I have heard great things about him but I can't seem to get a hold of him to ask if he has time to build a datejust ii for me. Is there any way? As it appears is pm box is full
-
I was wondering are most watches are able to be sourced? Because all the sites seem to have a low selection of DateJust II dials with Roman Numerals. I have reached out to Toro and he says nothing is available.
I am looking for the dark blue or silver dial with Roman Numerals

I was wondering if the new white ceramic offshore has been replied yet

I was looking to get an AP. However, the thought of the untrustworthy second at 12 breaking down on me is putting me off.
I hear of franken projects and such. I am more so interested in just switching out just the movement, as gen hands and dials are not TOO big of a concern for me at the moment. I've looked at forums and it appears that people use the Maurice Lacrox with a Dubois-Depraz module.
So i was wondering how often can someone come across a movement like this and usually for how much? Plus i know it'll be really hard to find a watchsmith capable of the switch. But i would really prefer to have more peace of mind with a better movement

I am interested in the
http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=21_335&products_id=9078
and was wondering what the reliability on the a2836 with a mod at 6 is for a daily beater. i know mods at 6 tend to be ticking time bombs on the a7750, but i am not sure for the a2836.
This one is a 25 jewel modded so i was wondering if this is more reliable and should run well. -
I've been looking at the calibre de cartier for the longest time and came across
http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=21_335&products_id=9078
and it says modded with subdial at 6. How bad is this mod? is it a time bomb like the daytonas?
but this isnt an a7750 mod but a 2836 mod.
I came across an old thread saying that this mod isnt that harmful. But i know with all mods, they could be iffy.
Can anyone provide input?
Thanks,
-
I found a watch maker who i will be meeting up with who says he's comfortable with repairing replica watches and can fix a7750 movements "with his eyes closed". However, i did not ask him about servicing.
I assume that repair does not mean the same as servicing?
Also, after i told him I had an AP second at 12 and tried explaining to him the situation. I am not quite sure if he understands that it's modded.
Is there a huge change from a a7750and a modded sec@12 that would be quite different or would he catch on pretty quick?
Thanks,

Does anyone know anyone in Canada that could do work like him?
-
Yes i am in Canada correct. Toronto to be exact.
I can't even find anyone to service my watches. I already have an AP that stops moving at times even on my wrist.
So let alone tourbillons.
Trying to get as much info as i can
-
I was thinking of getting a hublot tourbillon or a cartier de calibre tourbillon for daily wear for work and such.
I was wondering since i hear it is really hard to find a good watchsmith that is good at working on rep tourbillions or servcing them. I hear a lot about servicing rep movements, but i havent seen much info about servicing tourbillons.
I was wondering how long do they usually last with extended wear? or is this not reccomended?
any advice is appreciated.

I was wondering if using an unserviced a7750 AP as a daily beater is a viable or good idea.
I am asking because I am from Toronto and I am having trouble finding anyone to service my watches. And I want to wear an AP daily.
Also, my friend had a bad idea of putting his AP in a watch winder box and after a month his AP started losing time and occasionally the seconds got stuck at 30 seconds. Im afraid that wearing it everyday is like puttig it on a winder. I was wondering if anyone could help him as well.
Thanks. All replies are welcome

Hi, sorry to hijack the thread.
But i was wondering where you toronto gta guys get your watches serviced
thanks,
-
Hi,
i was wondering if anyone had connections or know of anyone capable of servicing an AP @ 12 in toronto or in the GTA it was running good for about 6 months and now it loses time and dies frequently although it still works.
I have tried to PM the zigmeister as i heard he's based in Canada, but he has turned off his PM.
So any help would be great as i would hate to have a dying watch.
Thanks,
-
I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on an all black watch?
I was leaning towards a hublot Bb, the hublot tourbillon, or an all black Rolex.
However for the Rolex. I don't like how the face has so much writing on it on the all black Rolex.
As for the Daytona's. Have their movements been modified or more reliable now?
Thanks everyone

I was wondering if there are any replicas out there with actual working minute repeaters
i currently have my eye on a jaeger le coutre or ap
but i go to all the rep dealers and none of the descriptions of the watchers
talk about working minute repeaters

i was wondering if there were any jacob&co dealers out there that has this watch?
http://www.jacobandco.com/catalogs/38-world-is-yours/items/524-jacob-co-swiss-made-quartz-watch
ive lookd at all the trusted dealers from this forum and another and i see that only
watcheden has a wider selection in this type of watch.
i know the quality won't be as good as say a pam, but something about this watch appeals to me
thank you

thanks for all the input.
i have let the power reserve die so it's not moving.
will swirl it for a while and wear it for a while. then try again
thanks a lot for the inputs
so i guessing the problem is in the power reserve and not in the movement itself?
-
would it be alright if i just let the power reserve die down.
then try this process with your method all over again?

I got my first rep watch today a Breitling Bentley
and i followed all the steps a noob should do
i turned the crown clockwise 15 times to get it moving
and i turned it face up against my palm and gave it a nice twirl
and the 20 40 60 second dial started to move
so i gave it some more twirling and then i activated the chrono and it started moving
then i pressed the stop chrono and the chrono stopped moving and then i went to reset
however, nothing happens and the hand won't jump back and reset to the top
is this normal or did i do something wrong?
or maybe because i dont have enough power reserve?

Is there a significant difference between brushed case and polished case?
Because I was looing at a breitling bentley 30s but the dealer told me that they only have brushed now.
So I was wondering does it really matter?
Is it all in the looks or is the quality of a brushed case inferior to a polished one?
Thank you

How much does a quartz one usually go for? I've beeen looking around and I don't see any under 250. My bugets around that much
-
If you like it buy it, I have a few 21j watches myself.
However...
Is what I mean by day/Month, yes like that they work but a stopwatch function needs seconds/minutes/hours.
Ken
thanks a lot
so i guess this means the chronograph isnt really useful then :S
if it cant keep track of time
-
Faux means the dials do nothing ie: the hands don't move
Day/Month means instead of seconds/minutes/hours you get hours/days/Months
Ken
I'm leaning towards getting it still
but does that mean the 2 buttons are useless? and it doesnt work as a stopwatch
cuz it says:
Fully Functional Day-Month-Military time chronograph dials
sorry if i sound noob, but been doing a lot of research lately
