sent me the insert in no time.

  7. Agree with PAM1A in most of his reflections, but I like the black dial much more than the white

You should not worry too much about the size, the Fiddy and the Navi World were my two latest purchases, and the Navi W wears A LOT smaller than the almighty Fiddy. It has been my everday wearer since it arrived, on a very nice black BOB strap well worth the money.

I found the regular Navi's to be too small even for my wrist, the thickness - wel, it ain't a slim and elegant dress watch, but hey, it has a goood appearance both for casual and dressy occations.

Despite the well known flaws, like a small date window etc, this watch/strap combo gave me a goood feeling, and that is really what this hobby is about for me. :)

    Well, my 0.02$ anyway.

  8. When this tread started out, It was about false advertising, (still is) and from my point of view:

I find myself on a complete different level than many of the educated contributors in this tread. The last few months I actually have found it quite interesting browsing around different dealers sites/photoalbums, decide on a prospective next buy, and then read everything written about the subject to find out it this is really THE ultimate, if the AR was that great, and if the lume really was like a torch in the dark... and then take the chance on pressing the button.

In this context the forums fulfill every need of a newbie like me. I can on the other hand understand that more expirienced members feel the need to get rid of some of the BS-advertising, and sure, the best thing would have been straight forward, honest information without the sugar on top, especially since you educated guys see right through the BS anyway...

I myself has considered this as a part of the learning process.

But when it comes to movements..?! Come on..

  9. Ouch. That is uncalled for, Trusty. Back of the class for you.

No, no. Not Andrew. That was actually Joshua.

I asked about this 2892-issue, and he clarified this and said sorry for being giving incorrect information.

I did not care so much then, I knew what I bought from reading different posts about this specific topic previous to the purchase I did from a fellow member, that was the good thing tough. But IMO the movement information provided correctly is an important issue for those of us not able to spot a movement from pictures.

I myself read a-lot and when I finally do another purchase, the movement-info better be right.

  10. Exploding crystal: the crystal factory has switched to a much cheaper material. I had this happen to me about 2 months back, posted in the "repair" forum, and at that time no one had ever heard of this happening. Now it's a common occurance.

Ok, PAM-PAM-PING all around the world now... well that's not good

Spoke to Davidsen and he can provide a new and apparently better one, but will this fit? And do average watchsmiths have these kind of tools needed for replacing the glass, or must I now send the broken baby away :g: ? Questions, questions...

Any help will be appreciated, hate to see this broken beauty in my watchbox.

  11. Well yes, maybe for you.

I'm convinced that the Demon has somehow physically entered my iMac itself, and after opening it up, I am proceeding to pry out any offensive-looking transistors - or anything else that I believe should not be there.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Me myself must have scared the demon away with cursing alone. Yepp, problem solved then.

Solution: Seems like extreme cursing and screaming to the screen is the only thing that help.

  12. Puggy.

Its only here and after i fix it i dont get more.

But i visit like 50sites a day and only place i got error safe was here so this site was only one that the problem came.

    Easy.

So Dani, again.... What kind of magic did you perform to fix it?

  13. Errorsafe is driving me crazy too. I've tried several computers at different locations but only get Errorsafe on RWG. Errorsafe is not installed on pc (checked), but offers from Errorsafe to install its crap spyware is offered everytime I log in to RWG. If one sets protection to maximum on IE it overrides Errorsafe but this makes surfing to other webpages harder since no cookies is accepted at all.

Is it the ads on RWG that draws Errorsafe in, is the ads worth it? At least for me this Errorsafe will limit my visits to this forum =(

Same with me, there is no Errorsafe neither on the work computer or on my persoal computer, I've checked again anda again, Spybot S&B/Ad-aware, Windows Defender, Norton, and also with the Sysprotect remover. Nothing works, and it's only on RWG that this problem occur. My office PC is clean as a virgin; new and guaranteed never been in the internet-jungle..

I wonder why there is only a few members on the forum that are reporting this to be a pain... <_< that for sure indicates that the problem is not the ads alone....hmmm.

Btw, the answer from Admin was very good, but did not solve my problem. I'm no ereally xpirienced regedit-guy, so maybe the $29.99 is the last hope then
