For starters, your date window sucks. Rolex would never let a dial like this leave their factory
Don't mind the shadow
-
yours seems to be missing the makers mark
and the alignment of the 'L' in rolex looks too far left under the 12 o clock coronet
That's how I knew that I've made a mistake. I only emailed the seller asking in regards to it's authenticity and if it had flat A's lettering throughout the dial...
It does have a nicer date window than most rep dials and nice crisp printing. Not a total loss.
I don't know about the date window, but the printing is definitely crisp. Too bad that it's not a gen like what I hoped it would be
It has quite good lume on it, same color as the wm9 dial but with less intensity. On a curious note, which rep watch did this dial came with?

Seller opened bid at 100 with 200 buy it now. I got it for $100 + 20 shipping. I'm glad ebay has the buyer protection thing. Shame on me for not knowing enough on what to look for plus the pics were quite unclear and vague
But before anything, I would like to ask the experts and veterans to school me on the dial so I won't make the same mistakes again.

Care to elaborate more freddy333? Like what the tells are and what I should look for on it?

Hey folks,
I've just acquired a gen (according to the seller) sub dial on fleabay for quite cheap. But just to be sure, I would like to kindly ask that the experts chime in on this. My knowledge of a gen dial is merely limited to flat top A's letterings on the dial and superluminova lume. So far with my observations, the lume is a superluminova color although lacks a tad bit intensity from my wm9 v3 dial which is amazing. I can't seem to investigate the dial further without a loupe, though with naked eyes I noticed that all the markers are slightly smaller than my wm9 v3.
Sorry I don't have a better camera than my iphone4 for now. And experts, please help me with this. Thanks in advance!

Hello,
yes, nice watch but what I don´t understand is why to put a 16800 insert on it.....gen is nice, but please the correct insert to the correct watch otherwise your "franken" is a "fantasy"
I bought this watch with this insert. So, is it not correct for the 16610? I've seen some on the gen forums with this insert though.
Sneed12 : I've checked out your build. Looks great! You'll get a PM soon

Thanks blue_sphere,
I agree with you, but with the RWG forum has infected me with the mod/franken bug
Therefore I would like to gather the most parts I can to franken it. This is my first time doing this, so I'm pretty excited. I love this watch so much that I'm obsessed with it and can't be apart from it too long, hence me posting this thread

Hey highoeyazmuhudee,
lol that's long for me to type
Thanks! The wm9 truly feels and look gen in every way. I can't help but glance on it all the time while it's on my wrist.
Oh yes I am located in the US, Los Angeles CA to be exact.

Hello everyone,
I'm relatively still in my noob phase, though I've acquired quite a good amount of knowledge by reading around. I got myself a like new wm9 v3 about a month ago with a gen insert which I absolutely admire! Immediately after I got it I started shopping around and managed to snag up a gen crystal and a gen dial. I'm also looking for a gen crown and clasp soon.
My question is, among our modders, who has the quickest turnaround time if I send it out to install the crystal and dial? Also maybe a movement service (although the watch is pretty darn accurate ever since I got it. -2 sec/day constant)?
Please let me know your thoughts and help will be greatly appreciated.
Here's a pic of my 16610 in the sun

Thanks bonesey! I'll look into that soon enough

Hi all!
I'm super stoked about having my first sub (just shows how a noob I am ) : a BK/TW sub from his latest offerings bought from a member on the RWI forum. It has a Clark crystal and all the BK mods (pearl and DW) but no superlume, which I'm already in talks with pbdad for luming it.
I'm humbly asking all the Rolex experts on this board suggestions as to how I could further enhance it. Also, maybe a suggestion of where I can source a gen insert. The crystal, based on my readings are questionable because of the similarities to the gen so I find it to be a lesser priority item, unless someone chimes in and emphasize the 'it's worth it' factor.
I will post pics as soon as I receive the watch, ETA Monday
Thanks for your time and expertise guys!
Gen or a good rep? Experts chime in :)

UPDATE: I have returned the dial to the seller today. He's been quite good with replying back and forth, so I'm sure it will be a hassle free return. I always have the buyer protection thing as a safety net. But all in all a lesson learned
Thanks everyone for helping out in pointing the flaws.
My original plan is to swap a gen dial in my wm9 v3. Only a gen dial is worthy to replace the wm9 IMO. Alas, I have a gen crystal waiting to be installed, so that cancels out my dial frustrations
