You're living the dream! I always wanted to be a pilot but there's a reason I went to art school. Math is hard.

I'm definitely taking the Speedmaster Professional plunge this year! Base version with the plastic crystal is the way to go with these puppies. Lots of preowned ones out there!

Great comparison, thanks for sharing.. RMs are my favorite!

Excellent post, thank you for taking the time to write this, great info here I will say that I just recieved the Noom PAM112M and the AR coating / effectiveness seemed a bit weak overall. It just isn't as effective as some other reps I own. Maybe it's the domed crystal that causes more reflections?

Personally the movement isnt as important in terms of looks as the watch on your wrist...if thats what you are considering
If you did show someone the back of it.... and they know enough to spot a fake movement then it dont matter which you have...
The dial to me is more important and especially the lume
So I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you prefer "H" version? In the comparisons I saw for the 111s the noob seemed to be closer to the gen but I could have misinterpreted. I should probably spend some more time looking at dials and then decide. For me, the case + CG finishing would be most important to me.

I had the same dilemma and went with the better movement. I've got both H and N versions of base or marina watches and the noobs just feel better. Comes down to personal opinion though in the end and both factories are churning out amazing watches so you won't lose out either way. Before you pull the trigger on a non "seconds at 9" base, it might be worth reading this though.
Thanks for the feedback and link I will check it out.

I've been obsessing quite a bit on the pieces from H and Noob factory after putting the kabosh on a gen purchase. There's been a bunch of comparisons on the 111s but not as much on the 112. I understand that the Panerai "A" is incorrect on the Noob dial but the movement seems to be better. Are there any clear winners in your opinon? (I'm losing sleep over this) Any 112 pics would be appreciated.

These guys might be worth a try http://www.crystalfit.com/faqs.html although when it comes to sapphire crystals for are 212/253....I wont hold my breath.
Good luck with your watch guy...as you said....keep us posted.
Mike
thanks Mike!

Thanks for the advice gents. My local watch guy said he could find something close if I bring him the watch + pics of gen. Thanks for sending the military time link, never saw that one before. I will keep everyone posted.

I found this but I am not sure if it will work. I would need to research further. Does anyone have any guesses?
-
Certainly not heard of any progress mate, indeed the one likely one fell to the wayside... but given the gen construction method I would think its a forlorn hope
But thats no reason to have it sitting in the box mate....
I guess I can wear it with a shattered crystal and start a new trend!
-
Can anyone please help point me into the right direction. I know there were several projects / attempts at this but I am unsure of any outcome. If anyone knows where I can find one, please let me know. I hate to see the watch sitting unused

Patek 5711G is a great dresswatch. The new ones are very close to the real deal.
Here's a gen:
Doesn't get more classy than that imo!
That gets my vote!

It does look cool, I wonder if a carbon AP is far away?
I'm take a wild guess that this carbon is wrapped around a steel case, I doubt it's molded carbon. The AP Alinghi uses forged carbon, and entirely different process that rep makers won't spend the time or $$$$$ to duplicate. It has a different look to it as well.

I saw that on Josh's site last night and could not believe my eyes! Looks like a winner. Love the gummy crock strap.
-
The bidding is over 2K now. Am I missing something?
-
You don't see these very often.Do you think this pricing is out of line? I managed to snag one for $950 new. The quality is excellent though
-
It was my first rep and possible my favorite to this day. I've seen couple of crystal projects come and go that have yet to bear any fruit. This can be a frustrating hobby at times.

The missing index marker at the 12 o'clock on the MBW was a deal breaker for me....Nahpiek needs to get that part fixed....i could live with the secs at 9 and maybe the dial spacing but in the end I went with the Cartel version...easily had on the 3rd floor in MBK....
And the Nylon/Kevlar EOD strap from Luca is a must!
and thanks for the write up!
cheers
Great post. Is there a way to add the missing marker? I bought the MBW when it first came out and am in the same boat as you.
-
please put me down for one.. thank you

still anyone that even now the name "all black" will see its rep, but yeah if thats no problem then buy it i agree their.
I
Also On Mark's site they are listed as "black Magic" not all black. There is confusion on his part. Nonetheless, I can recommend the watch and Mark as a vendor.
-
none of the examples shown are an "ALL BLACK" they have very dark gray metallic numbers. That said, I have the first one listed and it looks like a million bucks in person, just one of the many offshoots that hublot creates. If you can get over the fact that it is not an exact copy of a particular model you will be very happy. I'm telling you, the watch looks AMAZING in person.
-
I have the TTK first generation, no pics though.
-
By the way, Mark has a higher beat model of his $400 version. I think I'm pulling the trigger.

Love this site. If you're flashing reps as real ESPECIALLY on places like instagram you deserve to be called out on it.
