  1. This baby has been in my collection since 2005, I believe... or possibly even 2004 (??)

Since I no longer have emails from the original transaction, I've been wracking by brain trying to figure out who I bought it from and more importantly, what this model/version is.

IIRC, it came from a dealer on the TRC forum. Initially, I was under the impression it came from EL and that it was a 111.

However, I've been advised by a gracious fellow member that 111's only came in sandwich and not the sausage flavor of dial.

Now I'm not even sure it is an EL Pam :g:

The pics aren't great, but I think adequate enough for ID'ing.

    TIA

  2. Fyi - I can't find a way to PM via Tapatalk... But using Safari, if you drill down into the users profile > Send PM, you'll get a popup. However this popup currently seems be too small to be fully functional on the iPad (needs resizing). Until it's fixed you can still send a PM using it but you'll have to scroll (using the 2 finger scroll method) within the popup in order to access the send button below the subject and message fields.

  3. A couple of notes. Looks like the "Quote" function (which I guess is what has replaced "Reply") isn't grabbing everything from the post that I am trying to quote. Also, if the thread has multiple pages, there is only a prev/next page function at the top of the thread, not the bottom.

I am using Mac OS X 10.6.7 with Safari 5.05

Using Safari 5.1 (Lion)... same results as redwatch

  4. What happened to "Member Since....."????? I like to identify vets and noobs not only based on their post count!

Agreed... I was a veteran-lurker, only now reduced to nothing but an "avatar-less" noob-poster ;)

Great work btw... I'm sure we'll get the bugs worked out.

I'm off to check out Xworld... :)

  5. Kirium reps were big about 10 years ago. Some of these were made of the mystery metal (or pot metal) variety that could turn your wrist green. Thankfully reps have come a long way since then!

Not sure how restorable this one would be. The crystal and movement can certainly be replaced... but I shudder to think what you'll uncover once she goes under a buffing wheel.

  6. The glidelock extension can be removed and the clasp will remain functional?? i think i'm confused :g:

The diver extension is what I removed... it uses the same screw pin to hold it in place as the links do.

Basically it's like sizing your bracelet, only you're removing the diver extension instead of a link.

  7. Looks great overall.. apart from a little slight gapping between bracelet and lugs.

I can never get over the fat hour marker rings though on the ultimate:( Happy with my Trevor 2010 V5 :)

That's really strange about your diver extension slipping out. I don't see how it can happen with the glidelock system.. since it really doesn't allow anything to get past the teeth with the lock is closed... Can you take a picture of the bracelet clasp in closed and open positions?

The bracelet/lug gap is much more pronounced in the pic but barely perceptible in person... I can live with that.

With regards to the glide lock on my bracelet... I believe the issue is that the teeth are barely grabbing the lock mechanism. Flexing my wrist downwards would put pressure on the under side of the clasp creating just enough leverage to cause the teeth to loosen the their grip. It's apparently an issue that some other owners also have experienced. Someone had suggested removing the diver's extension all together... That's what I did and YAY! it no longer slips! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  8. UPDATE: Mary's DSSD has arrived!! Just got it about an hour ago so I haven't yet had the chance to do an in-depth inspection.

First impressions are good... this baby's a chunker! She's got some serious wrist presence on my 7" "girly limbs" :pardon:

I really can't tell the difference between it's 316F steel when compared to my other 316L subs... they frankly look virtually identical (wondering if it really is 316F in the first place).

Under the hood is supposed to be an ETA clone (which winds quite smoothly btw). My only immediate gripe is that the slide lock doesn't "lock" properly.

I've got it set to the smallest adjustment... but if I arc my wrist downwards, it just seems to slip out almost to full length. Otherwise, I'm quite happy with this purchase.

Here's a quick pic (sorry about the dust and fingerprints)

Thanks to all that chimed in.
