  1. Oops, I seem to have touched a raw nerve here for many.

    I didnt mean to.

Perhaps I have been more exposed to low quality reps and do require to indulge in some more serious quality buying. :g:

    I retract my statement.

    :D

    RWG rocks :1a:

No. You shouldn't be retracting your statement. It has been a quite a while that I check into RWG. Lately, I've been to WUS more often. I have few reps I still love, but I have developed more affinity to gens lately. Weather it is high end rep or not, rep is rep and gen is gen. I see Davidsen watch in WUS as Homage watch w/o PAM logo. Why? no matter how close or good to PAM, it is still rep and illegal(unfortunately). I love my PAM063 rep dearly despite of minor flaw. I like my DeBaufre Nav B 44mm w/ Unitas which is essentially same as PAM 111 movement plus warranty. It is simple love of watches and up to each individual's taste and opinion. However, if it is going to be tool watch, go for gen. You don't want to dive into deep sea with rep diver, would you? :p

  2. It's good to see post about Saigon. I was there early October for mission trip. I had a chance to go Bantham market( night market for tourist as I was told). One store selling replica was really bad. All they had was Canal street stuff. I asked for better PAM. Guy brought out case with some of better watches but still, you get better quality from dealers here. Artkos they had was missing 'N' and didn't know about it. They show me Breitling w/ CN movement telling me it was swiss movement. Price? $600.00 LOL!.

Flex, did you get to see Cu Chi tunnel? I am more sympathetic toward Vietnam war vets now. Thanks for the pics!

  3. It is matter of if you are brusing properly rather than relying on performance of electric brush. Before plunge $$ for electric brush, try this. Get plaque disclosing tablet or solution from your dentist's office or drug store. Brush with your usual brush, then try disclosing tablet. It will show you if your brushing technique is good or not. Most time, you will find habitual brushing which may leave out plaques on your teeth. If you tend to brush with force, meaning brushing hard, get a soft brush. If you are inclined to get electric brush, Rotadent is a good electric brush. Not widely known but many hygienist would recommend it. For me, again, it is matter of proper brushing technique over technology.

  4. I think scammers are the weakest of criminals. I have more respect for the guy that robs people face to face with a knife. Both types of thieves are desperate, but the scammer is more elaborate in his thievery, and he preys on people far away that can't touch him. WEAK. I personally never understood risking jail time for such relatively small amounts of money. I can understand, say, 20 million, but a thousand here and there? Why?

Anyway, guys who got ripped off by this dude, I hope everything works out, and don't worry, he'll get his.

I understand you meant well and what you are trying to say, but there shouldn't be any respect for anyone if your are threatening others life or their possesion by any means. I guess either you were never mugged @ gunpoint or knew someone killed by knife during robbery. Well, I do. :(

  5. :whistling: Responsibility and cash. Leave the significant other at home as you will have more fun in the county. Camera and a healthy appetite for night life. The club in the Venetian Tower is the best on the strip. I am taking a trip to Vegas in November, Wynn here I come.

Please LEAVE the 111H in Torneau at Caesar's Palace ALONE as this has my name all over it. Do not forget your clubs. Vegas has many great courses.

Last July, Torneau was fresh out of any Panerai. Now people are catching on PAM. I did have chance to toy with IWC Aquatimer chrono. Very nice watch.

In my experience, wear what moves you and feel comfortable and confident. Have a responsible fun as TWP said.

  6. I just checked into off topic section and I found sad news. My prayer goes out to you and your family. I learned from my stay at WLA VA Hospital, number of Vietnam vets suffered from Agent Orange. Prostate Ca was also one of problems. It is sad truth that many vets fought for country are not being properly cared for.

I believe that your father will live on as you live on. May peace and comfort be in your heart...

  7. I would agree with Nanuq and Chronomat123. DEspite of our rationalization of collecting reps and spending $$ for mod, in the end, it is rep. My watchsmith acknowledges that reps are becoming so accurate that without opening the back, can't tell the difference that easily. However, once back is opened, it's different story. Rep is still a poser, no more than that.

Nanuq, now you are making me tempted!

  8. Exactly. What happened has nothing to do with guns, this was a seriously mentaly ill person, he could have run a lorry into a group of school chilldren, blow up a building or set the lecture hall on fire, the availability of guns wouldn't change his medical condition, which was clearly serious.

First, my prayer goes out to victims, their families and also family of assailant. As Polynomial put, all previous shooting rampages, Columbine, Amish village etc, were done by disturbed individuals. Oklahoma bombing as well.

If legally buying gun was not possible, do you think assailant would have been given up on this? I do not think so. There would be a good chance that he would acquire illegal gun and ammo anyhow. Many times, issue becomes matter of owning gun or not. To me, evaluating and helping these individuals to prevent this tragedy comes first, though it is not an easy task.

  9. Very nice watch and you did well with the Sharpie coloring. :) I just wish it had a date window, I would use that more than the chrono to time myself running up and down the stairs at work. ;)

I happen to have chance to put Gen one with date window, non-chrono @ Tourneau today. Very nice piece. Price tag was $5300.00 and AD senior rep told me that not many dealers have it yet in their store. I'm very tempted to get rep one since photo from saah or TTK look very close to the Gen one I tried it today. One thing now I can say which one is rep is that back of gen was A04XX/1000. Rep shows AXXX/700.
