Not sure if this is the right area to post this request, but... The top chrono plunger for on my Aquatimer popped off and is now lost. Is this common? Could anybody help point me in the right direction to buy a replacement pusher without having to buy an entire replacement watch. I have asked a few dealers that said they don't deal in parts. Thanks in advance for your advice it's such a great watch and it kills me to see it now.

I purchased a 7750 movement to begin to learn some very basic modding techniques such as date wheel swaps and such. I am hung up on how to remove or unlatch the hooks that hold the dial into place. Could somebody better explain this process. If you have a picture, that would be great! I'm sure it's really simple, I just don't want to break anything, and would like to learn the correct way.
Thank you.

I think it's authentic. The Aquatimer replica's for one have a "w" instead of an "n" in "International" on the rotor.
-
As long as we are talking about the updated 3717... I have heard that the datewheels are better than the older version too. Can anybody confirm that?
-
Anybody interested or know of people looking for projects to swap this movement for me? I'm thinking of grabbing one of ajoesmith's movements.
-
I have a IWC 3717 with the 28000 fast beat movement that will need to be swapped. I just wasn't sure if I had the option for either movement and if so, if one had advantages over the other.
New 7750 is more reliable, but the posts are a different size than the old 7750, so you will have problems getting the hands to fit if you switch. -
I need to have a 7750 movement replaced and was wondering if anybody could provide me with a quick breakdown why I should choose one of these movements over another. The Asian 7750 fast beat 28,800bph vs Asian 21,600 bph. I'm sure this has been discussed many times over, and I have tried to understand The Zigmeister's reviews but they are a bit over my head. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks Lankai,
I guess that explains why my date one my 3717 got stuck half way. Thanks for the insight. I can't believe I have not heard this before. Great info! Now I will know what not to do when I get my new Aquatimer which should be here any day now.
Some additional 7750/7750b1/7753 Valjoux Movement Information*Please read them before u play with your watch that has above movement1. How do you set date on 7750 or 7753 or 7750b1 or any movt with date chrono/ automatic?
Do not activate the chrono until you have done all these steps as mentioned
When you receive your piece, please remember to handwind the piece for about maybe 50 rounds, so to generate enough power reserve. Then you shake the piece like a "mad cow" for 3-4 minutes to generate more power reserve (If necessary)
Then pull the crown out to adjust the hour hand manually to determine when is am/pm. See the date change - then you will know when is am/ pm. Make sure you know when is am/ pm before you proceed
Make sure you do not adjust the date between 10pm-3am ever!!! Do not ask me why because it just works this way. if you adjust between 10pm-3am, the date will jam or go half way. After u have confirmed the am/ pm
-
** if you do have a chrono movement with day-date or just date.. never adjust the date wheel with out finding the proper am - pm @5:30 or you may do irreputable dammage to the movement
Lanikai,
I may learn something here too... could you explain yourself a little more behind the issues that could occur with adjusting the date wheel. I have never heard this before, but it sounds like something I should know. Thanks for any background on this topic.
Cheers

I thought the same thing too. They are actually the same pictures from gen sites. Still thought they were interesting, especially if watches ilke the Aquatimer Chrono all come from the same factory but the price is so much different.
Hands at 10:10 on rep sites always make me think they are using gen pictures .... -
Check out these IWC's. They have a Aquatimer with a bracelet. The prices are lowere too. Any ides what the differences are between these offerings and the ones that our dealers are selling?
Any comments would be helpful.

Thanks Yello,
I have the 3717 and a 44mm pam and both feel and look great on my wrist.
Do you happen to know , or trust that your CD is waterproof? I noticed Joshua's site says it is. If I could trust that the Aquatimer was, that would be a big selling point.
Sorry, but i can't help you with side by side pixx... just these two seperate pixx. Although the sizes of both the Panerai Luminor Marina (44mm) is the same as the IWC Cousteau Divers (also 44mm) i had the feeling that the Panerai wears slightly smaller. This could well be because of the rubber strap on the CD and maybe the thicker caseback. But both watches feel very comfortable around the wrist.
I don't have the 'normal' IWC Aquatimer chrono and the IWC pilot chrono hasn't arrived yet so i can't say much about those, except they are a size smaller.

The Aquatimer Chrono has been out for a little while now and it has certainly peaked my interest. I read the few reviews for it so far and it sounds like the only issues are the lack of AR and the DW's. Outside of that, what do you guys think?
Better than the 3717?
How does it compare to the Cousteau?
Reasons to choose the Aquatimer over the Cousteau?
I would love some more pictures, especially wrist shots. A picture side by side with the Cousteau would be great. Also a wrist shot next to a 44mm PAM would be sweet.
I could go on but you get the point... Any info is much appreciated.
Thanks!

Guess I got lucky then. I did have it in to my local watch guy for a service of the movement though. Maybe he took some precautions?
-
I have taken my 3717 swimming a number of times and never had a problem with it. Just my 2 cent though. You're on your own.

Flav and Chief,
My hat's off to you both. The Pilot in the pic is mine, and in my mind, pics can't describe how great the watch looks. I never would have imagined how big of a difference a good AR job does for the watch. In my mind, it's my new favorite mod.
Thanks again.

In all fairness, I started this post and have now finally received the watch. It may be a little cliche, but El will make good, just don't plan on a 5 day turn around in most cases.
Damn the watch looks great though!!!
-
Thanks Zed,
I tried them both, but unfortunately no luck.
Oh well, I guess I will just sit back and wait.
If your in the states try tracking it through USPS or HDL ..Zed

Hey guys,
I am ordinarily very patient about these things but after hearing the recent shipping issues El has been having I thought I would ask if any of you have heard anything from him lately. All I have received is a tracking number that does not work. I aksed him double check my tracking number, but he never got back to me, that was a week ago.
It has been over 2 weeks now. Is this usual for him?

I have been rather curious about how reluming is done. I looked into this website which sells a number of different glow powders. My first question is: Is this the same stuff or similiar stuff to what is used on the relumes done through members of this site? Ifnot what is used, and where do you get it?
Also, It would be great if somebody would provide a tutorial on how a watch relume is done. With so many members doing it now, it must not be rocket science, but clearly requires a certain talent or skill.
This site actually has a project listed for reluming watchs.
The site is also offering free shipping, and the products are pretty cheap.
All thoughts on this topic are welcome.

Thanks Delta,
No luck with my tracking number in your links, but i'm not worried. This is what I guess I would expect anyway.
