PAM 382 Bronzo released... comments welcome :-)
rangers158 replied to swdivad's topic in The Panerai Area
The two 12 o'clock markers, the right one is higher than the left. Seems like a common defect as seen on some other QC pics. -
You can push it so that the dagger touched the screw. However, you will need to recalibrate the watch timing. Only do it if you have access to a timing machine or a watchsmith that can do it from you. Also to open the case, you need proper tools. So if you do not have the tools, better dun do it. Get someone with the right tools and skills to do it for you.

Actually the Noob looks green from pics. But gen is also quite green.
-
These watches are as gen as a rep watch going to get. Worth the wait. Somehow, the noob factory does not like to supply these watches to cartel. So to get one is not so easy.
-
Isnt the size kind of small compared to the gen? Totally inaccurate and I am wondering how are they going top cover the gaos between the movement and the case.

Different 111M Hublot Factory from Trevor?
rangers158 replied to ricardmg's topic in The Panerai Area
Both are H factory. The edge of the inner cutout for the CG is rounded whereas Noob is more angular. Also Noob has a thicker and more yellow font on the dial. -
SSD vs New Superlumed SD, more pics added 4/3/12
rangers158 replied to duke1973's topic in The Rolex Area
The SL SSD has a slanted lugs. Seems like the CNC is not calibrated properly and lugs are slting to the right at the top. I have one in hand it is very pronounce when you see one in the flesh. Stay clear of the new SSDs, unless you can stand slantedcase/lugs. -
Is this a noob or h-factory?
-
Looking good... Suede strap looks very nice as well.
-
The rep fairs poorly in this case. I had 2 of these, one white and 1 black. There is a huge gap between the case and the lug. Until they release a better case, I do not see any point modding the rep.
-
Looks much better than the 359 proto posted. No CG yet. Not sure if they will screw up the CG just like 359.
-
Send it back and asked for a new piece. Wait a little bit and it will be less trouble for you later. But whatever the dealer tells you, they will probably simply replace the dial and send it back. Do not accept this type of slip-shot quality the dealers send out.

Lovely Volcano, what do you think guys?
rangers158 replied to ingenieur's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Real alligator skin is really visually different from the rep leather. Love it. -

Sweet, is that a gen AP hornback or custom piece? -
Is the rep 005 lume really as good as gen?
rangers158 replied to mjmurphy926's topic in The Panerai Area
Definitely not as bright as sandwich dial. But for sausage dials, i cannot be happier with my 005... Glows even when you enter a building during a sunny day... -
Advice on whether I should send my PAM 288 back.

Got no experience with any watchsmith. Perhaps The Zigmeister or Domi. They are quite established and have great reviews. -
Advice on whether I should send my PAM 288 back.
rangers158 replied to momo650's topic in The Panerai Area
The problem with the PAM288 crown is that it does not disengage from turning the stem when it is pressed in. In other reps, when you press in the crown to screw it in, the crown does not turn the stem. For PAM288 and even the AP ROO, the rep factory perhaps save cost and decided not to make the crown the way it should be. Hence, when you screw in, you are actually also turning the stem, winding the movement. If the movement is smooth, its not too much of a problem. However, for A7750, most of them are dirty and hard to wind in the first place. So you need to exert a lot more force to turn. This force and misalignment of the threads will cause the tube to strip easily. You cannot do anything about the crown, so best to get the movement serviced so that it will not take too much force to turn. Also use the technique to push the crown in and turn anticlockwise (unwinding the crown) until you hear or feel the threads click in. Then tighten the crown. This way, you can be sure the threads are aligned properly and will not strip it. -
Looks like there is still some slight overprint but looks unnoticeable. Looks great overall...

Does not occur to me there is anything really wrong with the sec hand... Blue colour of the hand is probably as close as gen it is going to get...

It's probably the piece of metal acting as a spring for the chrono pushers being out of place of over straightened. One way is to press the reset pusher and see if it can nudge the mechanical lever inside to push the start pusher back to position. In any case the spring will still need to be restated or replaced...

Totally agree with you. The CG itself does not evem sit flush with the case... Stop paying good money for 2nd rate quality goods...

Hublot All Black Ceramic - Ultimate Black Out Watch
rangers158 replied to rangers158's topic in My Collection
The main flaws are the numeral markers are too shiny as it should be matt black, usual rotor saw-tooth rotor which is not the same as eta 7750, missing micro regulator, wrong caseback and so on. But its really an awesome piece. Just wish it did not cost so much though... -
The V1 dial is amazing! If you are deciding to get one, do not bother if you are not getting one with this dial. The second factory dial can be spotted from a mile since it is so glossy...
